Chapter 26: Your bright light
Their lips were linked together for the first time as Jimin was placed on top of the younger boy, finally kissing the one he wanted. As they shared their first kiss, Jimin began to smile in between their kiss and giggle to himself each time he pulled away and had Jungkook moving his lips in once more for another kiss. All of this seemed too good to be true in Jimin's eyes; he thought Jungkook would never kiss him like this, but even during their first kiss, it made Jimin smile through it all.
Jungkook then stopped as he looked up at Jimin in his arms, breathless right after the kiss. “That… That was my first kiss, with a guy…” Jungkook spoke softly and dragged his hands down to caress Jimin's face softly. “But… I won't regret it, Jimin…” Assured the younger and those soft whispers sent chills through Jimin's body. It wasn't the bad type of chills, but the love chills he gained each time Jungkook would hug him close or whisper to him. By now, those feelings weren't as surprising as they used to be towards Jimin.
“Mr. Jeon…” Jimin whispered and just then, Jungkook kept his gaze fixed onto the older man. “What does this… mean for us…?”
“It means, I like you, Park Jimin.” Jungkook confessed and pressed his forehead against Jimin's. “Please tell me the same thing in return.” Spoke the astronomer softly. He could only wish to kiss Jimin longer. Not only his eyes were where the true star clusters sat in place, but his lips had the soft touch of a cloud and that alone tasted sweet to him.
“I like you, Mr. Jeon… B-But… what about… Lee-Young?” Jimin confessed and grew worried about the fact that he was swept up by the moment and kissed a man that already had a girlfriend. “I-I… I don't… want to steal you… from her…”
“If being with you means I'll have to leave her, then, I will. Until then, don't worry about it. Don't stress about anything else, I wanted to kiss you and I did.” Jungkook promised. He made leaving the one he loved, so easy. He made the kiss seem like it wasn't something to worry about when there was plenty to comment on. Jimin worried about it and looked down to feel like Jungkook wasn't his at all. He just shared a kiss and his heart throbbed for the younger, but guilt also filled him.
“I can't… have you..” Jimin whispered as Jungkook still held the man over his body. “Jungkook…” Jimin breathed in a desperate panic as Jungkook gripped him close and dragged his hand down Jimin's arm to finally reach Jimin's small hand. The boy then intertwined with it and looked into Jimin's eyes once more.
“Who said you can't…? Tell me, I want to prove them wrong.” The boy whispered and those words alone caused Jimin to blush as his gaze dropped onto their hands locked together. “I'll tell Lee-Young… Then you and I can be together. That's what you and I want...right?” Asked the boy and Jimin nodded his head so desperately. Words cannot describe how much he wanted Jungkook and the young stargazer was happy to kiss Jimin. He felt the glee of being with Jimin for two years even if he hasn't known Jimin for that long. Just the happiness he had with Lee-Young, was slowly stretching further away from him.
Being on this break from Lee-Young, made the astronomer realize that she was only a cold, icy, comet that grew lost before him once she stretched further away during their break. It made the boy think that the star he loved before, would eventually turn into a supernova within his heart; the gravitational pull was against them and only caused their love to die out into an explosion.
With that being said, Jungkook didn't officially say he and Jimin were a thing just yet. The boy tried his best to contact Lee-Young, but she ignored him and chose not to answer. Jungkook just couldn't keep kissing Jimin and holding his hand until he broke it off with Lee-Young since the boy only wanted to have Jimin now. It was until then, Jungkook realized those feelings weren't there temporary, they were going to be there forever and once he kissed Park Jimin on the lips, it was sealed for good. Jungkook has already fallen head over heels for Dr. Park, completely forgetting the real reason as to why he took up this job in helping Jimin all by himself.
After a meal together, Jimin was washing the dishes in the kitchen. He thought of his first kiss with his caretaker and knew he had to be patient with Jungkook when it came to breaking it off with Lee-Young. Of course, Jimin was in no rush, Jungkook and him had forever in every second spent together. He was well aware that Jungkook wasn't going to show his affection towards the older until he broke it off with Lee-Young, on the other hand, contacting her became so difficult. Even during the meal Jungkook and Jimin had together, Jungkook had his phone by his side, calling Lee-Young; but she never answered.
“Fuck…” Jungkook hissed to himself as he sat on the couch while calling once again. This was brought to Jimin's attention as he limped his way to the living room and moved the crutch against the ground. It was getting late now, and Jungkook was still trying to reach Lee-Young, but the call was always declined. “How many times will it take for her to finally answer? She doesn't even read my messages…”
“Mr. Jeon… give it… a break…” Whispered the older as he then stood in front of the younger. “Don't stress… about it… you have forever...with me...”
“I just need to let go of her… Or else I'll never do it. I've been with her for two years and I feel nothing… Why don't I feel anything? Did I ever love her from the start?” Jungkook asked and kept calling her phone.
“Mr. Jeon… I think… She turned her… phone off…” Jimin whispered as Jungkook let out a sigh and cupped his own face. “It's okay… if you can't break it… off with her… I can wait until… she finally calls back…”
“It's going to be so hard, Jimin…” Jungkook confessed as he then glanced up at the weak man before him. “Breaking up with someone you've loved for two years… Moving on is even tougher than that. I'm not saying I don't want you, it's just the road to make you mine is so difficult… But that's why I need to get through it. Everything seemed to change once I started to like you, Jimin… My view on Lee-Young changed but then… I feel like I'll miss her.” Jungkook answered and then let out a chuckle to himself. “I know, I'm confusing you.”
