Chapter 2 (Age 4 - Part 1)

Please read the Authors Note below, now on to speeding through the childhood!~

P.S. I am going to spell 'Haine' as 'Heine' now, just cause its easier for me. And "Glanzierch" as "Granzierch".

~O~

Lumier POV: (Lumier Age: 4)

Did I want the throne?

Nope.

If you ask me, a nice king has waaaay to many duties. That's why most kings go bad so they don't have to deal with those duties.

Of course, if somehow, someway, I do somehow become king or become the kingdom's most power person (which is the king), I would be a good king. Probably.

Apologies in advance, dear father, if I do become king, its likely that during my reign I would probably make everyone forget about "The famous God of War, king of Granzierch, Viktor von Granzierch" because my badassness would outshine yours and eventually you'll only hear my name on everyone's lips.

Just kidding, Dear Father. Heine's badassness is unknown and that is why I won't create a rebellion against you for the sake of not making an enemy out of Heine.

I can't promise elder brother Eins will do the same...

Actually the real reason why I won't aim for the throne or create a rebellion to overthrow you is because I don't want the throne, too much work, and despite everything I really do care for you and love you as a father.

Hey, for a king, you make a good father, just look at all the other movies, animes, books, and films with kings known as terrible parents.

Anyway, my father probably can't hear any of my own ranting considering at the moment he's in bed with a wound.

A gunshot wound.

Huh, I thought this part already passed. Oh wait, it was before my birth. Nevermind, this must be your second gunshot isn't Father?

I sympathies with Viktor, I really do. I been shot before (THAT'S HOW I CAME TO BE IN THIS WORLD), really not fun.

I sighed as I hid back behind the corner of the hallway as the royal physician exited the room where Father currently resided in. The royal physician looked pretty grim, stressed, tired, and exactly like a man in his forties who was drunk and just found out his wife was leaving him.

Didn't know if I feel sorry for him or not. In this world, people are certainly more true. However, there still exists the jealous and greedy nature of humans in this world. This world was much more innocent and not as tainted as my own.

I didn't know whether the royal physician was really stressed because of worry or stressed merely because he always is and is actually an incompetent doctor because FYI, the medicine enlightenment in this world definitely hasn't happen yet.

Long story short, didn't know whether he was someone I should be wary of or not. Viktor is still pretty young meaning his reign hasn't gone on for a long time. So Father is still going out to war and BASICALLY making the kingdom Granzierch (which at the moment is actually pretty filthy, crime-filled, a homeless people and children on every block) a safer and better place it became in the future during the canon.

Viktor, however, is undoubtedly a genius. And he is also someone who works hard. So by my math, his hard work's progress should begin showing around Kai's birth.

Thank God, my future brothers won't have to experience this war period.

Too bad Eins' has to. Maybe this is why he grew up to be so mature.

I slipped into the shadows as the royal physician walked past me, looking as if he was sulking, he didn't even notice me probably of my great skill of erasing my presence (Thank you Kuroko-sama.) or maybe he was just too depressed.

I looked back around the corner to where my Father's room was, I wasn't surprised to see 2 guards standing by the door.

In case your wondering why I'm sneaking around, its because my Father's condition is suppose to be secret. Unknown to the rest of the world.

If suppose, our enemies were the find out that the king is currently gravely ill, they would no doubt use this to there advantage. If the citizens found out, they would obviously panic. So besides a selected few, no one knew.

Even we princes (Me and elder brother Eins) weren't suppose to know (We're still children after all, they either don't want to introduce us to the cruel reality of war this early or don't trust us to keep our mouths shut because we're still children).

That said, Eins is too busy studying so even if he did notice, he probably wouldn't care (the cold-stone meanie he is).

The reason on how I found out...was actually pretty bizarre.

FLASHBACK

'The King was shot! The King was shot!' The birds chirped.

I stared deadpanned at the birds on the window ceiling.

"Birds are talking..."

"Oh look who finally noticed after we tried to talk to you ever since your birth. Duh we talk, yep only you can understand! Welcome to fantasy life, your late but we saved you a seat!" One of the birds sassed.

'Its to early for this...' "...I'm going back to sleep." I lied down and pulled the covers back over my head.

...

"Sooo...how's your week?"

"Terrible so far. First a cat tried to eat me, everyone is gossiping about how the king was shot and on death's gate, and now the prince ignored me after I so sweetly and generously told him about his father's wound."

"*whistled* Cooco, you have it hard."

"Just noticed?"

'So birds really do gossip and have weird names...' I thought beneath my cover.

...

Wait....

"Father was shot!?" I shot up from my bed and asked the birds in horror.

"Oh so now he takes me seriously." The sassy bird, now known as Cooco chirped in exasperation (Wait, how can I understand the emotion spoken through chirping?)

"He's pretty slow for a genius." His (And how can I tell a bird's gender?) friend pitched in.

"MY FRIENDS! YOUR SAVIOR IS HERE!" A loud purr sounded from outside.

