Chapter 4; Target Locked

Ann now was sitting in the crows nest reading a book. But she was still on the first page for the past hour because Ace has been trying to defeat Whitebeard. Ann was more like stopping Ace from falling in water. Ann was chuckling every time. Marco would sometimes bring a drink to the crows nest. When Marco came to refill the glass of wine for Ann, Ann talked.
"Marco, tonight I want you to take the dinner to him," Ann said as she used her vine to bring Ace onto the ship again.

"Why-yoi? You can't have foretold that he's going to join the crew, right-yoi." Marco huffed as he sat on air.
Ann only hummed in response and nodded.
"You never seem to stop surprising us-yoi," Marco said as he looked at Ace fuming with anger.
"Marco, can tell me the reason "D" never gives up?" Ann asked.

Marco only shook his head and perched on the edge of the crows nest.
"Let me tell you. This is only between you and me. The pirate kings will definitely have a "D" in there name. They are the only ones that can change history in a dramatic way." Ann whispered.
"Why are you telling me-yoi?" Marco asked.
Ann completely ignored Marco and continued to talk.
"D's are the only people who know which butterfly wings flaps. Where and when. When they fully control it that's when they fully accomplish the will." Ann continued, "I believe that I have it too."

"What have you remembered-yoi? You've surely remembered something after sleeping with him-yoi." Marco said.
"I only hugged him while he was sleeping. To answer your question I have remembered a few things. Before I came here I was a pirate and that I was begging someone to take care of my child." Ann replied.
"YOU HAVE A CHILD-YOI!" Marco yelled nearly falling off the edge.
"Shhhhhh... It might not be mine but still. It might be likely."

Marco quickly acted as if nothing happened because all the attention was on the crows nest.

Ann only chuckled.
"Anyhow, Pineapple. I want you to do this for me." Ann said.
"OK, Ka-san. As long as you don't call me Pineapple." Marco grumbled.

Ann continued to talk to Marco for quite a while until Thatch called for Ann.
"Ka-san! It's about time now!" Thatch yelled.

Ann stood up in the middle of the conversation and yelled back.
"Coming! Just get the salad ready!" Ann yelled.

Whitebeard then came out of his room and sat in his usual chair that's in the middle of the ship. Ann jumped and landed gracefully like an angel falling from the sky.

"What's for lunch and what's for dinner Ka-san?" Whitebeard asked.
"For lunch is sandwiches and dinner is a cream stew," Ann answered.
The whole crew smirked and looked at the Spade Pirates. They then cheered. Spade Pirates were rather confused but shrugged it off and hid in their room. Ann walked into the kitchen with Thatch following behind but Marco stood in front of Whitebeard.
"Oyaji, she's foretold again. Do you know anything about her-yoi?" Marco asked.
"Gurara, you worried about your mother," Whitebeard asked.

"I've learnt a lot of Ka-san-yoi. Also the reason for the bracelet-yoi." Marco said.
"The sea stone bracelet that's on her arms and legs?" Whitebeard said.

"Yes, you knew didn't you-yoi."
"It took a while of convincing but yes. Marco, since she told you she has a lot of trust in you. Don't betray her son."

"Never-yoi."

They were then interrupted by vines carrying plates of sandwiches. Also a big one for Whitebeard.

"Lunch time~!" Ann chimed in.
Everyone gathered on the deck as they ate lunch altogether. Vines placed a plate to every person on the ship. Even to the Spade Pirates that were in their rooms. Ace used this as a chance to get Whitebeard. As Whitebeard tried to eat his sandwich Ace jumped in the air. With a bigger axe than last time. Whitebeard didn't move but a figure moved to block the attack with 2 fingers. They stopped in mid-air. She was standing in the air. Her back had no wings but was standing on air. Ace then slowly lost the force and started to dangle on the axe. Trying not to fall from a great highest.

"Usi-san, please do learn your table manners. Lunchtime must be peaceful." Ann said as she let go of the axe.
Ace fell down with the axe in hand. His crewmates then went to his aid. Ann still was in the air. She then sky walked onto Whitebeards shoulder and sat. Whitebeard looked at Ann for a moment before talking.
"Ka-san, are you sure we are having cream stew?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm very sure. That's if Mr Pine does his job." Ann only replied before taking a mouth full of her sandwich.

The whole crew then laughed. Marco had a pink hue on his face.
"Ka-san! I told you not to call me that-yoi." Marco said.
"I said I wouldn't call you Pineapple. Not Mr Pine." Ann replied with her chuckles.

Some of the Spade Pirates laughed too. Suddenly Jozu put a hand up.

"Shouldn't we have a nickname for you too, Ka-san?" Jozu asked.
Everyone roared in agreement.
"It's fine, I got a name 'Ann.'" Ann said as she waved.
"Do you like that name-yoi?" Marco asked.
Ann nodded as she jumped of Whitebeards shoulders and placed her small plate on Whitebeard's big blate.

She then sky walked to the crows nest and stayed there. Was it to hide her face or something else? Even after all of that everyone cleared up and started to do there own stuff. The Spade Pirates stayed in their room except for Ace who tried to kill Whitebeard for the millionth time. Night time was about to come in 6 hours.

Night time had come and dinner time it was. Ace was sitting in the corner staring at the sky. The night sky that was shining. While everyone else on the ship was partying. Ace had his knees on his chest. All the other people in Spade Pirates were partying because Ann invited them but Ace declined. It looked like Ann planned it. Marco then slowly came to him and placed his dinner. Cream stew it was.

Ace looked at the ground and then Ace.
"Here, dinner-yoi," Marco said as he leaned on the railing.
"Pineapple, would you tell me why everyone on this ships calls him Oyaji?" Ace asked.

Marco only smirked before replying.
"Because he treats us like a father, I guess. Ka-san is the same too. They treat us as family." Marco answered.
Ace already had tears at this point.
"He's a father of the fathers. Ka-san is the mother of the mothers." Marco said, "We treat others as if brothers. That's the good thing about being in this pirate crew."
Marco was about to continue about how good being in this crew will be but a vine stopped him. A vine wrapped around the mouth and then pointed at Ace. He was crying.

Marco only nodded before leaving with a pat on Ace's back.
'Target Locked,' Marco thought as he walked away.
