Chapter 29: The closest Moon

After a while, Jungkook and Jimin sat close to each other by the table. In front of them was a hot bowl of ramen. It had steamed vegetables like diced scallions, broccoli, carrots along with boiled egg cut into two, beef sinking within the broth; along with the boiled noodles. The scent of boiled beef along with the ramen, made Jimin hungry since he had a long morning. With every meal, Jungkook enjoyed watching Jimin eat and bring up his appetite every time he ate. The man no longer left the bowl halfway finished; he ate more than that now and left nothing behind. Jungkook just found this great and that alone cheered him up every single time.

“Look at you, eating so much already. Is it good?” Jungkook asked as Jimin nodded his head with a big smile.

“Of course it's good. I made it since you just wanted to hug me and hold… my hand.” Jimin replied and made Jungkook chuckle to himself once again.

“You wanted to help when I specifically told you I had it under control. You're a hard headed, Mochi.”

“But I'm your hard headed...Mochi.” Jimin replied as Jungkook pushed his bowl of ramen aside to press his head down to rest over his own arms while watching Jimin eat. “Mr. Jeon, if you don't eat… I won't bake you cookies.”

“You? You won't bake me cookies? Oh, so you think you can boss me around; Your own caretaker. I'm not to be taken so lightly, especially since I'm the one that buys you everything and takes care of you until you fall asleep in my room. Even then, I don't let you go..” The boy spoke into a sly tone to his own voice, along with his hands gripping onto his chopsticks to give the older a smirk.

“What was… that?” Questioned the astronaut and bumped his right eyebrow up in confusion.

“Oh nothing.” Responded Jungkook and chuckled right after; leaving Jimin to tilt his head and look down right after to continue eating with the boy.

“I can… buy my own things, Mr. Jeon. I was… paid from my expedition and I want to get you something as thanks.”

“You're enough for me, you're my perfect thanks, Mochi.” Jungkook cooed and by there, he reached over to the head of the older and rolled his hair back. “I would have you now… But I'm just not myself at the moment.”

“How long will I wait, Mr. Jeon? Just know I only want to ask… I won't get tired of… waiting.” Jimin asked as Jungkook cleared his throat and pulled his hand away. “It's… okay if you still feel a little something for her. Lee-Young broke up with you today. Feelings are hard to get rid of once you don't… want them anymore. Especially towards someone you know you don't even have. I can wait… I understand… It all.”

“I'm perfectly fine, Jimin.” Jungkook answered and sat back against his chair to continue.

“I… hate it when you don't want to let me in.… When you want me to open up, I let you in. Yet, who am I to even ask...?” Jimin mumbled to himself and Jungkook heard it all. The boy hid his own secrets and didn't want to confuse Jimin. Jungkook just couldn't handle it on his own, so he knew Jimin wouldn't be able to understand.

“Please… It's nothing Jimin…” Jungkook whispered and continued eating. “I'm fine, really. Look, I'm smiling.” Jungkook said and faked a smile. He really didn't want any help, but deep down he had an itch that made him want to talk to Jimin all about it. Just as Jimin looked up, Jungkook moved his chair in to hug Jimin tightly. “If I don't tell you about it… It means I'm just not sure about it myself. Wouldn't it be better to look at the stars when there's a telescope?”

“Yes, Mr. Jeon… I understand.” Jimin whispered and hugged the younger back. Jimin didn't like how Jungkook hid his feelings away and knew Jungkook was going to get worse sooner or later. But until then, Jimin gave it his all to make the boy he likes, happy as he can ever be.

Later on, grey clouds swarmed above the afternoon skies as Jungkook glanced outside. He carried a book on constellations and tilted his head. All the boy wore the whole day was a burgundy sweater with grey sweatpants. As for Jimin, the older was laying on the couch to gaze out the other window and to the grey clouds up ahead. Wearing; just an oversized, white, soft, T-shirt with black, knee-length shorts hiding under the big T-shirt. But, his look didn't seal there; altogether he had on white socks that rose up his thighs under the black shorts. Jungkook laughed at Jimin's style earlier, so the man wore a red blanket wrapped around his smaller body to keep the young astronomer silent.

“It's going to be such a scary thunderstorm. Let's make cookies and take a break on reading about the constellation. Then, once it's done, we could watch ‘Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey'!” Exclaimed the boy happily as Jimin turned his head to let out a soft chuckle while he was still wrapped up in a red blanket.

“Ah, Mr…Jeon… I get that you're trying to get me… used to space now, but it's tough to like it. Don't waste our time through this. Focus on helping my hearing and me being outside in the crowd. I need to adjust.”

“Oh you will, Mochi. I just want you to see that the stars are harmless… You used to love them and you only love them when I'm around to stay by your side. I want that feeling to stick by you just any other day when I could be asleep and you're left in that room for one minute at least. I want to share so much information with you! Read so much astronomy books… We can even do our own research together…”

“It sounds nice…” Jimin whispered as he then stood up and looked at Jungkook as the blanket clung from his elbows. “I'll go change before you make fun of the socks you picked me.”

“-And they are adorable on you! Alright, be quick, Jimin.” Jungkook laughed and walked off to the kitchen so Jimin could change into something else. As Jungkook stood in the kitchen, he began to take out the ingredients to bake the cookies with Jimin along with small, milk chocolate chips. “Fuck… I think I left my phone in his room after my shower.” Jungkook whispered to himself and took a long pause. “I… think I should go get it-” The boy said and by there, his eyes locked onto a picture of Lee-Young hanging on a frame in front of the kitchen. This made Jungkook cut his own words off as the picture caught him by surprise.