"ITS THE CAT!" Wait, isn't that grandmother's cat, Haustsa?

"GET AWAY YOU ANIMAL!" Cooco screeched in terror.

"..."

"Umm, hate to break it to you Cooco, but we're all technically animals." Cooco's friend chirped. Huh, birds are quite single-minded.

"GET AWAY YOU MAMMAL!" (Excuse me, I happen to be a 'mammal' too.)

"Better. NOW FLY!"

A rush of feathers and they were gone.

Huh, so I can understand cats too. So I'm presuming I can probably understand all animals.

...

Meh. Reincarnation is weirder.

END OF FLASHBACK

So yeah. Apparently I can talk to animals.

Just got more badass.😎

Also, I probably won't get lonely anytime soon. Plus, I rather trust an animal then a human.

After discovering this skill (I have a feeling whoever got me reincarnated gave me this skill), I put it into use by getting more information. Mainly through birds because they travel quickly and gossip with pretty much everyone (who don't eat them).

Apparently dear Father got shot by a child. To be more precise, an assassin child sent as the last push from an already defeated country (which Father destroyed politically and basically going to take over, people from both kingdom's were celebrating. The people of the defeated country hated their ruler and were happy to be under the rule of Viktor.)

Lame enemy king. Glad dear father totally destroyed them in politics (which is definitely less bloodier then war).

That said, I was actually quite interested in the child assassin. I'm not mad at him or her, its likely there forced. But if not, that would also be an interesting development.

Because of my interest, I sent some of the birds (with bribes of bug-food) to find out where exactly the child is now, because I doubt dear Father would have him killed (being the merciful, kind, and great king he is.)

I also heard (from Hausta who heard it from the frantically worried Mother Queen [Grandmother], who apparently fainted [which is quite worrying]) that the royal advisers and basically those 'higher up' people were discussing whether if Eins (who only recently turned 7) would need some major last minute training because its very possible the king is out of commission for well....forever.

I shudder at that thought.

Me, who was already considered a genius like Eins (though a few selected people know that I'm probably faking my own limit), was also given a consideration but hey, I'm freaking 4.

Plus, I don't want the throne. Not that I'm telling anyone that anytime soon, I rather keep my own secrets that likely change almost everything to myself.

I'm 99.9% sure Father won't die. I mean, my birth may have changed a few things here and there, but surely not cause my own Father's death? Maybe this did happen in the anime but was never mentioned.

I really didn't know.

And that may have scared me a teensy ieensy bit.

That's why, I, myself am going to insure my Father's survival. Just in case. (And I feel a little guilty though I really have no reason why).

~O~

3rd's POV:

The second prince of Granzierch, Prince Lumier von Granzierch, walked gracefully up to the guards who quickly bowed (half out of respect/custom and the other half because the young prince's aura screamed for respect)

But they noticed one important thing.

The prince wasn't smiling.

They felt faint with terror.

It was known throughout the palace that the second prince was the exact opposite of the first prince. He was kind, gentle, and smiles at everyone and anyone no matter what mood.

Really, the only thing the two brothers have in common that they both were considered geniuses (Even there looks are different though they are both handsome).

Of course, the second prince didn't smile all the time. But he always had a gentle look on his face. But this prince in front of the guards had a very frightening emotionless glance in his eyes.

It felt very similar to King Viktor when he was staring down at his enemies.

The prince then gave a small close-eyed smile which strangely caused the guards more fear then relief.

"Good day gentlemen. Please announce my presence to Father." The Second Prince asked, still smiling.

"G-Good day, your highness! I-I'm afraid his majesty is b-busy." One of the guards stuttered.

"Oh? But I remember that he was meant to have a break after conquering the Velzash kingdom." Prince Lumier opened his eyes a few inches, still smiling, however the guards quivered in fear even more as the pale amber eyes seemed to be growing impatient.

'HOW IS A FOUR YEAR OLD SO SCARY?!' The guards innerly cried.

"T-T-T-There have b-been some issues c-c-coming up, w-we ask you to p-please understand y-your highness." The other guard also stuttered.

"..." The second prince's silence and stare was slowly killing the guards inside.

"Is that so...? Then gentlemen...Please. Step aside." Lumier von Granzierch glared.

And the guards (who you can't call as men) promptly slumped down, looking unconscious.

Lumier paying no attention to them opened the grand doors...

"Father...Just what are you trying to do?"

"Hehehehe, um...trying to meet an old friend?"

The great King Viktor of Grandzierch stood there like a deer caught in highlight, with one bare foot on the open window sill completely looking like someone who is trying to escape from the window.

('Now I know why Leonhard actually considered to escape through the window when trying to escape Heine.' Lumier innerly mused on the side.)

"Father. Please know if it was any other occasion, I wouldn't care if you sneaked out through the window, however, you are currently injured. Please slowly get back into bed." Lumier smiled in amusement as King Viktor pretty much pouted as he went back into bed.

Lumier sighed to the side.

Honestly, Lumier wasn't mad, more relieved and amused. If he was in the same situation, Lumier would probably escape through the window himself.

