WARNING!! A LONG CHAPTER!!
-
"You know, I kind of like your personality. You are much different from the other girls in school. You are gentle, calm, tender, and strong inside. You don't angry all the time, not like me. I think I need a person like you at my side."
That statement of a heavy and low voice made you regained your conscious. You found yourself laying on a bed inside a room with white walls and some chairs, a couch and a wooden closet. You looked around you, wondered who said those words while you were unconscious. You had a feeling that it was Jotaro's voice.
Yes, it was definitely his voice. But when you looked around, you could only see a young man with doctor uniform at your right side, and Jotaro was sitting on a couch at the corner of the room, with his arms were folded and the shadow of his cap covering his face. The couch was too far from your bed, so you threw away the guess that it was Jotaro's saying.
Or maybe it was just a voice from my imaginations, you thought.
The young doctor looked at you with some concern in his eyes. "Oh good, you are awake," he said as he put his stethoscope on your chest and checked your heartbeat. You knitted your brow as you gazed at the doctor.
"Where am I?" you asked.
"You're in the amusement park's clinic room. Your boyfriend brought you here when you lost conscious after riding the Coerce. It looks like that you didn't eat enough breakfast," the doctor explained.
You glared at him when he considered Jotaro as your 'boyfriend'. He put the back of his hand on your forehead and smiled. "You will only need some rest," he added as he pulled back his hand.
"W-what?" you asked. You felt like the world was spinning and it made you feeling very dizzy. You tried to erect your body, but your headache affected your energy. The doctor held your shoulder and shook his head. "No, you shouldn't move too much, Miss. You need to take a rest until you're feeling better."
You knew that you should take a rest, but you were thinking about your time with Jotaro. You could use this time to play another attraction, but instead you were laying on the bed, suffering some headaches and nauseous. And you didn't want to make Jotaro waiting for you just because you were sick.
When you wanted to say a word, Jotaro stood up and interrupted you while he was walking casually approaching your bed, "Just leave and take care another patient, Doctor. I'll make sure [Name] rests," he said as he raised his cap a bit, and his aqua green eyes palpitated your heart and shivered your nerves.
You pursed your lips as you glanced at Jotaro, and then you stared at the doctor, waiting for his respond to Jotaro's impolite offering. The doctor didn't feel annoyed with it, he was just nodded his head. "Alright, thank you ... um...."
"Jotaro, Jotaro Kujo," Jotaro answered as he sighed and walked closer to you, ignoring the doctor's impression when he heard the name. He looked a bit startled that the muscular man who was standing near him was the man who was famous for his bad attitudes. He couldn't believe that Jotaro would treat a girl like you nicely.
"A-alright. I'll pass," he said as he left the room. Jotaro's eyes were following him and after the doctor closed the door, he took a deep breath.
"How long did I lose conscious?" you asked.
"Two hours," he answered. "Now, have some rest, [Name]," he continued without any expression in his tone. You felt your heart was pounding gently when you heard his advice and you could feel that your cheeks were flushed. You stared at your left to hide your red face.
"To be honest, I don't feel sleepy ... I'm just feeling a bit dizzy, that's all," you clarified.
Jotaro stared at your for a few seconds in silence. You were tensed and you felt that kind of stomachache again. Then he said, "Just inform me whether you need something."
You nodded your head weakly. "Wait here," demanded Jotaro as he walked to the door. You knitted your brow.
"Where are you going?" you asked. Jotaro turned his back and stared at you while holding the door handle.
"I'm going to get you some tea," he answered as he tipped his cap and left the room before you could say anything. You curved a smile on your face for his action.
-
You couldn't deny that Jotaro is actually a kind man. He was really staunch. He sat on a chair next to you while reading his 'Mysteries Beneath the Ocean' book, and always ready to help you with anything, and he didn't even complain. He helped you without any expression on his face, neither tired nor annoyed. He even helped you eating your soup for lunch by holding the bowl and feeding you with the spoon. You felt like an unwell daughter and was taken care by her father.
