Neil - Won't you forgive your stupid Neil ? ( broken voice )

Now, Avni wasn't able to stop her tears. She was crying bitterly while he felt bad after seeing her tears. Her tears were always his weakness and today also he was cursing himself for giving this pain to his Avni.

He fell on his knees and held Avni's hand. Avni was shocked with his action and actioned him to get up but he nodded negatively.

Neil - I don't know whom to blame Avni. I don't know. Was that immaturity which provoked me to take this wrong decision ? Or my oversized ego which always kept me away from you ? I am guilty ( tears coming out from his eyes ) guilty for giving you this pain. I loved you, I love you and I will always love you from my heart and soul but my ego dominated that love and I ended up hurting both of us. In all these years, I have undergone the same pain of separation just like you. I doubted my love, I trusted everyone else over her, I did wrong with her. I know, I don't deserve you anymore. But please give me my Avni back. My life have become a mess without you. I am not having that friend who used to be my listening board, with whom I can be myself. I want her back. Please forgive me Avni. Please. ( crying bitterly ).

Avni couldn't take this anymore, she knelt down and took him in a bone crushing hug. He hugged her back with all the love he have for her and they both cried their heart out, the tears which they were suppressing since all these years finally came out as they found their perfect partner.

After few minutes, Avni broke the hug and looked at Neil. She wiped his tears while he wiped her tears lovingly.

Avni - I know we both have suffered Neil and our feelings are still the same but .... but .... with passage of time things have become awkward between us. Please don't take me wrong, I don't trust you now. ( teary eyes )

Neil - I don't want it that easily Avni, I want to earn your trust again Avni. I want one chance. I won't let you down this time.

Avni - I am ready to give you a chance Neil but I am afraid that you will again break my heart.

Neil - I won't, I know you are finding it hard to trust me again but please Avni please give me one chance.

Avni - You know I love you and I will always love you. You are my first and the last love still you broke up. I ....I.... ( stammering ) I don't even know why you broke up with me.

Neil - I always curse myself for that day Avni. ( crying ) I doubted your love for me though I knew how pure your love is,  still I...I.... committed that blunder. Hit me Avni, why are you so polite with me even after knowing that I judged you.

He took her hand and started hitting his face with her hand. Avni was shocked and jerked away her hand from his grip. She held his shoulders and shook him.

Avni - Are you mad Neil ? What's wrong with you ? ( cups his face )

Neil - I need you. I need you the most. ( crying )

Avni - Why you broke up with me ? ( broken voice ) When you love me like a maniac then why you did that ?

Neil - You will hate me if I will tell you   the reason and I can't take your hate Avni. ( teary eyes )

Avni - I won't. ( held his hands )

Neil - You will, I won't tell you cos I can't afford your hate now. Please Avni . ( crying )

Avni - Neil trust me, I won't hate you even after knowing the reason. I can't hate you stupid cos my love won't allow me to do that. Come on tell me.

Neil bowed his head down.

Avni - For improving our present we need to sort out our past issues Neil. For a new start we have to end that painful past.

Neil looked into her eyes with welled up eyes.

Neil - Promise me you won't hate me. ( quivering lips )

Avni - I won't. ( wiping his tears )

Neil told her everything and she was numb after listening the reason.

Avni - Somewhere it was my fault as well.

Neil looked at her with shocked expression.

Avni - I should have told you about Danish before.

Neil - No, you are not at fault Avni. It's my fault, I.... I... should have cleared that misunderstanding, I should have asked you about the same but I judged you unnecessary and due to this I lost you. It's all my fault Avni. You are not at fault. I was egoistic that's why I lost one of the  most precious relation of my life but now ... now I am trying to ... I am trying to work on myself. I will become a better person Avni.

Avni - This communication gap have increased the awkwardness Neil. How will we manage now ?

Neil - Give me one more chance, with your support we will make everything normal.

Avni - I don't think it's the right time to think about a new relationship.

Neil - Even I don't want to rush things between us. I want to start it from beginning, let's start our journey as friends.

Avni - A new story. ( smiles )

Neil - Same story but with different ending and alot of changes. Changes which will increase its essence.

Avni - Let's give it a try. We will start as friends. ( smiles )

Neil again engulfs her in a tight hug.

