Chapter 15: A new Galaxy

It was finally a week after, Jimin was standing up with one crutch as he wore the same yellow sweater Jungkook gave him the week before, black jeans and white shoes as well. Jimin was more than ready to leave the care unit and finally see Jungkook after so long. It was 7:34 AM and the sun just rose; Jimin's eyes met with the elder gazing at him through the window outside his room as Jimin took gentle steps forward as he used one of the crutches to hold himself up.

“I'm finally going to see Jungkook… After so long, I haven't seen him for a whole week! I wonder… If he missed me too...” Jimin thought as he then glanced at the sink right by the corner of the room where his toilet was as well. There was a toilet, shower head and sink with cabinets there as well; all divided from the bathroom to his room with white dividers for privacy. Jimin lived in this small room everyday for a whole week and finally, he was allowed to leave once he was healthy and somewhat able to walk with one crutch. The feeling felt good to Jimin as he smiled to himself and started to walk out of the care unit. By there, Mr. Park would take him to Jungkook’s house since the young astronomer was placed on break from this day forward. -With pay, of course.-

As Jimin finally walked out of the room, he wrapped his free arm around with his father as he then glanced at him to smile happily. “Excited to leave this hell, aren't you?” Mr. Park asked. The elder was dressed in his blue vest over his white dress shirt, black fabric slacks; held up with a brown leather belt that also matched with his brown, polished and classy shoes. The elder always had his hair neatly brushed to the side and showed his bright smile Jimin inherited. “I'm happy for you. You were so quick to boost your health up so easily! I'm so glad.”

“I didn't want...to stay...there longer. I felt… scared with almost anyone passing by… to look at me through that window. I didn't have any privacy…” Jimin murmured with a quick huff in between. “At least my speech… Is getting better.” The young man stated softly as Mr. Park was just too excited to see his son walk out of that room healthy.

“We had to watch over you in case you collapsed or passed out. But now, I'm sure you'll have the best privacy at Mr. Jeon's house. I went yesterday to see the room he had for you and I think you'll love it!” Mr. Park told the young man as Jimin nodded his head. “Here, there's a crowd of news reporters waiting outside. Someone must've told them today was the day you'll come out of the care unit. Ugh…” The man muttered and then took out a black mask so Jimin could cover his mouth and nose from the crowd. “Oh, you need shades aswell.” The man added as he then took out the black shades from his pocket to place them over Jimin's eyes. Covering the astronaut's face completely. “You'll get better when you start living with Jungkook… Okay?”

“Okay… Is he.. Waiting for me?” Jimin asked silently and placed the mask over his nose and mouth before taking a look around the lab once they stepped out. By there, astronomers were just arriving and Jimin only grew nervous he might see his old best friends; the ones who ignored him for the past week. Jimin didn't expect to see them face to face, but at least exchanging glances through the window was fine enough… But nothing happened. Giving Jimin a sign that he wasn't wanted by his best friends.

“Yes, he's waiting for you at his place. I'll take you there.” Mr. Park assured. Once they passed by the lab stations, Jimin suddenly stopped as he then gazed at Namjoon and Taehyung walking in. The wacky duo always walked in by holding hands or by Taehyung getting carried by Namjoon on his back. Jimin recalled the time he'd walk into the lab with them by his side, but now the two walked together side-by-side; having eachother's arm around the other playfully. “Jimin…?” The elder asked and then looked to where Jimin's head was pointed at. “Oh! Your friends, why don't you say hello?”

“Father… Those aren't my friends…” Jimin whispered and peered down at the ground as Namjoon and Taehyung remained clueless that Jimin was there. That was until, They finally looked up to see him talking to his father. “I don't even know them…” The frail man whispered to his father in his normal murmur as Mr. Park nodded his head and began to walk while Taehyung and Namjoon were left to stare. Nothing in them struck them to walk forward or talk to Jimin. They stood there and waited for Jimin to then leave the building with Mr. Park.

“There he was… I thought I'd never see his face in here again!” Taehyung bickered with an angry pout once he turned his head to face Namjoon. “No wonder my Kookie Crunch wasn't here today! He's taking care of ‘his' Jimin. He doesn't want me anymore!” The younger complained and by there, his bottom lip began to quiver. “TELL ME HE STILL LOVES ME!”

“Give him a break already. He must be happy he doesn't have to put up with you always calling him your ‘Kookie Crunch' what are you, five? Anyways… Your so called ‘husband' wants us to patch things up with Jimin soon. Whether you like it or not, we have to do this.”

“Ah! Get your hands off of me!” Taehyung fussed and slapped Namjoon's hand away from over his shoulder. “You're the worst understudy for my Jungkook! You're nothing like him!” Fake cried Taehyung, making another scene too early in the morning. “-Okay, let's get back to work. I have distance to estimate.” Taehyung claimed and fixed his glasses before walking over to his station to throw on his lab coat after. “About that Jimin situation… I'll think about it, but I'll forgive him if I want to. It still gets me angry that those news reporters out there aren't surrounding me. Can you blame me for being jealous?” Mumbled the man as Namjoon stepped forward to drop his right arm around Taehyung's shoulder to calm him down before he was to cry and go into a rant about how good of a friend he was to Jimin… Only to get repaid with betrayal.

