Chapter 6: Once Again Pt. 2 ( Mia's P.O.V )
I woke up with the sun shining in my face, a feeling I never really liked. I sat up, and looked around. I saw that the fire I had made overnight had burnt out. I packed up my things and left the area. 'Maybe I should explore more of Mortem' I thought, heading my way back to the city. 'I need food anyway, maybe I'll find some berries or things I could use.' I thought.
I made my way back the city and found a small lake nearby. The water had looked like it was safe to drink so I cupped my hands together, filled them with water and took a small sip. 'Seems fine.' I thought. I took out the glass bottle and rinsed it a bit before putting water inside and popping it shut and putting it in my backpack. I then continued to wander around the city. A couple a berries here and there, a healing potion, and some arrows. The place was pretty ransacked. There wasn't much here, but it would suffice for now. 'Maybe I'll check the mountain out again', I thought starting to make my towards it. I hadn't even bothered to look inside the chests there were yesterday.
When I was about halfway there I thought I heard faint voices. I looked up. It scared the living hell out of me, but I was relieved to see them.
"GUYS?!" I yelled out to them. It was Grayson and Drake.
"MIA!!!." They both yelled.
Grayson turned to Drake and said something to him. I continued climbing. They both then looked at me.
"Mia! Stay where you are! I'm going to teleport you up here!" Drake yelled to me.
I remained where I was as he chanted a spell, and I was up at the mountain.
"GUYS!!!" I yelled as I hugged them both at the same time, with them hugging me back.
All three of us broke out of the hug after a few long moments.
"Where have you two been?!?!" I asked. Grayson answered first.
"I was teleported to the Red Keep." He answered.
I then looked at Drake for his answer. "I was at the Black Forest. Where were you?" He asked.
"I was at Mortem. I tried looking for you guys, but neither of you were there." I answered.
"Mortem? You should have stayed here, this is my house." Drake said. I paused.
"...What? I thought this was someone's else's!" At that moment, I felt like the biggest idiot in the world.
"But didn't you see the circle talisman in one of the buildings?" He asked me.
"...I should have known..." I mumbled loud enough for them to hear me.
I face-palmed myself. There was an awkward silence for a couple of moments.
"Whatever, now that we're together we need to stop Him." Grayson said, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, but, where do we start? We have literally no leads. And we can't just go back to the Magical Library." Drake said.
"Maybe, but, perhaps we should try to get the part of Him that's inside of you, out." I chimed in.
"Maybe we should discuss this later. We still barely have supplies, we left our backpacks at the library, He's still out there, and we still have to find out how to hatch Grayson's Dragon egg." Drake said.
"I guess you're right. We should discuss this tonight then." Grayson added. At that moment Drake's eyes widen.
"Wh-"
Drake then quickly walked back to his bedroom and pressed a button on a wall. Then almost outside of the building, there was a door that lead down to somewhere. He started climbing down the ladders. Grayson and I looked at eachother and we then followed him down. We managed to keep up with him as he lead us to another secret area.
Grayson and I entered right after him. "Drake, what's wr-"
I stopped in mid sentence and looked at what he was staring at. There in the middle of the room was once a wooden ledge, with few pieces of wood that had survived, that seemed like would give away at any minute. And inside, there was a case made from titanium that looked like was ripped open, and the circle talismans around it looked scratched and there were the pieces of the wood that feel off, and ash all around that certain area.
"Oh Notch..." I heard Grayson whisper.
"It had to have been Him. No other Mage would have been able to find it...and there were the three diamonds at the library when we fought Him..." Drake said, with both a mixture of anger, annoyance, and sadness in his voice.
"I guess I have to clean this up later then..." Drake said turning around and walking back upstairs.
He waited until we were outside the room before he closed the door. "What will you use this room for then?" I questioned.
"I'm not sure. Maybe do the same thing that Grayson did with all the artifacts that he found?" He answered.
"But if that was Him, why didn't he do the same thing to my house?" He asked, asking himself more than us.
"Maybe He was just after the diamond. But then again, that is weird when you think about it..." I said. We climbed up the ladder and we then closed the hatch.
"Wait...when I was looking around...there were only two beds...and there's three of us..." I said trailing off.
"...Okay...then Drake, you can sleep in your bed since this is your house. Mia, you use the bed the in the study. We don't have sleeping bags so I can sleep on the floor. I'm used to it anyway." Grayson said.
"Are you sure?" I asked. Drake looked at him skeptically.
"Of course. I'll be fine." He said, reassuring us.
"Fine, but at least, use one of my pillows when we have to sleep." Drake offered.