Neil - Thank you for giving me this chance Avni, I won't let you down

Avni hugs him back and caress his head for calming him.

Neil - I love you. ( hugging her more tightly )

Avni became numb, she felt the same emotion which she felt for the first time when he confessed his love.

Neil - I know we both are friends Avni but I can't stop telling you how much I love you. I have waited for so much years, now I can't wait anymore. I will always confess my love and the day you will reply me back, I will understand that I have gained your trust and forgiveness. When you will be ready for a relationship, that day you can confess your love for me.

Avni smiles at his antics and hugs him more tightly. After sometime they broke the hug and Neil cups Avni's cheeks.

Neil - Thank you.

Avni - Oye !! Stop chanting thank you or else I will spoil your face with my punches.

Neil chuckles and plants a soft kiss on Avni's cheek. Avni looked at him all shocked.

Neil - What ? You want to spoil my face, now you are having a perfect reason for the same. ( winks at her )

Avni frowns at him.

Neil - I can kiss my bestie, right ? By the way we recreated our memory. ( smiles )

Avni's face became crimson red after remembering their moment. She smacks his shoulder while he giggles.

Avni - Years changed but Neil Khanna's naughtiness remain the same.

Neil - And your blush also remain the same. ( smirks )

Avni - You won't change. ( giggles )

Neil - And you have to bare me now.

Avni - I would love to do that.

Neil again hugs her.

Avni - God !! How much hugs you need in one day ?

Neil - I am doing compensation for all the pending hugs.

Avni giggles.

Avni - Thanks for the friendship band. ( smiles )

Neil broke the hug and looked at her.

Neil - Riya told you.

Avni - No, only you know about my choice. So, I understood that you are the one who gave that band to me.

Neil - Then thanks to you as well for sending a beautiful band for me.

Avni smiles.

Avni - Come on let's go now.

Neil nods.

They both went inside party hall and their friends were very happy to see them together.

Riya - So, a new start of your relationship. ( excitedly )

Neil - No, we will start as friends.

Riya - That's nice. ( smiles )

Soon the farewell party came to an end with lots and lots of emotions and memories.

Board examination were approaching, everyone was busy with the preparation.

Yet another day
4 : 00 AM

Avni was sleeping after studying hard till 3 am. Her sleep was disturbed when her mobile started ringing. She stirred in sleep and reverted the call.

Neil - Hello Avni.

Avni - Neil, ( she got up with a jolt ) You are awake. ( shocked )

Neil - Ofcourse, were you sleeping ?

Avni - Its 4 am so obviously I was sleeping. ( rolling her eyes )

Neil - I thought you will be studying.

Avni - I finished my revision.

Neil - Cool, help me then.

Avni - Now ?

Neil - Yes, I need help in chemistry.

Avni - Like seriously, early morning you will make me remember all the chemical reactions. ( yawns )

Neil - Help me na. Please.

Avni - Okay.

Neil - I will videocall you.

Avni - Fine.

Neil video called her and she received his call.

Neil - How you manage to look so cute ? ( battling his eyelashes )

Avni - Like seriously, you are flirting with me at this time. ( unbelievably )

Neil chuckles.

Avni - Tell me your doubts.

Neil told her and they both started discussing the topic. Avni made him understand the topic in the easiest manner and after two hours, they ended the call and slept.

Days passed by and their first exam came. Neil was nervous while Avni was calm. They both met at examination centre and wished all the best to each other.

Soon exams ended and now everyone was busy in deciding the  course they want to proceed. Neil wanted to do engineering so he applied for several colleges. He got admission in one of the best college in Delhi while Avni decided to apply for psychology and she got admission in Bangalore.

Avni and Neil decided to meet before they both leave for their respective colleges.

They both were sitting in a cafe with sad looks on their faces.

Neil - I don't want to go.

Avni - Why are you saying like this ?

Neil - I want to be with you.

Avni - Its okay, we both will stay in contact.

Neil - Promise. ( smiles )

Avni - Promise. ( smiles )

Neil - Avni.

Avni - Hmm.

Neil - I love you. ( smiles )

Avni smiles back at him.

Avni - I will miss you.

Neil - Me too.

