Red is my favorite
I laughed quietly and leaned against the pink-painted bricks. "Hey who's he?" A girl whispered loudly to her friend as she passed. I pushed off the wall and pulled off my scarf. I stuffed it into my bag and walked inside behind them. They giggled and blushed. I clicked my tongue at them and walkd around, annoyed by their conversation. "He's so cute!" One whispered. "Maybe he's one of Kyoya's older brothers?" I didn't know who this Kyoya person was, but I was sure I wasn't related to him. I'd never heard of him. I kept walking, ignoring the stares and retrieving my schedule. "Where is class 1-A?" I mumbled to myself as I wandered through the school. "Here we go." I turned the golden knob and pushed the door open. Just as I expected this school was in such good shape that the doors didn't squeak. It didn't announce my arrival like the doors at my old school. "Ah, Mr. Shiro. You're late." I nodded and slumped in the only empty desk. "Well?" She propped her hands on her hips. I adjusted my hat and smiled at her. "It's my first time on campus. I was just trying to find the room." She scoffed and went on with the lessin, trying to calm the swooning girls and angry boys. Three boys in particular seemed to be paying attention to me as well. Not with the usual jealous, distasteful glares, but more along the lines of curiosity. The bell rang. "Can I help you?" I asked the brunette behind me. "No. Sorry." I shrugged it off and put my hat back on. "You know it's disrespectful to wear a hat inside." The two gingers said in unison. "What's your point?" I unwrapped a cherry lollipop and dropped it into my mouth. "What's so funny?" I asked the laughing twins. "You don't know who we are!" They accused. "Yes I do. You're the Hitachiin twins. Your mother owns a famous design company." They stopped laughing. "How come you're talking to us like that? You're a commoner." If only... I stood and slung my bag over my shoulder. "You have no idea." I walked out slowly for better effect. "Hey, Takumi-senpai!" The boy, which I now recognized as a girl, gripped my sleeve. "What's up?" I asked her over my shoulder. "You dropped this." She held up my wallet in all of its red and black glory. I turned around. "How did you know I was older than you?" I took my wallet and put it into my jacket pocket. "You obviously worked really hard to earn that so I wasn't gonna wait." She dodged. "How did you know I was older than you?" She looked down at my bag. "What?" I looked down with her and saw my nametag, which broadly showcased my age. I snatched it out of the pocket and threw it away. "Don't call me your senpai. Or Takumi." I started walking away again, trying to focus on the cherry lollipop and not on the girl behind me. "Why?" She was beside me again. "Because I said not too. Look, I know rich people like to do whatever just because they have money but that is not the case. If you're gonna call me anything, call me..." I thought about for a minute before smiling at her. "Aka. It means red." The twins came back around. "Why do we need to call you that?" They asked in turn with the other. "Red is my favorite."