You had to admit that you had to suffer some 'crush pains', like palpitating heart, stomachaches, flushing cheeks, feeling tensed and shivering. Sometimes you thought that Jotaro noticed it, but he didn't ask any questions about it, he was just ignored it and bent his head or lowered his cap.
Jotaro was also an easygoing man actually—when you were talking about marine life and countries with famous marine tours.
You thought to yourself that you didn't really have a bad day after all. A few hours later, you woke up and feeling healthy again. You stretched your arms and smiled at Jotaro, who was enjoying his book. You gave a small cough.
"Now I'm feeling healthy now," you said to him. Jotaro stared at you and then he closed his book and put it into his sling bag.
"Are you certain?" he asked while staring at you with his left eye covered by the shadow of his cap. You nodded your head. "Good. It's around three o'clock now. We still have four hours until the amusement park's fireworks...."
You widened your eyes when you heard the last statement. "Fireworks? They are going to launch fireworks??" you asked in astonishment. Jotaro nodded his head. You smiled cheerfully. You stepped on the floor, and suddenly you lost your balance and fell on Jotaro's torso. You felt that both of your arms were gripped by his large hands and your head landed on his muscular torso. You could feel some warm feeling under your face's skin and your heart was pounding hard.
"Yare yare daze ... watch your step," he said as he released his grip and lowered his cap. You stood uprightly and nodded your head. You took your sling bag which was placed on the couch at the corner and turned until you faced Jotaro who was on the other side.
"Well, let's not wasting our time. Let's go!" you invited him as you walked outside the room. It was a shame that you didn't notice Jotaro's grin when he saw your sudden cheerful attitude. He walked behind you with his hands were stuffed inside his pockets.
-
Four hours later....
"Come on! Let's see the fireworks!" you said cheerfully as you ran to the center of the amusement park, where people gather to see shows, parades and fireworks. You stopped for a moment and turned to Jotaro, who was walking casually behind you, didn't hie to see the fireworks. You pursed your lips when you saw his casual action.
"Why do you have to be in such a hurry?" he asked when he finally reached to you. You scratched your head, feeling rather confused at yourself. You shrugged your shoulders.
"I don't know ... maybe it's because that I love fireworks," you answered. Suddenly memories of your family came back into your mind, especially on New Year celebrations, your father used to launch fireworks at the front of your house. You even remembered your last New Year celebration with Kakyoin's family. You were really little, and you laid yourself on the grass with small Kakyoin, who was staring at the starry night decorated with colorful fireworks.
Your eyes were trickling with tears every time you remembered those beautiful memories, but then you blinked your eyes to push the tears back down, you didn't want Jotaro to see you cry.
Suddenly you and Jotaro heard a child's whimper nearby. Both of you looked around and you caught a little girl who was sitting on a bench with a balloon on her hand, crying. "Mommy ... Daddy ... where are you...."sobbed her.
You and Jotaro approached her, and you sat beside her. "Is there anything wrong?" you asked her as you caressed her hair. The little girl gazed at you with tears filling her eyes.
"I-I lost Mommy and Daddy...." She answered as she sniffled.
You put your hand on her shoulder and smiled. "Calm down now ... we'll search for your mom and dad, okay?" you tried to calm her down with a gentle tone. The little girl didn't answer and obey you, instead she warded your hand from her shoulder and moved further and bawled.
You thought that Jotaro would shout at the little girl for her annoying noise and slapped her, but instead, he walked closer to the girl and genuflected as he cupped his hands on her cheeks. The girl stopped bawling, and stared at Jotaro as she frowned.
"Listen, do not cry. I am sure that your mom and dad are not far from here. We'll search for your parents together, but do not cry, promise?" he asked with his gentle and sweet tone. The girl sniffled and nodded her head. "Good. Now, stay close with me and Miss [Name]. You're safe with us."
