Chapter 42: The abandoned B248

By the next morning, Jungkook sat up to blink his eyes open and gaze down at Jimin right by his side. The sun rose high in the cold morning where the sunlight beamed through the curtains and over the bed they laid on. The first thing Jungkook did was to raise his hand and place the backside of his palm against Jimin's neck to feel that Jimin's fever finally died down and the worry in his heart finally dropped. “You're getting better… I guess that one didn't have to last a week.” Jungkook chuckled to himself and leaned in to kiss Jimin's cheek. “My Mochi~”

“I… I wanted to sleep…” Jimin whined and cracked his round eyes open to look at Jungkook caging him under. “I feel better now… I think I adjust to you quicker.” Giggled the older. It was those types of giggles that made Jungkook smile with glee just knowing he could hear Jimin's laughter as soon as he wakes up every morning. He thought of Jimin's giggles as if they were his favorite music to listen to aside from calm indie music to classical symphonies calming his ears in the break of dawn.

“Since you're feeling a little better, I want to have you outside in the porch for a while. It's cold out there, so you'll have to wear a hat to keep warm.” Jungkook mentioned and got out of bed to stretch. “I think I'll go out for groceries today, do you want to come with me? That's if you're up for it, Jimin.” Requested the younger to the older man. “If anything, I'll be by your side. I always need an extra hand to help me with those groceries.”

“Y-Yes… Yes! Then we can… walk around together and hold hands.” Jimin promised and with that, it made Jungkook smile to see the effort Jimin was putting to be cured. He didn't want to sit down and have these things haunt him forever, so he pushed forward to get rid of them with the help of his lover.

“Do you… want to shower with me? We don't have to wait until after sex for that…” Jungkook assured as Jimin nodded his head and got out of bed excitedly. He was no longer sick and that was one of the biggest things to smile about early in the morning. “You're so happy today, Mochi.”

“I'm not as sick as I was yesterday or the night before. I feel better… So that means, we can help with my social anxiety and very soon, we can have our first date! Oh… It makes me feel a little bad we had sex first before our own date..”

“Not true.” Doubted the younger. “I remember stargazing with you and watching movies with you. Those were our very first dates.” The younger corrected the astronaut as he walked to the bathroom with their bathrobes and towels. “Even if we weren't dating at that time, I can tell how much love you held in your eyes for me… And by there, I was just learning to know what my love for you meant in my universe.” Jungkook told Jimin and described how significant their love was to him by there. “Even if we may just be some pebble compared to our universe combined, I treasure you for everything. Even the little things, My Mochi.”

“Oh, don't get so romantic with me, Jungkook! You make it seem as if we're getting married! Which, I don't want until many years from now. We started to run before learning to walk.”

“That's fine. I'll wait and wait and wait.” The young stargazer then walked into the bathroom with Jimin and began to take off his own shirt once Jimin closed the door behind them. By there, the couple began to get undressed before each other and Jungkook finally glanced upwards where he locked his gaze at Park Jimin's pale and beautiful figure before him. It was in seconds he grew whipped for his lover and Jimin himself kept his eyes locked onto Jungkook's firm muscles growing so sharp and deep enough to cut glass with his masculine physique.

“Looking at you…. Makes me want to work out too.” Jimin sputtered and instantly killed the mood as he dragged his small hand to feel Jungkook's muscles along his arm. “How do you find the time? I haven't seen you work out once!”

“Each time I go to the restroom or take a shower. I know by there you won't follow.” Jungkook chuckled and instantly grabbed Jimin's hand to intertwine with it. “But you don't have to work out or change a thing… You're perfect, your body is beautiful and you don't seem to stress about working out. Jimin, you're perfect. Don't change for me…” Jungkook spoke. With every word, it made the older giggle as he guided Jungkook into the shower. They pulled the shower dividers shut and stood there together where water ran down their flawless skins in sync.

“Jungkook…” Jimin whispered and blushed as he looked down. “When will we be able to do it again?”

“Again? Mochi, you just got cured! I'd hate to see you get sick again.”

“B-But Jungkook, I'm not sick anymore. I think I adjusted.” Jimin continued to beg but Jungkook only grabbed the bottle of shampoo and squirted it over the wet, brown, silk hair of the older. “Jungkook…?”

“Let's focus on getting this quick shower out of the way. Maybe later, okay?” The younger assured and Jimin nodded his head before feeling the younger scrub Jimin's hair to wash the older himself. “Jimin, I've been wondering… Why couldn't you get professional help? Your father only relied on himself and me… Do you know why?”

“Oh… That… Well, I can't really find the answer to that at all. I think it's because if I meet someone knew in this state, I would panic and get scared or maybe… my father doesn't want me in the hands of the world again. They let me go and I was lost for a long time…” Jimin whispered and ran his hands up Jungkook's shoulders to gaze into his eyes. “But then… He allowed you to take care of me… Maybe he looked at you as a trusting man by his side.”

