Dylan seemed like he had a crick in the neck.

"Are you okay?" asked Natalie.

Dylan replied, "Oh, I'm fine for someone who slept on the ceiling!"

"I said I was sorry," Marnie replied. She was leading them into the building, "Come on, guys, keep up."

Cassie ran forward, "You know, you don't have to show us where our classes are."

"Maybe not," Marnie said. "But everybody is counting on me. And I want to make sure that absolutely nothing goes wrong, okay."

Maisie noticed Cody walking up to them. Cody got behind Marnie, who turned around, "Hey."

"Hi," Marnie said. She turned to the Boo Crew, "Okay, go on ahead guys. You don't need me to show you where your classrooms are."

Maisie narrowed her eyes because she had to phrase it to make it sound like they needed Marnie's help, which was just rude.

One girl started, "Didn't she just say...?"

"Yes," Maisie replied. She knew that Marnie didn't want the crew to see this. She went to Kimberly, who was watching.

"She seriously blew them off to flirt with a boy?" asked Kimberly.

"Yeah," Maisie replied. "Must be nice."

Kimberly nodded, because she, too, understood what it was like not having guys flirt with her.

Maisie noticed Aggie in front of a window, waving at her to follow. So, Maisie said bye to Kimberly and went inside the building and to the chemistry lab.

Aggie had Maisie go to the window and look out to see a giant dagger painted right onto a pathway leading up to the school.

After waiting for a moment, Marnie walked in the chemistry lab, saying, "What is the matter with you? Did you not see the giggling? The twisting of the hair?" She chuckled, "Can't a girl flirt for two s – what is that?"

"A threat," Maisie pointed out.

"It's an iron dagger," Aggie explained. "The Knights' calling card. They know we're here."

"They?" asked Marnie, "Who's 'they?'"

Maisie rolled her eyes, "They Knights? Who else was Grandma talking about when she mentioned that it's an iron dagger?"

"Now, now," Aggie started.

"They don't exist," Marnie said. "I don't understand."

"Neither do I," Aggie said. "It's perplexing. I mean, why the warning? The Knights weren't known for playing fair."

"Sounds like they upgraded their policies," Maisie muttered.

"Well, it – it could be someone from Halloweentown, right? Who's trying to scare us?" Marnie theorized, "Someone who wants the portal closed."

"You think Kal came back?" asked Maisie. "For revenge?"

"I hope not," Marnie said.

"That's what we're going to find out," Aggie said.

"And if there really are Knights?" Marnie added, "Or at least Kal?"

"We have a lot more to lose than just our magic," Aggie stated, waving her fingers, conjuring up a sudden rainstorm to wash away the iron dagger. Aggie asked Marnie, "What do you know about that boy you were talking to?"

Marnie moved away from the window and shrugged, "I don't know that much about him. I mean, he's new and he..." She paused, "Oh, no. No. There's no way he has anything to do with this. I can't believe you would say that."

"Knock, knock," Principal Flanagan said, walking into the lab. "Is everything all right?"

Aggie said, "Fine."

"Yeah," Marnie spoke at the same time as Aggie.

Maisie nodded.

"It's fine, it's fine," Aggie said. She noticed how soaked the principal was, "Oh my my. My. Phil you're soaking wet."

Marnie seemed confused, "Phil?"

"This rain," Principal Flanagan said, taking his cap off. "It just – it just – it just came from nowhere."

"They do say you can't predict the weather," Maisie said as Aggie did a hand motion to stop the rain.

"So, Mai and I should let you get to your class," Marnie said to Aggie.

Aggie's bag started making sounds and Mai looked at it in horror as the bag had started walking towards the principal.

Marnie went for the bag, "Unless you want me and Mai to help stay and help. 'Cause we always help." She started shaking the bag to get it to put away its legs.

"Maybe you both can help Aggie move her things to a different room," Principal Flanagan said.

Marnie seemed confused, "Aggie?" She struggled with the bag.

Maisie didn't get Marnie's confusion, because sometimes teachers called one another by the first name. Principal Flanagan and Aggie calling each other by their first name was no different.

"A different room?" asked Aggie.

"I'm sorry," Principal Flanagan said to Aggie. "I'm gonna have to reassign you in light of—"

Marnie struggled with the bag and hissed, "Stop it! Stop!"

"—What happened yesterday in class," Principal Flanagan finished, looking over at Marnie.

Maisie pretended to shake Marnie's shoulders, so it looked like Marnie was telling Maisie to stop bothering her.

"Oh," Marnie said. "Is it about the parrot?"

"Yeah," Maisie agreed. "It was just an illusion because G - uh, Ms. Cromwell – was a magician."

Principal Flanagan was confused, "Parrot? What parrot? I'm talking about the llama."

"Llama?" Maisie and Marnie asked in unison, "What llama?"

"I thought this was a progressive school," Aggie said. Marnie struggled with the bag. "I'll have you know, not one of my students went to sleep."

"True," Principal Flanagan agreed, "Although one did get a little infection when the llama spit in his eye."

It sounded like Aggie accidentally conjured up a llama in chemistry. Marnie finally got the bag under control.

"I'd like you to fill in over the history department, as a favor to me," Principal Flanagan said to Aggie.

Aggie giggled, "How can I refuse?" She walked by Marnie.

Marnie whispered, "Here, take this."

"Give him to me," Aggie whispered back, taking the bag back.