“No you're not. It's okay… if you feel that way... It's tough to move on. If it helps… just know that, I… promise you… I won't hurt you…” Jimin spoke softly as he then sat down right by Jungkook. “I'll wait… wait forever to be by you… But, I think…good things like… this takes… patience. So, we… will take time… until we become something… beautiful…” Jimin spoke. The man was gentle with his soft words and Jungkook smiled and the love in his eyes was never let go. He looked at Jimin like he was the only one in his universe, the lost comet in his life that warmed up as soon as he reached the sun; Jungkook's life by there changed.
Jungkook realized that there was many things changing in his own life. Things like his sexuality, his view on his relationship with Lee-Young and his view on Jimin changed. He wanted Jimin and the man felt the same way, only now… Letting go of Lee-Young was tough since Jungkook grew with her along the years. After this break, they would be no more and it almost frightened him.
“Jimin… What did you do to make me fall for you?” Jungkook asked into a whisper as Jimin smiled and showed his white, pearl-like, teeth to Jungkook. “Which reminds me… I wanted to know what you and Namjoon talked about earlier. Tell me.”
“We just… talked about our past… Then he went into… talking about me leaving… you if I… ever have another opportunity in… space…” Jimin told Jungkook as the boy then tilted his head, not showing a sign of worry, but an overprotective glare.
“Which you won't.” Jungkook cut Jimin off as the older nodded his head. Not really picking up that behavior from Jungkook right there.
“Of course I… wouldn't…” Murmured the smaller man as he then pressed his head against Jungkook's shoulder. “I can't wait… to walk… speak louder than this… speak in full… sentences and… listen to loud music with you..” Jimin whispered. Every little word made Jungkook grow excited to help Jimin. It made him feel like he'll have forever now with Jimin since they still had such a long way to go.
“So far, you're getting used to hearing stuff a little louder than you used to and you're eating more than before.” The younger included, running his hand in Jimin's hair and looking into his eyes. “I… want to kiss you again…” Jungkook whispered but he softly shook his head. “But I only want to kiss you, when you're officially mine…”
“That I can wait for.” Insisted the older and leaned in to hug Jungkook closer to his body. “It could take weeks for… her to finally… respond… to you… What did you… both fight about… anyways?”
“It was my interest in you. Once I heard about you, I just couldn't stop talking. Then, I met you for the first day and by there, I just couldn't stop mentioning you to her. She eventually got upset that I kept cutting her off and went a whole hour talking about you. So then, I didn't call her after that. We went on a date in a way that I can patch things up with her, but she stretched it further and grew upset.” Jungkook told Jimin and let out a sigh. “Guess everything changed there.”
“You're wrong… for doing that to… her… She had her… right.”
“Do you want me or not, Mochi?” Jungkook asked as Jimin desperately held onto Jungkook tighter. “Hm, I thought so.” Jungkook chuckled and combed his fingers through Jimin's brown hair. “Hey.. Do you want to try dancing? I'll carry you…”
“Dancing will… make me feel… sad… I can't walk..” Jimin whispered, facing Jungkook now and resting his chin on the younger's chest. “You carrying… me… will make me… feel so weak. Weaker than I already… am…”
“Then no dancing.” Claimed the boy and stroked Jimin's hair back. “Let's just lay here… In silence… calm and beautiful silence…” Whispered the boy in every breath. “You can sleep with me here if you'd like. I think we should share bedrooms if you're fine with that. I never had an issue.”
“I don't mind sharing… beds. Did you… share beds with… her?”
“No. She didn't like it and thought I couldn't control myself.” Jungkook laughed softly and Jimin felt the vibrations of his laugh echo within his chest. “I never touched her.”
“You're… a.. virgin…?” Jimin asked and blushed at how nervous he got from asking.
“Is there a problem with that?”
“N-No…”
“I see. Just because you and Namjoon probably done it a few times doesn't mean you can gloat about how I've never seen anyone naked.” Jungkook bickered and rolled his tongue along his own inner cheek. “I probably won't be good to you..”
“M-Mr. Jeon…. I-I never… I never did it before…” Jimin sputtered. Surprised Jungkook just chose to jump into conclusions like that. “Just because… I was with Namjoon… doesn't mean I… suddenly had… ’that’ ...with him.”
“Oh I see, you're those types of virgins that don't like hearing the word ‘sex' hmm?” Jungkook teased and made Jimin start to giggle over his chest like a child. “Ah, I'm teasing. Look how red my Mochi has gotten~” The boy chuckled and continued to roll Jimin's hair to mess it up continuously. “I should call you tomato.”
“Why do you… torture me… Mr. Jeon?” Jimin panted softly after his giggles. “What… did I get… myself into?”
“A perfect love story!” Jungkook laughed as Jimin continued to giggle in Jungkook's arms until, Jungkook held Jimin's hands with his and intertwined with them to look into his eyes. There was his light. The light of a bright star before Jungkook’s eyes wasn't in Lee-Young, it now shimmered within Jimin's cute smile. Along with his gleaming eyes of sweet caramel, and his red cheeks that blushed each time the young stargazer would make his only light of his universe, giggle cutely to everything he uttered.