"It was just a scratch. I'll get better." The King sulked.

"A scratch? I thought bullet wounds are fatal?" Lumier tilted his head slightly, acting like a four-year old who only heard of 'bullets' and 'wounds' through royal studies.

"They are, but luckily there was a splendid doctor nearby who was able to act swiftly. After arriving back at the palace, Queen Mother had the royal physician check it once more." Viktor patted his bed, signalling the young four-year-old to come closer which the boy did.

Viktor lifted his second son onto the bed besides him, patting his head gently. "How did you know I was injured? It was supposed to be kept secret."

Lumier lifted his head up to face his father (which the King mentally 'awwed'), "The birds told me."

"...Really? Aw, how cute!" 'Well, Lumier is still a child. I wonder how though...' Viktor thought as he cuddled his son.

Viktor's sharp eyes then caught the fainted guards outside the door, he looked shocked. "Lumier, what happened to the guards?" The king asked his son seriously.

Lumier looked back at the guards too before turning back to his father. "I asked the guards to move when they wouldn't allow me to see you. For some reason, they fell asleep! They must be very tired." Innocent smile.

"Is that so...?" Viktor made a note to talk to his advisers about this.

"Father, earlier you mentioned you were going to see an 'old friend', who is it?" Lumier had a good inkling of who it was.

"Oh..A very good friend of mine, he is someone I trust the most. I'm sure you will meet him someday." Viktor was being very vague about it.

Lumier who noticed, didn't push it. "If you say so. Instead of visiting him, why not write him a letter?" A plan began forming inside of Lumier's small head.

"Perhaps I will. Good idea Lumier, you have grown so smart~" Viktor cooed, making a mental note to take his second son's advice and write a letter to Heine instead.

Lumier visibly preened in his Father's praise (making the king 'aww' again). "Father, I better go, Valira (Lumier's nursemaid) is taking me to the zoo today. I was going to invite you but its better if you rest and heal quickly." The young prince jumped out of the bed and bowed before exiting.

Viktor's cooing smile turned into a observing smile. "Lumier is certainly mature. His growth is excellent. At this rate, he will make a wonderful prince and maybe a great king."

It didn't matter either way for Viktor. The Father/King was proud.

Now to write to Heine...

~O~

Lumier's POV:

After exiting and closing the door to Father's room. I stopped smiling. 'That was some interesting info..' I smirked to myself.

Now to deal with he unconscious guards with foam forming in the mouths.

SNAP

The guards woke up abruptly at the sound of my fingers snapping.

"Y-Y-Your highness!"

"Please forgive us for slacking!" They both bowed a 90 degree angle.

"Good work. After you change shifts, please get some rest. Until then, I hope you guard my Father well gentlemen." I smiled a gentle close-eyed smile at them.

"YES SIR!" They saluted.

"Thank you." With that, I left.

Walking around the corner of the hallway, I was thinking while maids and servants bowed in greeting towards me which I responded with a kind smile making them smile brightly back.

'Father, while wounded, if he is able to walk around I would hardly call it fatal. This "splendid doctor" must be quite a physician. And to think I though I would have had to come in and re-stitch him myself. However... why would the royal physician look so grim and frustrated unless...'

"Oof." I bumped into someone. I looked up and smiled a genuine smile at Eins.

"Ah, elder brother, you must have just returned from your lessons. How was it?" I asked with a curious tone.

"Fine. You seem to be thinking about something quite deeply." Eins commented, his facial expression of stone not changing.

"Ara, is elder brother concerned?" I asked in a hopeful tone.

"No."

I felt an arrow strike my heart. Ah....as cold as always Eins.

"I discovered long ago that you are mature enough to han...handle yourself." I brightened. 'Aw, Eins is already learning how to speak like an adult.' I mentally cooed. (Dammit, I'm a lot like Viktor..Genes?)

"That's a compliment isn't it Aniki? Arigato." AW EIN'S BLUSHED (FOR 0.00000000000000001 seconds).

Then I spotted the royal physician talking to someone in the shadows through the windows. I narrowed my eyes for a brief second before turning back to Eins.

"I regret that I'm busy at the moment Eins-niisama, I would have liked to have dinner with you. But if you will excuse me."

"Busy?" Eins raised an eyebrow, probably wondering why a 4 year old prince would be busy.

"Yes...I have to do some pest control." I walked away with a bow before Eins could reply.

"Pest control?" I heard him mutter in confusion.

'Yes, dear brother. Pest Control. For I will not forgive anyone harming my family, if I have to do the dirty work then so be it...'

'There is nothing wrong with putting trash to where it belongs.' I smiled coldly.

~O~

Well, that ended on a slightly darker note.

Don't worry, this story won't be really depressing or something like the OC has a past of abusive parents or something like that.

Granted, there will be some serious moments in the story, but most of the time this fanfic is probably going to be really light-hearted. (Or maybe not, who knows?)

Don't really have anything to say.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter, a comment is appreciated as well as a vote.

Until next time,
