▶Chapter 9: We Are Innocents◀

I quietly walked into the room where the two new girl's had been in. I saw Laurance.

Laurance looked at me, "Hey Christy," He smiled lightly.

The girls looked at me, one very surprised and one just flat out emotion.

"Either you're really fat or you're pregnant," The girl standing said, making me giggle.

"I'm pregnant, silly," I said softly to her.

She made an 'o' with her lips as she giggled.

"Congratulations then, ma'am," The girl on the bed said.

I smiled softly, "Thanks," I said softly to her.

Laurance chuckled before leaving the room, leaving me with the girls.

"Hey... Are you okay," The bed girl asked as I walked over.

"Well, as okay as I'll ever be when someone tries to kill ya," I said softly, giggling lightly.

The girl standing had her smile drop, "Who would try to kill you? You're really nice."

I smiled softly, "Someone who is a little priss and came back from the dead."

"Lily," The bed girl said, "I knew it..."

I grew confused as I looked at her, "What do you mean?"

"Lily always talked about getting her husband back. She was a little priss as well," The bed girl said.

"How do you know," I asked softly.

"She was one of our instructors in the Nether," The girls said together.

My eyes were soft, "I am so sorry that... She was that for you guys..."

They fell silent for a few moments, "It's alright..."

It was quiet again between the three of us.

We talked about who we were and, a mini backstory of each of us as an introduction.

They amazed me.

(y/n) and Sasha were like sisters. Growing up with each other...

Except (y/n) losing her dad and her mom... Wow...

"What about you, Christina," Sasha softly asked me, looking towards my direction.

"Well... I may or may not have run away from my family with my older brother," I said softly.

"Why would you," (y/n) asked me lightly.

I shrugged softly, "I didn't like people controlling my life."

The girls were nodding as I continued to talk to them, going off on a story from when I first came to Phoenix Drop. The girls both giggled, "Seriously?"

I giggled, "Mhm. And my brother was just so irritated at the fact that him and Aaron couldn't talk without fighting just makes me laugh. They still don't get along."

(y/n) laughed lightly, "I can see that. Your brother seems like that type of person."

I smiled lightly, "Yeah... Garroth is a nice person but, very over-protective of who he cares about."

(y/n) nodded once again. She sighed before sitting up again.

Sasha looked at her.

"Am I interrupting anything?" A voice asked from the doorway behind us.

I turned around softly, looking at the man.

"No, you aren't Garroth." I said softly.

Sasha looked at him before she giggled.

Garroth raised a brow in confusion.

(y/n) looked at her friend with a soft laugh.

My brother looked at me, looking for an answer before I laughed.

"I wouldn't question it, big brother."

He slowly nodded before he walked up to them, "Well, I was told to escort Sasha back to her home... so..."

(y/n) looked at him with a soft nod, "Alright..."

Sasha hugged her friend before Garroth led her out, leaving it just me and her.

"How was your family back home?"

I looked at her in confusion.

"In O'Khasis... what was it like in your family?" She looked at me, her face soft, looking at me.

"Well... um..." I looked at her. "My family was the Ro'Meave branch. They are the rulers of O'Khasis. My father is Lord Garte."

(y/n) nodded.

"Garroth is the oldest son of our family. We have two brothers, Zane and Vylad. Um... Garroth was going to be forced into lordship of the city-state and... I, was going to be married off." I said softly, "Momma had once ran off before because of dad's tyrancy and, that's where Vylad had come from. Though, she came back... We left two years ago and... it was mostly because of those two reasons."

(y/n) nodded softly. "I don't remember my mom very much. I was kidnapped when I was younger... but... that's how I got to find my dad so..."

I gently smiled to her, "Tell me about it," I said.

(y/n)

"I know I had an older brother... Because I remember when it happened that, my mom and brother were yelling..." I softly said.

Christy nodded softly, listening.

I closed my eyes. I could remember it clearly, "Someone in red was running, holding me... After that... I was on an altar-like thing, Sasha beside me on another one... and Dad there. He told me that he was sorry and... he looked hurt of what he was doing..."

I sighed softly. "My dad died a few years ago. I don't know what happened though, no one ever told me or Sasha... Sasha's father was a tyrant, wanting Sasha to be the better one of us... he used to beat me when I was better." She looked at me.

"Sasha never wanted to do it, did she?" Christy asked.

My head shook softly, "She knew I was good and supported me. We both tried our best and, we both grew up getting better..."

Christy looked at me, "How did you end up like this?"

I bit my lip, "Laurance and that lady came and... her father saw that I was the one taking care of it and Sasha wasn't so... he decided to throw me and, I got knocked out. That guy... Laurance?"

She giggled, "Yup. That's his name."

"Yeah. Laurance brought me here... And... that's a basic summary of the past few days and years."

Christy nodded, "That's really interesting..."

I giggled lightly, "Yeah... Life is crazy."

She smiled, "I can understand that."

We both sat in silence again. I closed my eyes softly, the silence so much better than bubbling lava.

Christy's footsteps slowly walked over to me. I didn't open my eyes. She lightly put a hand on my head.

"Are Shadow Knights warm or cold usually? Or is it the same as people who aren't?" Christy asked.

"Usually warm? I don't know..."

She was quiet for a minute before yelping, pulling her hand back.

A wave of anger randomly went through me, my eyes opening.

Christy looked at me, her eyes widened, "(y/n)?"

I growled at her, slowly getting up. My mind screamed to stop.

Christy yelped. She slowly backed up, slowly going to the door, "Laurance!?"

My hand grabbed her wrist, "Oh no you don't..."

She looked terrified, making me grin wildly.

"Laurance! Aaron!" She screamed even louder.

Footsteps rushed. My hair glowed red, my skin a paled red instead of just my (sk/c) color.

My fingers wrapped around her neck suddenly, a strangled scream escaping.

Everything but her, I zoned out. My mind screamed louder to stop, not wanting to kill her, but my Shadow wanted to kill her, angry at her for wanting to know a part of me.

There was a seering pain in my arms, my body letting go of her, getting shoved into the wall behind.

A man, almost exactly like me, growled.

Another man grabbed her, Christy struggling to breathe.

My eyes focused on the man. The man lunged at me, grabbing me and pinning me to the wall. I hissed.

He growled back, "Don't you ever do that again."

I smirked, "Do what?"

He punched me in the jaw, making me growl. I punched him straight in the nose.

He pinned me even more before grabbing my neck, pressing against it.

I yelped, my fingernails clawing at his arm, unable to breathe.

He glared me down, "(y/n)... I'm sorry I have to do this."

"Laurance," I strained a hiss, dots clouding my vision before I couldn't see anymore, everything losing feeling.

The last thing I felt was falling forward...

and Laurance catching me.