“It shocked me when he said I could take care of you… I look up to you so much. I was upset when you even said you won't be going back but, here we are.” The boy then smiled at Jimin to then give him a kiss on the forehead before playing with his lover's hair. Using the suds and bubbles of his hair to sculpt horns with Jimin's wet locks. “Cutie~”

After their shower, Jimin sat in the kitchen pouring himself a bowl of chocolate cereal along with milk while wearing Jungkook's T-shirt, a hat worn backwards over his head, white thigh-length socks along with dark blue briefs hugging against his own body. He sat there alone in the kitchen as Jungkook finally walked in and smiled down at him. Jungkook was already wearing his loose, black, sweatpants and white T-shirt with black socks. He was planning to go to the grocery store soon with Jimin, so he remembered to get ready for the occasion. However, Jimin; not so much.

“Did you forget our little trip? You should be outside in the porch by now.” Jungkook reminded Jimin and tilted his head to smile. “Make it through the porch and the grocery store, I might reward you.” Jungkook chuckled as Jimin began to blush once his eyes locked onto Jungkook. “Come on… You know what comes next.”

“Jungkook…” Jimin pouted after and held his bowl of cereal before getting up and sighing. “H-How long will I be out there?”

“Let's get up to ten minutes today.” Jungkook promised as Jimin's bottom lip began to quiver. “Do this for our date, Jimin~” The younger man urged Jimin to move forward as the older just couldn't deny it especially since his goal was being held above his head like bait. Jungkook eventually shoved Jimin out to the porch and sat him down by the wicker couches that were shaded under the ceiling of the porch. “Good luck, your ten minutes begin now.” Jungkook declared and finally backed out of the porch for Jimin to face this on his own. To anyone else, it was just a simple thing, but for him it felt like he was trapped in the abandoned B248 once again. However, Jimin wasn't afraid anymore and sat down on the couch to hold his bowl of cereal close as he began to eat after.

Jimin took a while to eat as he noticed a person jogging down the sidewalk and facing forward, not giving him a stare at all. Jimin sat there and held his breath each time someone walked by, he wondered if they would look at him or ask him many things that would fry his brain in a matter of seconds. After a good five minutes, Jimin began to panic and feel as if he was there for an hour, he continued to eat his chocolate Oreo-O’s flavored cereal and take deep breaths. He already prayed to hear the sound of Jungkook opening that door to let him know his time was up, but that took an eternity for him now.

“Oh, Jungkook… Please hurry…” Jimin whispered to himself and bit his own lip to close his eyes tightly. He didn't want to fail his lover again, so he sat there and remained seated. “Jungkook…” Jimin seemed to whisper his lover's name repeatedly until he calmed down and opened his eyes to see another person walking their dog across the sidewalk like nothing. Eventually, Jungkook watched the timer sound and he opened the door to see Jimin calmly sitting outside and holding his empty bowl in his hands happily. “I did it?”

“Of course you did! Ah, I'm so happy…” Jungkook whispered and hugged his lover against his arms happily. “I knew you could do it, my Mochi~” The sounds of Jungkook's praises made Jimin giggle happily and feel as if he was capable of doing so much more now. “Let's take a break before going to the grocery store. I don't want to overwhelm you.” Jungkook whispered and watched his boyfriend nod his head happily before continuing the hug over the wicker couch at the porch.

During the same hour, astronomers gathered at the facility on another day of work, but this time… The day seemed different. Taehyung noticed a crowd surrounding one monitor by his own station and this caused him to stand there and tilt his head until he caught Namjoon by the other side of the room. “Namjoon?!” Taehyung called out and hurried over to his best friend's side to tug him back by his arm. “Why is everyone so jumpy early in the morning?”

“I don't know… I haven't even had my morning coffee…” Namjoon replied and rubbed his own eyes after. “All that I picked up was the conversation on the Rocket B248-C12….I think there's something wrong with it.”

“W-What's wrong with it?” Taehyung worried as Namjoon tilted his head.

“I think we abandoned it in space and that's a hazard… We shouldn't have done that and we should have fixed it to bring it back… I guess that's the issue here now.” Namjoon whispered and folded his arms to listen further. Just then, Mr. Park rushed over to the monitor along with another astronomer by his side to take a good look at the earth's radar.

“The B248 is getting into the radar and sending waves into our system… it's causing the red light to blink again!” Mr. Park announced as other astronomers listened. “We need to fix that abandoned rocket soon… Not now, we have plenty of time before it becomes a threat… Around a good two years or so, but I think we should be setting up some training in a few months from now. Call in the astronau-”

“Mr. Park.” Called out an elderly chief of the K.S.C.U facility. The elder stood by the stairs in his black and white suit with badges decorated over his uniform as well. “Why do we need any other astronaut? No one knows that rocket like Dr. Park Jimin himself… He was the one stranded in it for an earth year.” The elder spoke as everyone grew quiet. “If anything… The only astronaut we can call is Dr. Park himself… Right?”
