Girl Meets Yearbook.

Emily's POV

"Ladies and gentleman of the hallway," Farkle begins, walking in carrying a box with Riley.

"It's year book time!" Riley says cheerfully. Oh yay, year books.

I was sitting next to Maya on the bench, with Austin, Zay and Lucas. Austin moved to our school a few weeks ago.

Farkle handed me a yearbook and smiled at me, I smile back. He hands some to the others. I open it and look through it. "Yearbooks! Find out who we are and what everybody really thinks about us." Riley says.

"You wanna know what I think about you?" Maya asks Lucas.

"No I don't." He replies.

"But she really wants to tell you." I say to him with a smirk. Farkle sits next to me, holding his own yearbook.

"I don't really think you need to." Lucas says to the other blonde.

"I'm gonna do it anyway." She says.

"Don't do it."

They go back and forth, until Maya does. "Huh- hur- rrrr!" In his face.

"You okay now?" He asks her.

"Hmm. That was good." She says.

"You know what else is good? Yearbooks!" Riley exclaims. "All of our classmates say what they think of us."

"Yearbook, find out how we'll be remembered." Farkle says. "You took another nice picture you freak." Farkle says to Lucas. I laugh.

"Thanks Farkle, how will you be remembered? Did they do it again?" Lucas asks.

Farkle opens his year book and reads. "Most likely to be Farkle,,,, Farkle." He says. I sigh.

"I didn't think I'd win this year, but I did." He says.

"Don't they do this every year?" Lucas asks him. I nod.

"What does that exactly mean, Farkle?" Austin asks him.

"How should I know? They turned being me into a category." Farkle says.

"Hey, Riley won most likely to smile herself to death." Zay says.

"Aw, well. Who wouldn't wanna go that way?" She asks. "I mean when the time comes, why you gotta be a gloomy Gus?"

"Riles, I don't think they meant this as a good thing." Maya says to her.

"They're making fun of me, and they're making fun of you too." Farkle says to her. I frown.

"What?" Riley asks, smiling.

"Would you stop smiling?" Maya asks.

"I'm not smiling, Maya. This is my upset face. This is me smiling." Riley says and all she did was smile bigger.

"You know what, I don't care what they say." Farkle says.

"Good, you shouldn't." I say to him. He gives me a small smile. I can tell this bothers him.

"Neither do I." Riley says.

"I don't care what they say at all." Farkle says.

"Neither do I at all." Riley says then growls. "How does this stuff even get in there? We're the editors." She exclaims.

"What did you get Huckleberry?" Maya asks him.

"I got most likely to be okay with anything that happens." He replies. I nod, that is like him.

"How do you feel about that?" I ask him.

"Well, actually, I'm okay with that." He says. My point exactly. "Oh!" I roll my eyes and look for Maya or me in the book.

"I'm not all sunshine and rainbows. I have a dark side." Riley says. I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Let me see your dark side face." I say to her. She shows us but she just looks like a scared lost puppy.

"Aw." Everyone but Farkle and I say.

"Look, guys, we're not gonna make a huge deal out of this, are we?" Lucas asks us.

"Yeah, who cares?" Zay asks.

"Its only what everybody thinks of us." Riley says. I frown.

"What's more important to you? What you think of yourself or what others think of you?" Lucas asks her.

"What I think of myself. And what I think is that it bothers me what other people thinks of me." Riley says.

"Well, forget about it. It's not like you can just turn around and be someone new." Lucas says. And boy he better have regretted those words right after he said them because Farkle suddenly stands up. He rips off his clothes, revealing a new outfit. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and a black beanie he pulled out of his back pocket.

I look at my boyfriend, shocked. What the hell? "This is me now." He says.

"Farkle?" Riley asks.

"Nope, Farkle is gone." Farkle tells us. I frown. "You will never see him again."  He says.

"Emily, what did you get in the year book?" Zay asks me.

"Most likely to disappear after high school." I say then stand up, looking at Farkle one last time before going to class.

----------------------------------------

Farkle was up front in the room and I was staring at him. Well we were staring at each other.