The next day they both left for their colleges. It took them few days to adjust themselves with the new environment, both were in touch with each other. They used to talk to each other during evening. They both became good friends with their respective classmates and roommates as both were living in hostel.

Love was increasing with separation as both used to miss each other but at the same time jealousy used to irritate their poor hearts and this led to alot of fights but at the end of the day both used to pacify each other as they don't want to loose this relationship again.

Whenever, Avni used to post pics with her friends, Neil used to be jealous of the boys who were Avni's friends and same goes with Avni, she used to get jealous whenever he posted pics with his female friends. These little cute fights always helped them in understanding each other's values in their lives.

Few months passed and Neil was waiting for the day when Avni will get ready for starting a relationship with him. It was weekend so he decided to visit Avni. He applied for 5 days leave as he wanted to meet her badly. He visited Bangalore and called her.

Neil - ( at call ) Hey Avni.

Avni - Hi Neil.

Neil - Where are you ?

Avni - I am in hostel. Why ?

Neil - Can we meet ?

Avni - Meet ? Wait, you are in Bangalore. ( excitedly )

Neil - Yes.

Avni - I am coming. Where are you staying ?

Neil - I will message you my hotel's location.

Avni - Done. ( happily )

Avni arrived at his hotel and he pulled her into a tight hug.

Avni - I missed you so much.

Neil - Even me. ( smiles ) I love you so much.

They both stayed like that.

Neil - Can you apply for leave of 5 days ?

Avni broke the hug and looked at him.

Avni - You are here for 5 days ?

Neil nods.

Neil - I wanted to spend some time with you. I will book your room here if you will apply for leave.

Avni - Okay, I will. ( smiles )

Neil - Great then.

Those five days were full of memories. They used that time for visiting the most attractive places of Bangalore and every place gifted them a worth cherishing memory.

This timespan felt so short. Avni and Neil were packing Neil's bag as he was having his flight. Avni was very sad but didn't showed it on her face.

Neil - I should leave now or else I will miss the flight. ( smiles )

Avni - Thanks for coming here. ( smiles )

Neil - Anything for you.

Neil hugs her while she hugs him back and buries her face in crook of his neck.

Neil - I love you Avni.

Avni - I love you too.

Neil's eyes widened, he broke the hug and cupped her cheeks.

Neil - You...you...

Avni - I am ready. ( smiles )

Neil joins his forehead with hers and they both felt each other.

Neil - Thank you.

Avni kisses his hands while he kisses her forehead lovingly. They both left for airport.

They were standing in an isolated corner a little away from the airport.

Avni - I will miss you. ( glassy eyes )

Neil - Don't cry please. ( wiping her tears )

Avni - We will meet again.

Neil - Very soon. ( smiles )

Avni hugs him while he embraces her in his tight grip. After breaking the hug, Avni crashes her lips on his, he was shocked at first but eventually responded to her. Their lips were moving in perfect sync and both were devouring each other's taste. Soon they parted away and were breathing heavily.

Avni - A small return gift from my side. ( smiles )

Neil - Most memorable gift. Our first kiss and your bold side. ( winks at her )

Avni hits him with her elbow and pouts. Neil kisses her pout.

Neil - Bye and love you.

Avni - Love you too.

With that he left.

After few years, avneil were well settled and were doing a great job in their work field. Fortunately, both got their jobs in Mumbai so they were able to spend a good amount of time with each other.

One day, they decided to tell their families about their relation. Their families met each other and their marriage was decided. Soon they both got married and now they were living a happy and peaceful life.

Avni - Neil we learnt alot of things from our life. ( wrapping her arms around his neck )

Neil - Ego is the death of relationship Avni, it took me alot of years to understand this. I was fortunate enough to get this second chance but everyone doesn't get this second chance.

Avni joins her forehead with him.

Avni - Thanks for being my soulmate. ( smiles )

Neil - Thanks for making me a better person and for accepting me as your partner. ( smiles )

Their was a complete silence for sometime, until Neil decided to break it.

Neil - Such a plain ending to our story.

Avni - What you want ?

Neil - umm ... !! ( thinking ). How about kissing under the moonlight ?

Avni - You and your single track mind. ( rolls her eyes )

Before she can speak further, she felt his lips on hers.

They both are lost into each other so let's not disturb them.
