Starry Night
(Oliver's POV)
I sigh as I finally pulled into the driveway of the cabin I was staying at. Well, Hikaru too, I suppose. I park the truck and turn on the manuel brake so it wouldn't roll down the mountain. The gravel crunched under my feet as I hopped down and started grabbing my bags from the back," hey, get up. We're here."
The boy in the front whined until I tugged on his ear and then quickly got out.
"Get the cooler and bring it in." I lugged my bags to the bedroom and dropped them on the floor before heading out to grab the groceries I had brought. I put them in the cuboards and finished right as Hikaru dragged in the cooler. He started putting the cold things in the fridge as I started the propane fire. Soon, heat radiated around the shelter and I sighed in bliss. Hikaru sat next to me on the couch and watched the fire.
"So," I looked at him as he spoke," what're we doing while we're here?"
"Well, there's horseback riding, fishing, hunting, hiking, board games, card games, and there's a jacuzzi in the garden room."
"Garden room?"
"Yeah, it's a room filled with tropical plants. It's pretty neat. I actually think I might go relax in it right now." I stood up and headed to the bedroom, changing into my two-piece swimsuit. I came out with a towel on my arm as Hikaru walked past to the bedroom with his bag in hand.
I shook my head,' thank God we stopped at a store in town earlier to pick him up some clothes.'
I stepped into the warm water and hummed as the massaging jets fired into my tense muscles. I closed my eyes and didn't hear Hikaru get in until he spoke," it's kinda cold."
I jump," are you crazy?! It's not cold! And don't scare me like that!"
He chuckled and turned up the temperature on the thermostat. Which was behind me. Which meant he was leaning over me. I blushed and blamed it on the heat. I turned it down and he narrowed his eyes playfully, turning it back up. I splashed him in the face and turned it back down.
"So that's how it's going to be, huh?"
"Oh, well, I guess." I squeal as he splashed me and it turned into a splash fight. I ducked under and splashed him. His hands grabbed at my legs and pulled me towards him. I gasp for breath and blush ten hues darker when I saw his honey colored eyes so close to my grey ones. I blushed 10000x more when I realize I was basically straddling him and his hands were holding my legs in place.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" He grinned deviously and I pushed myself away from him with a red face. I didn't reply and simply got out and dried my body off as I ran in. I didn't notice his innocent laughter at my embarrassment.
I locked the door behind me as I ran into the bedroom and thought back to the devil smirk he had. I changed into my pajamas and left the room, quickly dashing past Hikaru, and climbing up to the roof. I thought back to my abnormal week and jumped back to reality when I hear the click of the trapdoor. I turn my head to see Hikaru coming up and look back up to the starry sky.
He lay beside me and looked up," I figured it was cold out so I brought a blanket and an I'm-sorry mug of hot chocolate."
I smiled softly and took the hot drink," thanks, Ru."
"Ru?"
"Yeah, I fugured we were close enough for a nickname. And I like Ru."
"Can I call you Liv?"
"No."
"Livvy?"
"No."
"Your real name? Olivia?"
"How about Olive?"
"Yeah, Olive. I like it." He smiled and looked up," wow, it's so beautiful. Why doesn't it look like this in the city?"
"Light pollution. It causes clouds to be thicker abd we can't see all the stars. Out here, there's hardly any."
He nodded and tugged on the blanket," can I have some? I'm cold."
I rolled to give him a little and he pouted. I giggle and roll to let him have half. I fell asleep that night, looking at the reflection of the stars in Hikaru's eyes.
