7 ~ Work.
*Thomas' POV*
Boring ass work. It'd been two weeks since... everything. And that means about two weeks that we've had Hayden.
But here I am, stuck at work because shitty Mr Adams said I "no longer need my paternity leave"!
Asshole.
Can you tell I'm angry?
I even have Hamilton feeling sorry for me! Who would've thought?
I slumped in my seat, reading through the document on my screen, head starting to hurt now. I rubbed my eyes and stood up, heading to the break room to have my lunch.
I sighed as I opened the door. Peace and-
Oh no, the gremlin's here.
"Jefferson." He said, looking up briefly.
"Hamilton." I nodded back, sitting a few seats away from him.
"You holding up okay?" He asked.
"I'm perfectly fine." Even I could tell my voice was monotone.
"I know we've never really been the best of friends but if you wanna talk to someone about... the situation... you can talk to me." He worded carefully. I nodded and looked at my phone that buzzed with a message from my girlfriend.
I smiled as I looked at the screen. It was a picture of Hayden in her arms, sound asleep with the caption; Hi Daddy, me and Mama hope work is okay ❤️.
Screenshot and save to album. That seemed to be all I did recently. In two weeks we collectively had about 500 photos of Hayden.
"How's (Y/N) and..."
"Hayden?" I looked up and noticed James and Laf walking in to join us.
"Yeah. How are they?"
"They're both good. Obviously (Y/N)'s still hurting but having Hayden is really helping us all. He's already trying to roll from his back to front and lift his head."
"Well he is a strong one mon ami." Laf smiled, joining the conversation. Because he was sat beside me (and very nosy) he'd seen the picture my girlfriend had sent me. "'E's getting big now, non?"
"Yeah. He is." I smiled. "(Y/N)'s trying to make the most of all the newborn clothes."
"I hope you realise," James spoke up. "your office secret Santa won't get you anything, it'll be stuff for the baby." The rest of us laughed, knowing my friend was right.
Of course, Mr. Adams just had to come in and see us.
"Jefferson!" He barked. "When did I say you could take your break?"
"You didn't Sir." I mumbled.
"Aw c'mon, give the guy a break." Alexander said.
"Oui, 'e shouldn't even be 'ere in the building."
"Honestly Sir, with all due respect, he has just lost a family member." James said, throwing me a sympathetic look. I smiled in acknowledgment.
"A family member that wasn't around long enough for him to love." Adams said coldly.
This bitch.
"Sir!" Hamilton shouted, looking ready to throw hands.
"C'mon Hamilton - none of us ever heard any details. He clearly didn't care that much."
This bitch!
I closed my eyes and counted to ten mentally, reminding myself that I needed this job.
"Tell me Thomas, what was the colour of your son's eyes?" He smirked.
This bitch!
"I don't know." I whispered.
"Sir, that's enough don't you think?" James said, standing beside me.
"Well Thomas." He pressed.
"I don't know." I said a little louder.
"Monsoir Adams, really -"
"I'm waiting."
This bitch!
"I don't know!" I yelled, standing up. "I never got the chance to see him! I will never know what my biological son looked like!"
"You mean, your only son?" Everyone else in the room was silent. Adams continued pressing my buttons.
"No, me and (Y/N) adopted, as I told you before." I tried to remain calm.
"You can't seriously think that makes it - that bastard - your son?" I could almost hear everyone else hold their breath.
This bitch!
"What?" I seethed. Adams just smirked at me.
Time to punch that smirk right off his face.
And none of the others stopped me.