“I'll pretend I don't feel anything after what happened with us.” Jungkook whispered to himself, grabbing the frame of the pictures and dropping it onto the counter, laying it face down. After that, Jungkook then walked down the hall where he then walked over to Jimin's room. By there, the boy then placed his hand on the door knob; forgetting to knock before he could even let himself in. The door was unlocked and once he stepped in, his eyes locked onto Jimin standing by the bed.

The older stood by the bed with his white, thigh-length socks and matching white briefs hugging his exposed and curved body. At that moment, Jimin then turned his head and blushed once he caught Jungkook standing there with his eyes gawking onto his exposed skin. Only showing his full torso, his thick and pale thighs just hiding halfway down his thighs. The way Jungkook looked at Jimin right there was like he wanted to see more, but he only backed up and blinked his eyes. “Why are you staring at me like… that…. Mr. Jeon?”

“Y-You… Caught me off guard, Mochi…” Jungkook whispered and by there, Jimin giggled and folded his arms. “He has no shame showing himself to me. For a virgin, I thought he'd be very conservative.” Jungkook thought and finally glued his eyes onto Jimin's face; no longer daring to look down for another second.

“Did you get the ingredients out? I still need to find my loose… joggers.” Jimin stated and sat down on the bed to look at Jungkook with his own left leg crossed over the right one.

“Don't look for it, just go with the shorts you had before. Or you can go in your underwear. It seems more comfortable like that. Just put on a T-shirt and you can come with me.” Jungkook mentioned and held out his hand. “I'm the only one here to see you like this.”

“O-Okay… Mr. Jeon…” Jimin blushed and threw over a white T-shirt before taking Jungkook's hand and walking with him to the kitchen. “You don't mind at… all?”

“No, Mochi. I just want to keep you comfortable. It's weeks you've been here, and you still hold back on doing things? Ah, Jimin don't worry about it. Let loose if you want to!” The boy urged the older and slowly placed the apron on him; helping Jimin tie the apron perfectly along his own waist after. “Ready?” Jungkook asked as Jimin nodded his head excitedly. The man then jumped on top of the counter and sat over the top to smile down at his view on Jungkook, ㅡwhich wasn't too far up since he was finally at the same height of the boy.ㅡ “I'll get the flour.”

“I'm supposed to tell you what to do, Mr. Jeon. I have…power over… you.” Jimin panted still after that fast stunt of his to sit on the counter at last.

“Ah, the only power you have over me.” The boy added on and then took out the bag of flour from the pantry. “It's the only time I let you take over me. Just this once and no other way. I rule over you in many ways. Ways that you-”

“Mr. Jeon… Stop!” Jimin spoke up a little louder and giggled behind his hand while watching Jungkook stand there with the bag of flour. Just then, Jungkook set the bag of flour down, opened it and darted his attention at Jimin.

“Stop?~” Jungkook repeated and played stupid when in reality, he felt his sadness melt into glee when he was with Jimin. It was an absolute game changer and Jungkook just knew he shouldn't have to let Jimin wait for too long. “I'll be the one that calls when to stop. Anywhere, anytime, any… Bed-” after that, Jimin giggled and kicked the boy, instantly making Jungkook grab a handful of flour in his hands and then blow it towards Jimin. Suddenly covering Jimin in a cloud of white flour over his hair, red face and pink lips now covered in the white flour.

“Jungkook!” Jimin started to giggle more as Jungkook then grabbed another handful, still leaving enough for the batch of cookies behind. The boy then threw the flour onto himself and made himself look more covered as if he used a lot to cover his dark brown hair, his cloud-like lips and pale face like before. “You idiot… You're wasting… flour.” Jimin panted as Jungkook gave out cute laughs that only triggered more giggles from Jimin. “Ah… S-Shut up! My lungs..” Jimin managed to huff in between his cute giggles.

“Fine, I'll shut up… and keep you quiet at the same time too.” Jungkook whispered as he then walked forward, dropping his hands onto Jimin's waist over the counter and then pulling him forward to share even the smallest personal space they had. Jungkook looked down to Jimin's lips, raising his hands up his shirt until he reached the man's face. By there, he cupped the older's soft face and pulled him into a sweet kiss within seconds.

“Mm…” Jimin hummed in between and by there, he smiled into their second kiss after a long wait. Jimin knew Jungkook was starting to let go of Lee-Young and save Jimin into his broken heart. Jungkook opened his eyes and then gave Jimin one more smile before going for another. They slid their own hands along each other’s torso to hug each other against their own bodies as they made out. Finally kissing after a long wait since Jungkook's situation was shedding a little more light into the darkness.

Jungkook began to think in his head, soft and bright colors, beautiful night skies along with bright lights of stars and thoughts on Jimin went wild. Everything Jimin represented to Jungkook, popped up one by one like bright, glowing, stars.

“His lips…” The young boy’s voice echoed in his own head. “They're so soft, gentle, perfect and plump. He was made for me… Born from the same star and now, all I see is the full moon in his gentle gaze. I may have said this man was just my bright star before, but he is now my moon, he alone carries the galaxy in his gem-like eyes and it makes me smile when I look at him. This is the closest I could ever get to a beautiful moon like him.”