The Matthews comes in, I tear my eyes away from Farkle as he asks. "Okay, what have we got here?" Cory asks.

"I'm Donnie Barnes." Farkle replie

"Really Farkle, out of all the names for your other personality, you pick Donnie Barnes?" Maya asks him.

"You don't get it, do you?" He asks her, then looks at me. "I'm Donnie Barnes, regular guy." He says. I look away from him, down at my notebook.

"No you're Farkle. Look, I'll prove it to you." Lucas says and goes to the desk, switching the sides of Matthews name plate. It says Farkle Minkus. Farkle switches it over another way to say Donnie Barnes: Regular Guy. Has Farkle been planning this? "How did you possibly do that?" Lucas asks him.

"I don't want to be most likely to be Farkle." Farkle says.

"But you're Farkle." Austin says to him.

Farkle looks at him then back to Lucas. "Face it, cowboy. There's a new pretty face in town." He turns to the class. "Thank you, I am... Donnie Barnes." He sat in his normal seat behind me.

"Are you gonna do something?" Lucas asks me. "He's your boyfriend, you have to do something." I shrug, a sad look on my face.

He sighs and turns to Mr. Matthews. "Are you gonna do something? Because this is where you do something, right? Are you gonna do something?" He questioned Matthews. "Is there a lesson? You go a lesson? Is there a lesson?"

"Iceland." He replies.

"Iceland." Lucas shouts and walks up to Farkle. "You all fixed? No? I don't think he's all fixed." Lucas says.

"Clearly." I say to Lucas.

"If it was Riley, you know you'd fix her." Lucas says to Matthews. "And Emily, he's your boyfriend, you need to fix it. Fix Farkle."

"Sit down Lucas." Matthews says, pulling Lucas' attention away from me.

"You know I'm right." Lucas says to both Mr. Matthews and I. He sits in his seat behind Maya.

I sigh and sit back in my seat. I notice Maya's amused look. Nothing about this is amusing.

"Iceland and Greenland, anybody?" Mr. Matthews asks the class.

"Iceland is a land of ice." Riley answers.

"Wrong." Mr. Matthews says.

"Then Greenland is a land of green." Maya says.

"Wrong."

"Then who cares? Stupid countries don't even know who they are." Maya says.

"The Vikings discovered this beautiful green country." Matthews says.

"I come from Vikings." Farkle says.

"You do?" Austin asks.

"You don't know me." He replies. I sigh.

"Okay. So, the Vikings, they didn't want anyone else taking their new country, so they decided to name it Iceland. Everyone figures it must be cold. Nobody wants to go there." Mr. Matthews explains.

"So they made everybody think of it in that way even though it wasn't true?" Riley asks.

"That's right."

"The another Viking comes along, Erik the red, and he discovers a lad of snow and ice. And he wants everyone to go there instead, so he names that Greenland and everyone goes there." He tells us. "That jerk."

"So you're saying the perception of a thing doesn't make it so?" Riley asks.

"I'm saying people are always gonna say stuff. How you react to what they say is what makes you the person you are." He explains.

"So, just don't react to what they say." I say.

"Correct."

"Just keep smiling." Riley says.

"Would you please? Lesson over."

"And nothing anybody says is ever going to make me feel any different."

"Hey, Maya, Lucas, congratulations on winning favorite couple." Yindra says.

Riley's facial expression changes. "I feel different."

"How is that possible?" Lucas asks.

"Yeah, Lucas and I aren't dating. Who here could possibly see us as a couple?"

"Everyone does." Yindra says. She's not wrong. Secretly been shipping them when Maya dated him for the ten seconds on the train.

"But we're alike." Riley says.

"And they're so different." Darby says.

"But we're like a summer rain." Riley argues.

"And they're like fire." Sarah says.

"Dad, remember when you said not to react?"

"Yes." He replies.

"I'm gonna react." Riley says and pulls her hair over her head and growls.

---------------------------------

We were at Riley's.

"Riley!" Maya says.

"Morosha M. Black." Riley says.

"No you are Riley." I say.

