Chapter 8

Hehe so this is the problem with staying over at a friend's when she's addicted to Minecraft .... Oh well but because of that I have a reason to update !!! Sooooooo Chapter 8

It was barely five when Lucy woke up, her eyes popping open and her brown orbs looking around the semi-dark room. She noticed that it was still dark out and her idiotic fake-husband was sleeping right next to her. She shifted slightly and carefully pushed the heavy limp that belonged to Natsu off before swinging her legs around and standing up to stretch. She let out soft groan before walking on over to the bathroom to do her business.

Once out, she decided to take some kind of walk instead of getting cozy back in bed.

It looked real inviting especially with Natsu's warm self but she needed to wake up and prepare for the long day ahead. After all, they were departing tonight.

Yawning, Lucy walked out the door and out the room as she walked down the corridor. She realized nobody was up at this time and went downstairs to get a cup of water—jumping slightly when she felt something brush against her leg.

Looking down, it was a white female cat with a pink bow tied to her tail.

Lucy only smiled before bending down to stroke the soft animal, rubbing behind the ear. "Good morning, little one. What are you doing up so early?"

The cat purred and gave Lucy a bit affection before pulling away and jumping away, making her stare in confusion. She decided to ignore it as she continued her way down the corridor and down the stairs, coming down to the entrance of the large place to notice a room all the way down a certain hall.

She noticed the light was on inside and went to go investigate—curious on who was up so early or if it was just turned on for the entire night.

Approaching the room, Lucy came and peeked inside the place. When noticing it was a large library inside, she entered and stare in awe.

This place was heaven!

There were thousands of books everywhere—from smallest to biggest and highest to lowest. She just wanted to take each and every one of them and read them. And when she finishes with every one of them, she just wants to re-read them all over.

Looking around, she realized most of the books were medical books. There was also newspaper articles hanging from the walls where it's all black and white with large bold printing about Porlyusica.

Squinting and approaching it even closer, Lucy read the news article title as it read: Porlyusica does it again! We swear, she's a magician!

"Are you reading my news article?"

"K—kyah!" Lucy squealed in fear as she turned and backed away, clutching the area where her heart was as the said pink-haired woman stood. She only stared in disinterested as Lucy sighed. "P—Porlyusica..."

"What are you doing up so early?"

"W—well... I woke up and couldn't fall asleep again so I took a walk and accidentally stumbled into this room... I'll leave now if you want. I'm sorry for—"

"I never said you were bothering me. I just asked a simple question and you go through this entire life-story about how your morning was. Why so stiff, girl? I'm not going to bite you." She scoffed as she walked past the blonde as she placed an trophy on an empty stand as Lucy watched.

Porlyusica looked pretty content as she smiled softly and looked back at the blonde.

"Cat got your tongue? Why aren't you saying anything?"

"I—I'm sorry—"

"Stop apologizing!"

"I'm sorry!" Lucy cried out as she started to tremble in fear, the pink-haired former doctor sighing in frustration. "You're lucky you're my grandson's wife. If you weren't, I would have kicked you out since day one."

Lucy made a face of discourage and disappointment as she frowned, looking down at her feet as the words flew out of her mouth.

"But... I see potential in you—you're a good girl, aren't you?"

"I—I suppose..."

Porlyusica sighed and walked away as she picked up a fallen book, dusting it off as she held it tightly in her pale wrinkly hands.

"You should head back to bed—it's still early right now. Knowing my grandson, he hates sleeping alone." She said making Lucy look at the pink-haired woman walking around and cleaning places here and there.

It still surprised her how this mean woman was such a sweetheart to her grandchildren and was a doctor. She could see Porlyusica just allowing somebody to die just because she hated humans and their disgusting self. Though, she didn't blame her—some people are just a bit too much.

Without any more thoughts, Lucy respectfully bowed towards the older woman. "Thank you—good night, Porlyusica."

"Night, girl."

Lucy frowned slightly as she wasn't even given a glance from the pink-haired woman. It made her think that she might actually be that bad and it hurt to know that Natsu's precious grandmother disliked her. She was desperate to get approval but what else could she do? She was basically forced to like her since her precious grandson married her.

Turning back around, Lucy cleared her throat and tapped the woman on the shoulder. "Uh, Porlyusica?"

"What is it? I thought you were leaving." She said in a harsh manner, turning around to give the blonde a look while Lucy stood her ground. "Porlyusica,"

"I'm listening."

