A person was walking on the road trying to call someone but when the phone had not been answered he felt dejected. He went to a shop and enquired about the person but the shopkeeper denied knowing the person.  He saw many couples proposing each other hanging holding each other hand. Why won't they? after all, it is valentine's day. 

He was disheartened, he walked ahead and collided with someone. The person apologized "I am sorry.." 

He walked ahead but stopped when the same person called him "listen" 

He turned, it was a girl. She came closer to him and stared at him. She said, "I don't have any friends will you be my friend?" 

He looked at her confused and bewildered.. "Sorry but I don't know you" 

"everyone is unknown in first meeting.." she replied. 

He just smiled at her "surely I will be your friend" 

The girl questioned him "you are finding someone?" 

"yes.. the love of my life" he replied looking at her picture in his phone. 

The girl sees the pictures and looked at him "she is really beautiful.. I will pray you find her soon" 

He smiled.. "hey.. sorry I forgot to ask your name.." 

The girl replied "Jahnvi" 

"I am Aarav.." he informed. 

They walked ahead and shared a few things about each other. 

Jahnvi questioned, "who is your love?" 

Aarav smiled imagining her, he narrated "she is my life, the most beautiful girl her name is Manvi" 

Aarav was waiting for Manvi at the park,  it has been almost an hour. He called her but she came from behind and hugged him by jumping on him. 

He glanced at her angry.. "you are late.. I am not talking to you" 

"sorry sorry.. but you know to meet you I have to make lots of excuses," She said making a cute innocent face. 

He pulled her in front and held her hand "why don't you tell your parents about us?" 

"I can't Aarav.. you don't have a job and if I tell them about you they will be angry," she said dejectedly. 

He just smiled.. 

She cupped his face "but you don't worry as soon as you will get a job I will tell them about you" 

He said "that is why I called you here.. I have an internship for 6 months and then I will get a job but I have to go to Delhi.." 

She was overwhelmed hearing it "oh my god Aarav... this is super news" she then realised his words. 

"six months.." she said in a low tone. 

He asked, "will you wait for me?" 

She kissed his cheeks and said "I will wait for you forever.. and when you will return you will find me the same place." 

They shared a hug.. 

He said "I came back but she was not here.. I called her many times but her number was not reachable, I went to her house but she had shifted somewhere else with her parents" 

"she is cheater, she betrayed me," he said with a touch of anger in his voice. 

"why don't you move on" Jahnvi suggested.

"I can't... because I love her" Aarav replied. 

"will you still love her if she is not as beautiful as before?" Jahnvi asked. 

He looked at her confused. He saw tears in her eyes, he looked closely and recognised the eyes. He removed the dupatta from her face and was left stunned seeing her burned face. 

"Manvi.." he uttered his name shockingly. 

"How?? did this happened?" he demanded answers. 

"When you told me you are coming back in a month I was on top of the world.. I wanted to buy you something.." Manvi said. 

Manvi was walking towards the mall, few boys saw her with a lustful look. They passed comments on her. 

"hey beautiful.. be our girlfriend.." 

She was angered hearing this, she went to them and slapped the person. 

"shut up.." 

Ranveer shouted.. "I won't spare you" 

Manvi went inside the mall and selected a few shirts for Aarav. She made the payment and came out. Ranveer pulled her, she glanced at him. 

"do you want another slap from me?" she looked at him with firing gaze. 

"No.. I want to give you a reply to your slap" Ranveer said smirking. 

He took out the liquid and threw it on her face. As soon as the liquid touched her face, she dropped on the floor shouting out loud in pain. "Aah.." it was acid. 

Ranveer ran away from there, leaving her in pain. 

She opened her eyes and realised she was in the hospital. She questioned, "where are my parents?" 

The doctor was silent. She understood, her parents abandoned her. Manvi stood up, she asked the doctor to open her bandages. The doctor did so, she went to the bathroom and looked at herself into the mirror. She was left horrified, she turned away seeing her burning face. 

The acid not only ruined her beauty but her life. She sat down on the floor and cried out loud. She took out her phone and called her mother. 

"mom.." 

"Manvi.. take care beta it's your brother wedding we will come to meet you soon" she replied and ended the call. 

She was left in pain alone. Her phone ranged again, she saw the caller Id, it was Aarav calling. She thought if her own family abandoned her then Aarav is just her lover. Why would he love her after knowing the girl whom he loved is no more beautiful. She ended his call and threw away her phone. 

Aarav looked at her with teary eyes. 

Manvi said "when I was discharged, i went home but no one was there I had nowhere to go.. my friends all started avoiding me some were scared of my face. I wanted to end my life but when I saw you searching for me I stopped myself before dying I just wanted to see you"

Aarav held her hand and expressed "Manvi.. I don't love your beauty I love you.. How can you think I will leave you just because your face is not as beautiful as before? In fact, now you are more beautiful to me.." 

He then stood up and got on his knees "will you marry me?" he proposed her. 

Manvi denied.. "don't ruin your life Aarav because of me just leave" 

"I won't go Manvi I will be on my knees till you accept my proposal," He said with teary eyes. 

"your family will not accept me" she said the consequences. 

"I don't care all I know is I care about you, I love you if they don't accept you we will move out and stay together I am not leaving you to suffer alone I will be with you forever" he confessed.. 

"Aarav.." 

They looked at each other silently. She forwarded her hand and kept on top of his. He smiled, she hugged him tightly and cried. 

He kissed her head and caressed gently. "I love you and happy Valentine's day" he said. 

"I love you too Aarav.. Happy Valentine's day.. You ❤️ ❤️ gave me the best gift of my life" 

They stood up, Manvi tried covering her face but Aarav stopped her. He threw way her dupatta. He held her hand and they started walking with a smile on their faces without caring about the world.