"Not anymore." She replies.

"Knock! Knock!" Farkle says from out side.

"Who is it?" I ask.

"Donnie Barnes." He answers.

"Nope, don't know anyone by that name. Hey, if you see a Farkle Minkus, tell him to call his girlfriend back." I say bitterly.

He climbs through the window.

"I hate to say this but I really miss "my lady" I say.

"That was a catchphrase, and Donnie Barnes don't need no stinking catchphrase. You know why? I'm Donnie Barnes." He says to me.

I sigh. I just want my boyfriend back. I understand wanting to change, but not his name and stuff.

The three continue to talk while I sit and think. What if they are right? What if it's better to change who you are?

"Emily." Farkle 'Donnie' says, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I ask him, my voice softening from how it was before.

"You wanna go to the café?" He asks me.

I look at him once more. "Yeah." I say. He stands up. "When my boyfriend comes back." I say then walk out of Riley's room.

--------------------------------------------------

I was sitting in my room, its been a few hours since I left Riley's. I asked Katy if she could get me something at the store, she did.

I sat on my bed, thinking. I was holding a box of hair die, well two. I think they are right. Change helps. It takes away the pain and heart break. I don't want to be known as the most scared girl. I don't want to be her anymore.

I get off my bed and walk to the bathroom with the hair dye and close the door.

---------------------------------

NOT THE OUTFIT, JUST THE HAIR.

I was in the hall after class the next morning. Maya decided to be Riley, and then when Maya was in mid sentence of saying something about Riley and Lucas, she stopped and went back to being Maya. Farkle is still "Donnie" and this all sucks. I love my new hair though. I was at my locker when Lucas walks up.

"Emily? You too?" Lucas asks me.

"I can't be that scared little girl anymore Lucas, I'm tired of being her. I'm tired of being scared to go to sleep at night. I don't want to be the girl you and Maya found in her room surrounded by glass. I don't want to be her. Not anymore."

----------------------------

Later that day, everyone was back to normal. Except Farkle. My hair was still the same though.

"You're Farkle, and its a state of being. There's only one, and everyone who cares about knows that. I know that, Farkle." I say to him. We were at Topanga's, with Riley, Maya, Zay, Austin and Lucas.

"I'm glad you changed for the good, Em. I'm glad you didn't change you attitude about things. I love you the way you are." He says.

"Woah." Zay says.

"So you're gonna come back too?" Lucas asks.

"No." Farkle says. I sigh.

"Why not?" Lucas asks.

"Because people change, Lucas." Farkle says. "I think you know that more than anyone. And I think it could be a good thing."

"What?" Riley asks.

"You don't have to call me Donnie Barnes. I made that up. My name is Farkle Minkus. I'm growing up." He says to us. He looks at me. "And I don't know what's gonna happen next. But you guys are my best friends." He says looking at our whole group. "So deal with it." He tells us.

I nod. "Okay."

------------------------------------

Later on, everyone left but me a Farkle. He was inside the bakery still though. I was sitting out side at on of the tables. I hear the door chime. I look and see Farkle walking out with two cups and two mini muffins.

He walks over to me. "Hey Em."

"Hey Farkle." I say to him.

"Are you still mad?" He asks me.

I shake my head. "I was never mad. I just wanted you to explain to me what was going on with you."

"I will now, if that's okay?" He says.

I smile and nod. "Of course it is."

"I got you a hot chocolate, and a mini blueberry muffin." He says and sets down the stuff, sitting across from me.

"You remembered." I say.

"Of course I did." He says. "I've known your order since first grade." I smile at him.

We spent most of the night there, just talking.

-----------------------

Hey, my lovelies. Sorry for not updating in like forever. I will try to update more. I miss this book. But anyways, what do yo guys think? So I changed her hair cause when I originally used the pick for one of her outfits, y'all wanted her hair like that, so now it is. THAT MOMENT, ZAY AND EMILY WERE THE ONLY ONE'S TO REALIZE WHAT FARKLE SAID. Please, please comment. Thanks for reading. Bye.

-Kelly.