"I understand that you dislike me but can't you at least give me a chance? I've been doing so much just for you to like me and in the end it looks like I'm going to be leaving without your approval. Please, I know how much you mean to Natsu and how much Natsu means to you. I want to be on your good-side and I really want to be a good granddaughter-in-law. Please—Natsu means a lot to me and having you, who he loves so much, love me back, I would be the happiest woman in the world! This family... is broken in some parts and small but it's a lovable family. Wendy is just lovely, you are too. Natsu is the biggest sweetheart I know and Igneel acts like a father to me and... they're the other family I haven't had since I was a young girl. Please, Porlyusica, it would mean a lot to me if you wouldn't give me the cold-shoulder all the time..." Lucy begged as she looked at the former doctor with a pleading look on her face.

Porlyusica looked surprised in general as she stared at the bowing blonde in front of her, wondering what in the world just happened.

She stayed quiet as she pressed her lip into a tight line and looked down at her granddaughter-in-law, a sigh flying out of her lips.

"Get up, girl. You'll ruin your posture like that," The pink-haired woman scowled as she stepped forward and helped her stand up straight, Lucy looking up in surprise. "You don't want a hunchback when you're older. Natsu wouldn't like that when you two grow old together."

"P—Porlyusica..."

"I never said I never disliked you," Porlyusica said as she still had that cold tone of voice and scowl as she dusted the shoulder of the blonde. "And I never gave you the cold-shoulder. That's just how I normally am,"

"But, you're not like that to Natsu!"

"Natsu is my first grandson! He deserves some love and affection!"

"I—I'm sorry!" She squealed as the old woman glared and threw her first in the air. Porlyusica who saw her reaction, sighed and stepped away. "And... you are a good granddaughter-in-law... in fact, you're great. Your cooking skills are amazing, your manners are on point, but you might need to work on your cleaning skills. But other than that... you are a good one."

"R—really?"

"Yes, really. You mean a lot to Natsu. Just by watching how he interacts with you and always making sure you're close by or okay, I could tell you mean a lot to him and I don't want him to hate me because I messed a marriage up for him. Especially with such a beautiful girl like you. Natsu is my first and oldest grandchild—I expect you to take care of him and love him as much as he loves you, alright?"

"Yes... of course, Porlyusica." Lucy smiled, looking at the woman in front of him as Porlyusica smiled back at her. "Now, head back to bed, you need rest."

"Yes ma'am." She bowed as she turned and started to walk away as Porlyusica watched the woman walk away. "Better hurry before Natsu wakes up fussing... Lucy." She said making Lucy freeze and stare at the door in surprise.

Turning around, she looked over at Porlyusica who was pretending she was doing something else, knowing that she was staring. Watching how she didn't speak or turn around again, Lucy put a large smile on her face and opened the door to step out, closing it right behind her to lean against it.

She squealed silently as she threw her fist in the air, excitedly.

"Are you done speaking with my grandmother?"

"Ah!" Lucy squeaked as she jumped back, clutching her chest once more as she looked down the dark hall. She calmed down when she realized it was just Natsu, leaning against the wall. "Natsu... what are you doing up so early?"

"That should be my line—where were you? I freaked out 'cause you weren't in bed nor the bathroom. I thought you left or got kidnapped," The male sighed as he approached her, a look of tiredness and relief on his face as Lucy smiled. "Don't worry about me—get back to bed. You must be tired." She said as she placed her hands on his shoulders as he looked right into her doe eyes. "Are you coming, too?" He asked making smile and nod. "Of course, I'm tired as well."

"Good... hey, what were you and my grandmother doing so early in the morning?"

"We just ended up bumping into each other and talking about you. Don't worry about it—c'mon, let's head to bed."

"But I'm kind of curious about what you two were doing together, alone." He whined as the two climbed up the stairs. Lucy only rolled her eyes as she stopped at the top of the stairs, waiting for the pink-haired male to hurry and come up already. "I might tell you about it later. The sun is almost rising and I want to have some more sleep before the world awakes."

"Can we cuddle?" He asked, looking at her innocently and sleepily as Lucy blushed slightly.

Just looking at his cute sleepy innocent face, he looked like a child and she just didn't want to refuse. Though, it would be weird cuddling with him but at this point, what does she have to lose?

Smiling, she extended her hand out towards him and nodded. "Yeah, sure, we can cuddle."

Waking up the second time that day, Lucy felt much better this time.

The sun was shining brightly and she was warm and cozy right in Natsu's chest as his and her limps were tangled. Cuddling was such a great gesture and she was happy she actually agreed—she might actually do it more. She fell asleep quickly and he was warm.

She actually didn't have anything to lose—why didn't she do this sooner?

