I am dedicating this to may for helping me out as I am new to Wattpad :)

Emilia's POV

I have lost my job as the cafe was shut down as the owner was moving away to Seattle. Alec was an owner of the cafe even though he was more a friend than a boss to me. We used to joke around, and he was like a brother to me. He wanted to settle down with his girlfriend Becca in Seattle, and they looked cute together. He used to increase my salary every year by some amount which he had promised me when I had joined the cafe. I am going to miss working with him, but as they say, all good things come to an end. I am at the airport with Nathalie to drop Alec.

"Emilia, I will miss you and this place a lot," Alec says.

"I will you miss you too, Alec."

Alec has a sad smile and turns to Nathalie "Come hug your uncle Nath and I will miss you the most".

Nathalie runs from my side and hugs Alec and says " I will miss you too uncle."

Even though I am sad that he is leaving, I am more dreaded about being unemployed. I should soon start searching for a new job before there is the burden on my family. Alec suddenly interrupts me from my thoughts, and I don't know from how long he was calling me.

He asks "Are you ok? You look tensed."

I nervously smile and try to hide it and tell "I am fine."

I think he understood my thoughts and said "I am sorry, Emilia. I had to move to Seattle, but maybe I can find you some job there."

"Thank you, that's sweet of you. I will let you know if I need any help and you already paid me twice my salary last month" I smile.

"It was the least I could do. But do let me know if you need any help. You also have to come to my wedding next week with your daughter."

"I won't miss it, and you know that, Alec." Nathalie stands by my side looking at some children on the other end of the airport.

"Bye, Nathalie and Emilia," He says and then leaves.

Nathalie says " Mommie, Hungry."

"Come on sweety, let's go," I say and carry her in my arms.

By the time we reach home, she is already asleep. She fell asleep in the car itself. I bring her to home, and mom greets me. She takes Nathalie from my arms.

"She fell asleep. Did she eat anything?" She asks.

"No mom. I will wake her up and feed her now" I say.

"You go and freshen up, and I will bathe her. After that, we all can have dinner together".

I am glad that my mom offered to do that as I was already tired.

"Did Dad and Sophie come back yet?" I ask as I can't hear my sister's voice anywhere.

"Your dad is going to come in ten minutes, and your sister is in her room," She says already waking up Nathalie.

Nathalie makes sounds, and I laugh. She doesn't like to be woken up from sleep and feels grumpy.

I head to my room to take a shower. Today was a long day, and I knew tomorrow was going to be even longer as I have to search for a new job. I head to my bathroom and strip out of jeans and shirt that I am wearing and take a hot shower which soothes me. I then wear my night shorts which have mickey mouse on them which look childish and a tank top. My sister makes fun of me for wearing mickey mouse shorts, but I know that my daughter likes them. By the time, I was out of my room, all were already seated and had dinner.

Nathalie was changed into her night dress and was looking fresh. My mom was feeding her.

I smile at my sister Sophie and greet my dad "Hello dad, how was your day?".

"It was hectic. There was some business deal going on, and so company delegates were staying at the hotel and so a lot of work. We had to serve them a different type of items and was juggling between many tables" He says sounding exhausted.

"It does seem very stressful," I say, eating my dinner. My mom made chicken burgers, and it was my favorite.

"So what you thought about doing next. I mean you have lost you job and what have you planned" He asked usually.

I knew that my parents were worried that I had lost my job. "I will start searching for a new job from tomorrow," I say even though I am worried if I am going to get any job here.

My dad shakes his head approvingly. After dinner, I carry Nath to my room. As soon as she has dinner, she fell asleep again. As I lay on the bed, I see my sweety sleeping beside me, and her face makes me forget all worries. She is my strength and weakness, and I have to give her a good future. I kiss her on the forehead, hold her in my arms and close my eyes trying to clear my mind. Tomorrow is going to be a long day I think.
