It's a little short, but where it ended, felt like where it should end if that makes sense(: but I know what I'm writing for the next one already and I'm hoping and planning on giving it to you VERY soon.

Anakin glanced at his watch as we exited the plane, "We're a little early for our hotel check in, so we can stop somewhere to eat and kill a bit of time. If you're hungry." He power-walked away from the crowd of people, heading in the direction the exit signs pointed to.

"Can we stop at a store too? Like Walmart or Target?" I said, following quickly behind his fast steps with my purse almost slipping from my shoulder.

He took a pause, causing me to almost bump into him, "For what?" He asked, facing me.

I looked at him like he was crazy, or dumb—a bit of both I suppose, "In case you forgot, we don't have clothes, toothpaste, a toothbrush, shampoo—"

He raised his hand to cut me off, "Okay, yeah, fine whatever— we'll go to the store after we check in to the hotel."

I smiled, my lack of necessities had me anxious for a good amount of the plane ride. Which means I didn't get to sleep much like I had hoped, but since our meeting isn't until tomorrow; I can nap today at the hotel after finally getting some food in me that isn't low quality or from a plane.

We reached the pick up area after leaving the airport. I saw a taxi parked while Anakin fumbled with his Uber app, quietly cursing at it for being slow, "Taxi!" I waved and whistled it over.

Anakin looked up from his phone, groaning as the taxi approached, "No, I don't like Taxis."

I furrowed my brows, "It's the exact same thing as an Uber, minus the app."

"No it's not," He countered, "Taxi drivers raise the rates on you if you look well-off, and I definitely look well-off." He gestured to his expensive looking suit and his gold watch.

"Because you are well-off so you'll be able to afford any rate he gives you, won't you?" I opened the back seat door as soon as the taxi stopped in front of us. The driver got out and looked slightly confused when he eyed us and our lack of belongings, "We need to go downtown," I let him know with a smile.

He nodded, "Of course, anywhere specific?"

I looked at Anakin, he knew where we were going, I on the other hand don't even know the name of our hotel, "The Hyatt." He told him with an attitude, gesturing me to get in.

"You don't need to be rude," I rolled my eyes as he got in next to me,  "We're here on company business, you could have had a town car waiting." And since he didn't, we're resorting to this. So the only person he has to blame is himself.

He side-eyed me and slammed the door shut, "As you know, I had a lot of things on my mind."

"Doesn't give you the right to take out your frustration on me or strangers." I snapped, respectfully. I gazed out the window and watched as our taxi driver walked around the car to get to the drivers door.

"I'm sorry."

"What?" I turned my head quickly, shocked and wondering if I need to clean out my ears.

He held eye contact with me for a moment before looking out his own window, "I said it once, I'm not saying it again." Our driver got into the car and we both fell silent after that. We didn't share a single word between us on our way into the city.

"Seriously?" Anakin groaned in frustration when the driver gave him his rate.

The driver shrugged, "There was a lot of traffic."

There really wasn't.

"Fucking crook," Anakin mumbled underneath his breath while opening his wallet and paying the man. I watched the driver look into Anakin's wallet with a smile. Once he was paid, he went on his way and Anakin couldn't help himself and made sure to give him the middle finger as he drove away, "I told you he'd overcharge me."

"You're rich, get over it." Is he a crook? Sure, but with an economy like this, people are desperate. Which isn't something that someone like Anakin would understand.

"I wouldn't be if I had that mindset," He rolled his eyes, heading to the entrance of the building next to us, "There's a restaurant here, we'll eat, check in— then the store." He added the last part as soon as he saw I was about to interrupt him.

I smiled, "Free food, free shopping spree. Maybe having you as a boss isn't so bad."

He glared at me as we made our way inside the restaurant, "You'll have a limit."

"Whatever you say rich-boy." We hardly waited for a seat. It was that time of day where it wasn't lunch time, nor dinner. So the place was nearly empty, "Water," I told the waiter when he asked for our drink order.

"Old fashioned." Anakin gave his next.

"I'll be back with those and if you're ready by then I'll take your order." He walked away with a polite smile.

I raised my brows, "I haven't seen you drink water since before we left." I noted.

He raised his brows back, in a mocking way, "I didn't realize you were my Mother."

Angrily, I grabbed the menu and held it up so I could no longer see him. I wanted to cry. I really did. Ive been holding it in and trying to forget everything I'm going through. But when my chest tightens at comments like that, it's like it's making way for the rest of the pain to makes it way back in.

In shorter words; my wall cracked and the agony and thoughts I was holding back were seeping in.

My vision blurred as I read over the menu, and then I heard a sigh, "I shouldn't have snapped."

"Okay." I responded back, my voice cracking. That's all I could say with the heavy lump I feel in my throat that threatens to choke me if I say too much.

A hand gripped the top of my menu and pulled it down, "Are you crying?" His expression held confusion, and guilt, "Why are you crying (y/n)? I thought you were used to me being an ass?"

I lifted my menu back up, "I just don't have the energy to deal with it right now."

He fell silent. I heard him looking over his own menu, but at the same time I felt his stare. I lowered mine just a little and met his gaze. He was looking at me over the top of his own menu, "Does it have to do with your ex?" He asked, flat out. Not that I expected slow and thoughtful to be his forte.

"If I say yes, can we eat without talking about it?" I looked down and flipped the page. I already knew what I wanted, I just enjoyed the barrier.

He nodded, "Yes."

"Okay," I sighed, placing the menu down in-front of me, "Then yes."

He parted his lips to speak, but the waiter arrived with our drinks before he could, "Water for you, and an old fashioned for you sir." He set the glasses in front of us and added another water next to Anakin's drink, "In case you want any water as well."

We thanked him and gave him our order afterwards. He took our menus and walked away, leaving us alone once again, "You agreed we wouldn't talk about it." I said before he could say whatever it was he was going to let out before our server arrived.

"I just have one thing to say," He leaned forward, crossing and resting his arms on the table. I gestured for him to speak, knowing he would no matter what I say, "I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but coming from a man, we do stupid things, even to the people who don't necessarily deserve it."

"Tell me something I don't know."

"I'm not done," He drank his alcoholic drink without making a face. I could never, "Now I'm not saying that's an excuse, I detest cheaters as much as you likely do right now. But don't for a second think that you were at fault or that you could have done something differently. He was gonna do what he did regardless, and my money is on him doing the same thing to the woman he cheated with, or vice versa."

"Please vice versa." I would be on cloud nine if he has to feel what I've felt.

Anakin lifted his old fashioned, "To karma. May he get what he deserves."

I smiled, actually glad I had this conversation. I picked up my water, "To karma. I hope he suffers."

"A thousandfold." He added, slowly sipping on his drink, his eyes never leaving mine.