Grayson chuckled. "I was hoping you would offer. If you didn't, well, I was gonna use one anyway." He said breaking into a small laughter.
"We should set up a fire. I'll go get some firewood." Drake said, starting to climb down the mountain.
"I'll go with him, while I'll try to find food for us. Can you stay up here and guard the place and try to set up camp?" Grayson asked me. I nodded.
"If something bad happens, yell as loud as you can. I don't want you getting hurt." He said. I smiled at him.
"I'll be fine! You don't have to worry about me so much!" I said cheerfully. He smiled back and he put his hands in the air.
"Okay, okay!" He said, chuckling and heading down the mountain. I chuckled and started to set up camp.
After we gathered everything and regrouped, we made a fire and Grayson was able to find berries and some mutton. We sat around the fire. It was turning night as we started to talk about our future plans.
"So what should we do now?" I asked.
"Just try to survive in general, really, we can stay here before we have enough to actually adventure. I can go to the inn and see if they have some supplies that we could buy." Grayson said.
"And we could also try to go see where the maps you found to hatch the egg lead aswell." Drake spoke up.
"We do honestly have a lot of things that we have to deal with, but, which one should we be dealing with first?" I ask.
"We can focus on the Dragon Egg later. Right now, we need to figure out how to get to the side of Him out of Drake as soon as we can. For all we now, He could be out for Drake as we speak." Grayson said, with much concern in his voice.
"But, wouldn't we need to go back to the Magical Library for that? It took us weeks to get there. I think we should focus on getting the Dragon Egg hatched. Along the way, if it's even possible, we can try to remove His side of me." Drake said, disagreeing with Grayson.
"What do you mean if it's even possible? If you could place His will onto you, wouldn't you be able to place it back?" I asked.
"And place it back on who? Him? He'd get some of his power back. And that's the worst possible thing for us right now, and we have a lot to deal with already."
"But what if you get possessed again? And you were to actually wind up hurting one of us? It seems like that would be the worst possible thing for ALL of us." Grayson said.
We both looked at Drake to see what he would say. At this, he remained silent. Grayson pulled out the maps he got from the Magical Library, and the maps that lead to it. He looked at them for a couple of moments before speaking up again.
"The map that leads me to hatch the egg looks like it leads to the desert and there's almost wastelands around aswell. There's a vast ocean too." Grayson says.
Me and Drake stand up to look at the maps seeing that he was right.
"It's like with the maps that lead to the Magical Library all over again." Grayson said, sighing.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"When I got the maps, I was searching for over two years for the Library. I wasn't able to find anything that even looked like the terrain until I reunited with Drake and we met you." He answered.
"Maybe they're like the maps to the library? They changed, when we got there." I suggested.
"It might, but I'm not so sure yet."
"So then, should we go off to find the place to hatch your egg, or...?" I asked, confused with what we should even do.
"We definitely need to get rid of the side of Him that Drake has inside him. That's our first priority." Grayson said, taking a bite out of his mutton.
"But wouldn't it be better if we just went to go find where the maps lead too. I really just don't want to slow you both down because of me." Drake said, STILL in disagreement. Honestly, where did he even get his stubbornness from? And Grayson too? I wonder if Armen was stubborn too...
"It's nice to know that you don't want to slow us down, but we are going to find a cure for you. Whether you like it or not." Grayson said, in a more worried than demanding tone. Drake paused for a minute. He then sighed.
"Fine. Just this once. But in the meanwhile, we're looking for the area to hatch your egg." He said, finally giving in.
"Okay, so first we have have to find a cure for Drake and in the meantime, if we can, we find out where those maps lead to and we try to survive. Am I right?" I asked.
"Yeah. But then, afterwards, what do we do?" I questioned, once more.
"Then we kill Him. That's what we do afterwards." Drake replied.
"I'm all up for that idea." Grayson said agreeing with Drake, smirking.
"Same for me, I honestly don't want to be dealing with Him anymore. Especially with all the things He's done to a large amount of innocents." I said, also in agreement. Grayson yawned.
"Maybe it's time we go to bed. I'm tired." Grayson commented, sitting up and stretching.
We put out the fire and we went to sleep with Drake giving Grayson one of his pillows and Grayson smacking him with it a couple of times laughing before going to sleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh gosh. That was such a long chapter. I'm starting to work on ideas for chapter 7 and I already have my ending planned out! Welp, I'm going to sleep, it's like 12 in the morning. (By the time I get this posted it'll be the morning for me. AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm so ev- *passes out from lack of sleep*)