As soon as Jimin stepped out into the open, his eyes failed to see the green fields of the K.S.C.U. Only because there was news reporters surrounding him in every way. Their loud camera shutters, shouting questions and breathing almost hitting against Jimin's shoulder made Jimin swiftly cover his ears and begin to tear up as his face turned red under the mask and shades used to cover his face up.

“Astronaut Dr. Park Jimin, how was your 365 day trip to outer space? Any encounters?!”

“Dr. Park Jimin, are you going to sue the K.S.C.U for losing you in space?! Answer the best way you can!”

“Astronaut Dr. Park, what did you lose once you got here? Ability to see, walk? Please tell us all!”

All of the news reporters shouted at Jimin and made the boy scream inside his own head. The torture was there and all Mr. Park could do was shove the cameras from his son's face as security guards of the facility rushed out to lead Jimin to the car and have the abundant amount of news reporters moved aside with no questions answered. For that split moment, Jimin cupped his own ears and once he got into the car, he curled up on the back seat of the car and shut his eyes. Everytime he closed his eyes, he was back at the B248 and this traumatized him even more.

After a while, Jungkook walked up to the window and tilted his head as he bit into a red apple in his hand. Jungkook was already dressed in his white, loose dress shirt with only a front part tucked behind the silver buckle of his black belt wrapped around his black jeans. To top it all off, Jungkook wore black house slides and matching socks with them as he waited for Jimin's arrival. The boy stood there while staring at the window and down to the floor of the entrance where Jimin's white pairs of indoor slides sat. Jungkook prepared everything for the young man, he played delicate and slow instrumental piano music in the background; Debussy's Clair De Lune. In which, he hoped Jimin would like and not cover his ears from the noise. The young stargazer even chose his favorite, calm, and soft piano music on his playlist so Jimin could gradually get used to the music over time.

Lately, conversations with Lee-Young seemed to get better… But only now, Jungkook felt different; the way he thought of Jimin through every waking moment other than his girl seemed off and yet again, he had no deep affection towards the older at all. His heart still belonged to his Lee-Young, but at times… The hugs and kisses he gives the girl would always end with an off feeling to the boy. It was unknown to him, he hasn't felt like this for the past two years he's been with Choi Lee-Young… And things like this slowed Jungkook down into rethinking his relationship. Surely, he wouldn't see Lee-Young for a long time and he knew the consequences, but he never expected to go through this all because of the thoughts he'd get of Park Jimin ever since the failure of Jungkook’s date with Lee-Young a week ago.

As Jungkook stared at the house slides he purchased only for Jimin, Jungkook finished the apple and rolled his hair back. “He's coming and very soon, he'll be under my watch…” Jungkook whispered and went to throw the apple away in the waste bag within the trash. “At least I won't be lonely while Lee-Young gives me the silent treatment.” Jungkook then scoffed at the thought of how different things were with his own girlfriend. She was no longer upset, but it was only him who felt that things seemed to be different. Just a planet they shared before was only breaking slightly due to Jungkook’s thoughts on Jimin alone. “Ugh… I don't want to stop what we have… But I feel like… Ah, I feel like my thoughts on Ji-” Suddenly, there was a knock at Jungkook’s door as the boy stopped talking to himself and glanced over to the window where he could see Mr. Park’s car outside. “Guess I'll just have to think on it some more. I.. hope he likes classical music.” Jungkook thought as he then dashed over to the front door and turned down the loud piano piece on his Bluetooth stereo.

The young boy then pulled the door open to suddenly lock eyes with only Mr. Park. But where was Jimin?  Jungkook batted his eyes in confusion as he then took a glimpse over to the car still on while parked. “Good morning, Mr. Jeon.” The elder greeted as Jungkook bowed to the older man.

“Good morning, Mr. Park… Where’s Jimin? Is he okay?”

“He's in the car and he refuses to come out since news reporters were crowding the entrance of the facility and kept shouting. It really scared him. He's like a little puppy.” The elder joked around and pointed to the car. “He doesn't believe me that I took him here. He thinks I took him to see his mother and he's scared he won't be able to talk to her normally. He wants to be healthy to see her first. So, can you help?” Mr. Park requested. Jungkook then nodded his head with a smile and switched out of his house slides to wear his slippers to walk outside with. Not really allowing dirt to follow in his house even if it was for a small trip outside.

Jungkook then walked out of the house with his black slippers as he approached the car door where Jimin was curled up inside. Even through the window, he could see the older laying there and silently sobbing to himself; wishing he was somewhere quiet now. “Ah, Jimin…” Jungkook whispered and pulled the car door slowly ajar. Just as he did so, he had a better view of Jimin curled up on the car seats. This made Jungkook place his delicate hand on Jimin's thigh and slowly slid it up to Jimin's small hand that cupped his red face from the tears. “It's okay, Jimin… I'm here…” Jungkook whispered and those were the words and familiar voice Jimin actually wanted to hear in his silence.

The older dried his own tears and by there, he sat up and turned his head to finally look at Jungkook where the younger then pulled Jimin's shades off along with his mask. “Jungkook…” Whispered the fragile man; he never knew how bad he wanted to see the young boy after a week of waiting all alone. Next, the astronaut swiftly wrapped his arms around Jungkook to then pull him closer into a heartwarming hug; where the two blushed in sync once again.

“You're here… so, do… You like classical music?” Jungkook asked into a soft chuckle as Jimin smiled happily to hear the boy against his ear. Welcoming him to a new galaxy of their own.