"Nngh, is it time to wake up, already?" Natsu's voice interrupted her thoughts as his deep morning voice broke the silence.

Lucy, who only hummed in response, continued to listen to the heartbeat of the male as she stayed where she was. "It's only ten..."

"Well, I don't hear anyone calling for us, yet. Let's just stay in bed for a bit more," He suggested as he stretched in place before wrapping his arms around the smaller woman and nuzzling himself into her.

He sighed happily as Lucy didn't fight him anymore. "Mmm, living the life."

"Don't get used to it." The blonde smiled as she arched her back and held him from the chest above. "This is only for today."

"Why," he whined as he pulled back to look at her. "Look how comfortable we are and how well we're getting along." He grinned boyish as the blonde rolled her eyes and pushed his hair back which fell on his face. "Well, because, we're not really married or a couple."

"We could be."

"Hush, child. It's too early for you to talk," The blonde quickly dismissed the idea as she pushed his back even more making his eyes wide and her to laugh softly. "You look so weird like this."

Natsu only scowled and grinned playful as he pushed her hands away, nuzzling himself into her again. "Shut up."

Lucy only giggled and rolled her eyes at his lame comeback as she brushed his hair back, leaning against him. She heard the knocks on the door and looked up, noticing how Natsu didn't even move or say anything. But just as she was about to say something, Wendy came in balancing many things on a tray which had breakfast for the two.

"Good morning! I have breakfast for you two!"

"Oh, thank you so much, Wendy!"

"No problem at all," the teenager smiled as she set the tray down. "is Natsu still asleep?"

"No, he's awake. He's just being stubborn and not getting up 'cause he's lazy." Lucy said as she pulled back and pulled his head back as the male stuck his tongue out at her. He untangled himself from her and sat up, smiling at his younger cousin. "'morning, Wend. Is everyone else up?"

"Yep! So, eat breakfast, get dressed, and come down once you're done. Take your time, okay?"

"Thank you once again, Wendy. You're the best!" Lucy said as she threw the covers off and crawled over towards the edge to embrace her into a hug.

Wendy only blushed and awkwardly hugged back. "Ahah... you're welcome! Take your time!" She said before leaving the couple to eat breakfast. As soon as she left, Natsu simply grabbed the tray and place it right in front of him, Lucy having to sit in front of him also as the food was now in-between. "Ah, crispy bacon and eggs in the morning... what can get better than this?"

"Pancakes!" The blonde cried out as she revealed what was under a tray, the male's face instantly lighting up. "I love Wendy!"

"She is going to be such a good wife one day." Lucy said as she grabbed the cup of orange juice and sipped on it, grabbing one of the plates to grab her fork and dig in. She looked at the male who was squirting ketchup on his plate as he looked pretty annoyed. "Who says I'm letting her get married?"

"Oh no—don't you play that 'protective older sibling' card. Nu-uh, Wendy is free to date and marry whoever she wants."

"No way!" The rosy-haired male cried out as he looked up at his pretend-wife. "What is he's a major douche and treats her like shit?! I'm going to talk to this guy before they get serious."

"Natsu, let her deal with whatever she had by herself. She's old enough to know what type of people are out there. She's not going to marry someone who treats her like shit, obviously."

"I still have to meet him and he will need my approval before they date." Natsu scowled as he pointed his fork at her before he dug in. "Besides, Wendy's too young to date." He shrugged making Lucy furrow her brows. "She's almost fourteen, Natsu."

"Too young." He repeated, a bit rough this time making Lucy sigh and roll her eyes. "Poor girl... I feel bad for her and your future daughter."

"Hey—my daughter won't be allow to date till she's at least twenty-one then she won't be able to marry until she's twenty-eight."

"Yeah, I feel bad for her, already."

"Don't worry, Luce. Our daughter will be raised by the greatest parent's so, she's good!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," the blonde paused as she chewed and finally swallowed. "Our daughter?"

Natsu nodded as he glanced down at his plate to see what to get next, swallowing the food inside his mouth to put more into his mouth. "Who else would mother my children?"

"Why the hell is it me mothering your children?"

"Because we're married."

"Please—"

"Ahh! No, nu-uh, don't say it." The male screamed as he put a hand right in front of her face making her stop. "I'm not dealing with your 'we're not really married' crap right now. We're married since of the deal so you will not refuse or deny anything. Okay?"

"But—"

"OKAY?"

Lucy sighed and rolled her eyes once more, looking down at her plate of food. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." She waved it off as Natsu grinned and agreed with her.

Soon, the whole conversation just drifted into another
