Chapter 19: Papa

Tony and Rhodes sat in the carriage, cuffed and shackled. Gaston held the doors open, "Last chance Stark, just give me your daughters hand."

Tony scoffed, "Go to hell."

Gaston slammed the doors and locked them, "Take them away."

"NO!" Gaston turned to see Belle and Kate ride in, jump off, and ran to the carriage with Vision, "Papa! Are you alright?!"

"Belle! Vision! Your alright!"

Belle looked at Ross, "Why are you doing this?! Let him out at once!"

Kate moved to intervene, or smack some sense into Ross, when the villagers held her hands behind her back.

"I'm afraid I can't do that Mrs. Stark, but don't worry, we'll take good care of him."

"Our father is not crazy!" She casts her eyes in Gaston.

Ross had a straight face as he said, "He was shouting about a Beast!"

Vision stepped forward, "Its true! We were just with him, we came from his castle! You know of his presence at Leipzig!"

Ross shook his head, "You two would say anything to save your father's skin."

Gaston placed a hand on Belle's shoulder, "Poor Belle, its a shame about your father."

She turned and gripped his shirt, "You know he's not crazy Gaston!"

"I maybe able to persuade them to let him go...if,"

Her face scrunched in confusion, "If what?"

"If you marry me."

"What?!" Anger and shock mixing together in her voice.

He grabbed her and she resisted, "One little word Belle, that's all it takes!"

"Never!"

He quickly pressed his lips to hers and she gave him a right cross. Vision stood protectively in front of her as Gaston stood, "Have it your way! Take the old man!"

Belle panicked. She quickly ran to the horse and pulled out the mirror from the satchel, "You want proof?! I'll show you proof!" She held out the mirror in front of her like before and almost shouted, "Show me The Beast!"

The mirror glowed green and she turned it around, everyone gasped in horror as they looked at the Beast's image, all but Ross who scowled.

"Is it dangerous?!" A villager piped up.

"Oh no! He'd never hurt anyone! Please, I know he looks frightful, but he's really kind and gentle." She looked down into the mirror and traced its frame, "He's my friend."

Gaston looked at her with envy in his eyes, "If I didn't know better I'd say she even cares for this monster!"

Belle looked up at him with fury, "He's no monster Gaston, you are!"

"The Beast has clearly messed with her mind!" He grabbed the mirror from her grasp, "Hell make off with your children!" He shouted at the townsfolk, "Hell come after them in the night!"

"No!"Belle yelled, trying to assuage their fears.

"Were not safe until his head is mounted on my wall! I say we kill the Beast!"

"Kill him!"

"Were not safe until he's dead!"

"He'll come stalking us at night!"

"Set to sacrifice our children to his monstrous appetite!"

"He'll reek havoc on our village if we let him wander free!"

Gaston grabbed a torch and stood on the wagon, "So its time to take som action boys, it's time to follow me!" He through the torch into a stack of hay and set it ablaze. "Through the mist, through the wood, through the darkness and the shadows it's a nightmare but it's one exciting ride. Say a prayer, then we're there, at the drawbridge of a castle and there's something truly terrible inside! It's a Beast! He's got fangs, razor sharp ones! Massive paws, killer claws for the feast! Hear him roar, see him foam, but we're not coming home till he's dead. Good and dead! Kill the Beast!!!"

Belle ran forward tried to grab the mirror, "No! I won't let you do this!"

"If your not with us, your against us!" He grabbed Belle's wrist and threw her into the carriage with her father, Vision not far behind (cuffed with special ones that prevented him from phasing, courtesy of Ross). "Can't have them running off to warn the creature!"

"Let us out!"

"Well rid this village of this Beast, who's with me?"

The villagers cheered while Gaston turned to his sister, "I'll tell you one time, go home Kathleen."

"It's Kate and this is insane! I'm not going anywhere!"

Gaston motioned at the men holding her and she was tossed in with the others. Gaston locking the carriage himself while the villagers lit torches and Ross stood by, smug smile on his face.

"Get your torch, mount your horse!"

Gaston swung himself on a black horse, "Through your courage to the sticking place!"

"Were counting on Gaston to lead the way!" Gaston led them as they marched through the night, villagers mixed with military, Ross and LeFou on horses beside him. "Through a mist, to the woods, where we see a haunted castle, something's lurking that you don't see everyday. It's a Beast, just as tall as a mountain, we won't rest till he's good and deceased. Steady forth, tally ho! Grab your sword, grab your bow, let's get on and here we go!"

"We'll lay siege to the castle and bring back his head!" Gaston pulled out the mirror, "Show me the castle." The mirror glowed green with its location.

"We don't like what we don't understand, it fact it scares us, and this monster is mysterious at least. Bring your guns, bring your knives, save your children and your wives, so save our village and our lives! Let's kill the Beast!"

Back at the castle the rogue Avengers and the objects were sulking. Cogsworth prance daround, "I new it, I knew it was foolish to get our hopes up."

Lumiere crossed his arms, " Maybe it would have been better if they didn't come at all."

The footstool barked and ran towards a window. Mrs. Potts and Chip followed, "Could it be? Is it she?!"

They all stood outside the windows to see Gaston and the mob march their way. "Sacra bleu! Invaders!" Lumiere shouted.

Steve pointed down at Gaston, "And they have the mirror!"

Cogsworth straightened up, "Warn the master, if it's a fight they want then we'll be ready for them, who's with - ah!" He turned to see everyone had already left.

Gaston pulled Ross aside, "You can have the Avengers, but The Beast is mine!"

Everyone in the castle began to barricade the front doors, "Find a place, stand aside, we go marching into battle unafraid of things you just decreed!"

The mob began to ram into the doors, "Raise this ran, sing this song, here we come at fifty strong! If fifty Frenchmen can be wrong! Let's kill the Beast! Kill the Beast! Kill the Beast!"

Mrs. Potts came up to Beast who was still on the tower, "Pardon me Master."

"Leave me in peace."

"But sir! The castle is under attack! What shall we do?!"

Beast just sat and stared at the light of the torches below, "It doesn't matter now, just let them come." He heard her hop away and he remained seated, prepared for them to come to him, prepared to die.
