Wednsday and Thursday
(Back to Oliver!)
I groaned as my aching body hit the bus seat, immediately putting my earbuds in to listen to my music. I barely noticed when the middle schooler sat beside me, I was so tired.
Eventually, I removed the sweatshirt and packed it away before getting off at my stop and walking home with my siblings. My legs protested anymore movement and I couldn't really blame them. We had drug tires through the grass today, which took a toll on them; We had also done fireman carry and pushup bridge. During tire drag, my harness had come up and cut off my oxygen and I had desperately pulled it beyond the cone, yanked the harness off, and collapsed on the grass. As I gulped greedy breaths, I felt my stomach churn and my dinner forced its way up and through both my mouth and nose.
I groaned as my legs collapsed, dropping me onto the bed. I pulled myself up the rest of the way and just lay there, my glasses askew and chest heaving.
I kicked my shoes off and removed my shirt to feel the cool air the fan was blowing down onto my slim, sweaty figure. My eyes closed and I took a five minute nap before I rose, much to the protestion of my muscles, and forced myself to go downstairs and eat.
Thank God tomorrow was map reading, meaning there was no excercise tomorrow.
The next day was similar to Wednesday. I was with the twins all day, besides JROTC class and study hall. I yawned as I set out all the maps and instruments for map reading with the senior in the class and snagged a seat by laying my pencil down on one of the maps.
As we worked on map reading, I could feel my body relax and allow my mind to do all the work. I smiled at the familiar feeling and laughed with my friend at a joke someone made. Man, I love this group.
