lorenz + sylvain (post time skip) | tea for three

Walking through the reception hall with a few books held closely to my chest, I offered smiles to the monks I walked past. Today's been surprisingly slow considering Fódlan is now a continent consumed by war.

The Knights of Serios have been dispatched to gather information needed before the Alliance can make it's next move meaning we're all on standby essentially and Hilda is more than happy for that to be the case. I don't particularly mind the break either. Claude's growing increasingly restless, though I'd argue he needed the break more than anyone around here. Then again, with slow days like this becoming a more regular occurrence, that can only mean one thing.

"Ah Professor, what a lovely surprise finding you here." Lorenz said with his usual smile dancing across his lips, a hand placed over the armor of his deep purple chest plate as he greets me.

Sylvain stood beside him as they more or less blocked my escape route heading up to the monastery's library. Lysithea and Annette have wanted these books for a while now so I went out of my way to ask Ignatz to help me find them in the towns marketplace earlier. Looks like those two are going to have to wait a little longer before they can get their hands on these considering it doesn't appear that these two knights are going to be letting me go anytime soon.

"Sup Professor." Sylvain said with a wink. "Care to join us for tea?"

I glanced between the two young men with knitted brows. "I thought you two couldn't stand one another?" I asked considering the last time I saw them together, they were both attempting to pick up girls and utterly failing and then proceeding to argue with each other over who was the victor in whatever bet they had going on back then during our time in the Officers Academy. That may have been years ago but I've yet to see them act even remotely civil towards one another since which says something.

The red head from House Gautier laughed at that. "Lorenz and I are good friends now, right Lorenz?" Sylvain said, flicking his hazel eyes to the purple haired boy standing beside him.

"Oh yes, of course we are. We've become quite acquainted with one another since our return to Garreg Mach." Lorenz followed along easily with an added flip of his hair. "Now come Professor. You simply must try this splendid tea Ferdinand has recently introduced me to."

Not given much of a choice, the two young men began leading me back the way I had came and towards the gazebo placed in the center of the nearby garden. Hilda and Dorothea waved to me from a little ways away once we had walked outside. The two girls looked far too amused at my current predicament, both Hilda and Dorothea leaning over to talk to one another and giggle while I'm whisked off to an impromptu tea party of sorts.

With much hesitance, I took the tea cup offered to me by Lorenz and skeptically looked at the liquid inside. The tea doesn't smell like it was poisoned or anything...

"Geez Professor, you don't have to be on your guard so much. It's just us." Sylvain said before taking a sip of his own tea, Lorenz doing the same from where the two of them sit across from me. "Relax a little."

"I must agree with Sylvain in asking for you to please be more at ease when we're all enjoying such exquisite tea together." The purple haired noble then said as he elegantly crossed one long leg over the other. "That look of skepticism just doesn't suit your divine features, Professor."

Taking a sip of my tea, I looked between the two paladins with slightly narrowed eyes. "You two want something from me." I said lamely.

Chuckling, Sylvain flashed me a charming smile. "Can't we ask our dear Professor out for some tea without you always thinking we're up to something?"

"You're lack of faith in us wounds me." Lorenz then said in mock offense.

"Now I'm positive you two want something from me." I said, laughing as the two of them try to come up with any and all excuses to convince me that I was wrong. "Go on, spit it out you two and just say it."

Lorenz's shoulders fell. "I should have guessed you would see right through our plan with how observant you naturally are..." He sighed. "Very well then. We wish to know which one of us you find to be more charming?"

Sylvain's smirk tuned more sultry. "C'mon Professor, give us your honest thoughts and tell Lorenz here that I'm obviously the superior choice." He mused as the purple haired boy beside him rolled his eyes.

"Between you or myself, I assure you, Sylvain, that I am the clear winner in all departments. I'm more handsome, more noble, and far more charming than you'll ever hope to beconing." Lorenz said as a confident and almost challenging smile worked it's way across his lips, eyes focused solely on the red head sitting beside him.

"More handsome than yours truly?" Sylvain scoffed. "Now that's a great joke. You never told me you were a comedian, Lorenz."

Silently taking another sip of my tea, I happily listened to the two bicker back and forth. The fact that they've found the time during war to argue over something as trivial as this amazes me. The two of them truly are a breath of fresh air when everything is usually so strained and hectic around the monastery.

Just as Sylvain and Lorenz were about to return their questions to me, a certain orange haired young man walked up to us looking far more annoyed than anything. "Lorenz, have you seen the tea I had asked Petra to bring me back from her recent trip back to visit her homeland?" Ferdinand asked as he stopped just behind my chair and glanced down at me. "Oh, Professor? You're here too- wait, Lorenz, I wanted to share this tea with the Professor!" The long haired man then said with nothing but pure anger behind his words as he looked to the purple haired boy sitting across from myself.

Holding his hands up in mock defeat, Lorenz chuckled. "You made this tea out to be truly an amazing blend and when I heard of your intentions to share this with our lovely Professor here, alone with just the two of you in the comforts of your room, I knew immediately that I had to act before you possibly could."

Sylvain laughed as he looked between the two young men. "No way, Lorenz stole your special tea you were saving to have with our Professor? Amazing." He said before patting Lorenz's back. "Didn't think you'd result to thievery just to stay one step ahead of the competition."

Ferdinand sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "You two, are the worst."

"If it makes you feel any better, the tea does taste great. Let's have some together soon." I said to the orange haired boy as I stood up from the small table and grabbed the couple books I was originally bringing to the library before I was taken on this detour. "Now if you boys would excuse me, I'll be leaving first."

With a slight skip in my step, I couldn't help but smile as I started walking away from the table, leaving the three young men to start bickering with one another.

"There they go. You just had to go ruining our fun now didn't you Ferdinand?" Sylvain groaned.

"And we were so close to hearing the Professor's answer to this long sought after question." Lorenz then sighed.

"You stole some of the best tea I've ever managed to acquire just so I couldn't have it with the Professor so of course I'd come and crash your little tea party!" Ferdinand responded incredulously. "You two have escalated this friendly little wager of ours into a full scale war- and I intend to be the victor."

"Ooooo, I'm so scared of the long haired orange pony." Sylvain mused with a loud laugh, Lorenz chuckling as well. "Too bad I'll be the one to steal the Professor's heart."

"We'll see about that for I, Lorenz Hellman Gloucester, will never back down from this challenge!"

Okay, the second I saw Sylvain, Lorenz, and Ferdinand, I knew I had to write something for them (and probably many more future things for this chaotic trio tbh) like oml these three are the best trio I swear xD I love the idea of each of them still competing for the Professor's attention even long after they're no longer students lmaoooo they're all so precious and must be protected at all costs! :3

Thanks for reading this oneshot everyone~