Jotaro held the little girl's hand and she jumped from the bench and followed him. You walked following them in astonishment. You'd never thought that Jotaro could be really gentle and sweet to little children. You smiled to yourself imagining him holding his child's hand, and they were walking happily and peacefully.
You, Jotaro and the little girl walked to the information room, and told the staff that both of you found a lost girl and asked them to inform the whole amusement park.
A few minutes later, a pair of husband and wife ran to the information room. The little girl named Felice ran to them and hugged the wife. The wife hugged her back and told her not to run away from them. The parents thanked you and left.
You took a deep breath and smiled at Jotaro. "I don't know that you can handle little children," you said.
Jotaro shrugged his shoulders as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Not really. I just can't stand children's whimper," he clarified as he walked away from the information room to see the fireworks clearly. "Come on, you said that you want to see fireworks. There they are."
You gave him a wide smile and ran approaching him and stood beside him. You saw many colorful fireworks in the starry night. Each fireworks brought memories from the past, made you feel mixed feelings.
However, you felt really happy that you could enjoy this moment with Jotaro Kujo.
"This is so beautiful," praised you as you clung to Jotaro's arm without you realized it and leaned your head on his arm, but a half a second later you realized it and pulled back your actions. Jotaro gazed at you in confusion. "S-Sorry! I-I-I didn't do that on purpose...."
Jotaro nodded his head and stared at the fireworks again. Suddenly you felt awkward with him because of your previous action.
-
You and Jotaro stopped at the front of your house. You turned at him and sighed. You gave him a small smile. "Well ... thank you so much for today, even though it was only a dare, I really enjoyed it," you thanked him.
Jotaro just nodded his head. "Have a good night," he said as he tipped his cap and left you in the quiet housing, while the night wind was blowing gently through your hair and his long jacket as if Jotaro saying farewell through the wind, leaving you behind in your mind as his tall figure disappeared from your eyes.
You had realized that it may be the last night you'd spend with Jotaro. That night, you were truly realized that you loved him. Tears were flowing from your eyes, and you sobbed in the middle of the cold night. Deep inside your heart, you were really thankful that Jotaro lost that game bet—it gave you a chance to get close with him, and you didn't regret any of it. Well, you felt a slight of regret that you didn't confess your feelings to him.
But it may be better that way.
You wiped your tears and curved a poignant smiled as you turned your back to unlock your house's door.
When you were about to turn the key, you felt two large arms hugging you tightly from behind and a hard chin rested on your left shoulder. You could feel the edge of a cap on the top of your head. You felt that you would shrunk when you were hugged by this large man.
The hug made you lost in your mind and everything inside your body didn't work as it was used to be when you realized who hugged you. Feelings were mixed inside your mind and it almost made your insides exploded like a bomb. You felt a shiver underneath your skin as the breath from that person was exhaling on it. The warm effect from the hug pervaded into your body and gave a boost to your heart. Your whole body were tensed and aware, but your face was in deep crimson. At last, you gave up in struggling to get out from the hug, you let yourself drown in the person's hug.
You glanced at your back, and you caught a pair of aqua green eyes.
His eyes.
Jotaro Kujo's eyes.
You were extremely confused. Didn't he leave me a few minutes ago? How did he get here so fast? Did he teleport or something? Is this a dream?
Jotaro gave you a slight smile while you were staring at him with indescribable expression. A few seconds later, he released his hug and stepped backwards. You didn't make any single move for a few moment, then you turned your back and faced Jotaro.
"Wh-what's that?" you asked. Jotaro smiled at you—a real, true smile, maybe from deep inside of his heart—and stuffed his hands into his pockets. Your heart was pounding hard when you saw his handsome, rare smile.
"A little finishing touch for this date," he answered as his face went back to his usual expression. But then, he gave you a slight smirk and tipped down his cap, and it made you flushed. "Good night, [Name]-chan."
