Chapter 2: Meet Bree
Jenni had not even made eye contact with Mary, and it didn't seem like she was going to. Mary waited until Jenni walked out of class before leaving. Mary was feeling numb and almost hopeless, but she was too afraid to approach Jenni all day. But here and now, watching Jenni walk out of her fifth period class, Mary managed to walk up to Jenni.
However, Jenni's priority was Mary at all.
Benjamin took a hold of Jenni's hand. "Ready for Mr. Renald's test?"
Jenni grinned. "Yeah."
Benjamin looked forward. "So what happened to Mary?"
"I don't know. She probably got sick or something. She never misses out on fun."
"She missed out on the fun we were having."
"Well, we didn't need her."
"I don't think you need her at all."
"Maybe. I don't know."
Mary froze with wide eyes. She bit her tongue, trying to fight back tears and turned the corner to get to her own class.
"I really like how she's carrying the organs in this picture." Bree smiled as she looked at a picture on a folder, twisting her blond hair. "Seriously, James. I didn't think you liked that band."
James nodded. "A lot of people don't think so."
Mary passed them and went to her seat diagonal from Bree. She looked up and saw and old women in a light green shawl. Oh great a substitute. Mary sighed.
Bree tapped Mary's shoulder, her blue eyes trying to look at Mary's chocolate eyes. "Hey, Mary. The sub said we can work together on the worksheet. Do you wanna work on it with me, James, and Lisley?"
Mary forced a smile. "Sure."
Bree frowned. "Here." She pulled out some money and handed it to Mary. "Go buy some tea and I'll share it with you." She smiled.
Mary paused, taking a back from Bree's kindness. She looked at the money and took it. As she walked to the substitute to ask to leave to the vending machine, she thought about how kind Bree was being. She wondered what made Bree want to share her tea. Bree never shared her tea before.
When Mary came back, Bree sat at the corner table. "Look Mary. I got you a cup while you were gone."
"T-thanks," Mary replied quietly as she sat beside Bree at the table. She looked at the worksheet they were going to work on. "Oh. This is level 2 stuff."
"Really? I never really paid attention last year."
Mary grinned. "I remember. You were copying Benjamin and I a lot of the time."
Bree nodded. "Hey, how much tea do you want?"
"Uh... half-full?"
Bree spoke as she poured the tea. "You look like you're having a bad day. Wanna talk about it?"
Mary froze, taking in how kind Bree was being. She didn't understand why, but she felt like she could open up to Bree. She felt like she could pour out everything to her. Mary nodded. "Yeah." She smiled.

Peter flew around London, watching his shadow fly under him in the moonlight. Tinkerbell spiraled around him as he landed on the roof he and Jack always met on. He smiled at Tinkerbell. "He's late again, isn't he?"
Tinkerbell crossed her arms and nodded.
"You don't think he's going to keep doing this, do ya?"
Tinkerbell shrugged.
"Well, I sure hope he's right about that teenager."
"I'm pretty sure I am."
Peter whirled around and faced Jack. He smiled. "Did you see her again?"
Jack shook his head slowly and grinned. "I want you to come with me, Peter."
Peter looked at Tinkerbell and she shrugged.

Bree felt restless and couldn't sleep. She sighed out got out of bed. She looked out her window and stared out at the stars, waiting for something, anything. Moments passed, and she only heard the chirping of crickets. She sighed, lowering her eyes, but then she looked back up, recalling every scientific thing she knew about them.
A dark object appeared at the left corner of her window. Her brows crashed together as she looked at it more. It looked like a big bird. She squinted and realized it wasn't. As the object came closer, she realized it was a boy. He smiled as he passed Bree's window. He loud out a crow cry as her flew away.
Bree's eyes were wide. "It... Was that..." She grinned. "Peter?" She opened her window, popped the screen, and leaned out a bit.
"Hey! Peter!"
She looked up and noticed a boy with a staff flying.
The boy laughed. "Slow down! Do you even know where you're going!?" He laughed and flew away.
Bree laughed to herself, sliding back into her room. She grinned, covering her mouth. "That was awesome!"
