Chapter 4: Bad Timing
The wedding was in two days. Servants dashed about making sure everything was as it should be, Tony was sneaking people off to who knows where, and Kate wouldn't stop fussing over the whole thing, "Your getting married!!!"
"Yes, I've been engaged for weeks."
"I think I'm gonna cry!" She wrapped her arms around Belle 'crying'.
"Hey!" Tony called from across the room, "Save it for the ceremony! You're holding the tissues!"
Kate stuck out her tongue, "Hold your own damn tissues Uncle Tony!" She felt her phone buzz in her pocket, "Ugh, in late for my appointment at the Raft."
Belle grimaced, "Have fun?"
"Haha, in my nightmares."
-
Kate waited for the guards to escort her in. They told her they were moving the prisoner into a secure room for them to talk. They led her into a room with a glass wall. Gaston was sitting in chair on the other side.
Kate sat in the chair provided for her and took stall of her brother. His hair was a mess, his face was covered in creases, and it looks like he lost some weight, "Look how the mighty have fallen. They don't have eggs?"
Gaston glowered, "Laugh all you like!"
"I'm not laughing. I'm disappointed. You think I enjoy this?! Your in jail for god's sake!"
"You really expected me to know that the Beast was a Prince?!"
Kate shot up out of her chair, "No, I expected you to judge someone on how they looked! I expected you to not go marching up a castle, without the full story! Mom raised you better than this!"
Now it was Gaston's turn to stand up, "Don't bring her into this!"
"No, I will because you need to hear it! She is sad and disgraced at what you did, she's on my side!" Kate huffed and walked back towards the door, "Belle and Adam are getting married in two days. Thought you'd like to know." And she left, willing herself not to look back.
-
"Now repeat after me: See Jane walk. See Jane run." Belle's heart grew at the sound of the children, mainly girls, reciting her words, "Very good! Now I want you to go home and try your hardest to read the next page alright?"
They all grabbed their books and exited the library, eager to get home. Belle pushed some chairs in and sat down in one. Shutting her eyes, she did not notice the figure standing in the door until he spoke, "Belle?"
She willed her eyes to open, but they only did when she got a good look at the man in the door way, "LeFou?!" The plump man shyly made his way over to where Belle was seated, "What are you doing here?"
"A witch told me of a school for illiterates?" Wanda. Belle sighed, the only person besides herself who is so kind. "I would like to join."
Belle's eyes widened and then she quickly hugged him, "Oh LeFou, of course you may!" She quickly grabbed a book off the shelf, "How about you come in about this time everyday?"
LeFou sat down, "That sounds good."
Belle laid her hand on his with a smile that spoke volumes, "I want you to know there is no need to be embarrassed with yourself. This is a learning experience and I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
LeFou's shoulders seemed to lose some tension, "Thank you Belle." Belle sat down beside him and flipped to the first page.
-
An hour later LeFou went home. Belle was making her way to her room when she was intercepted by Kate and Plumette, "Hey guys. Oh, how did the visit go?"
"Crappy." Kate grabbed one of her wrists while Plumette grabbed the other.
"What's up?"
Plumette looked as jumpy as a cat, "A big strong man came out of the sky! He's downstairs!"
Out of the sky??? Suddenly it hit her and she was running alongside them. Sure enough, Thor Odinson stood in the room but not alone. He was accompanied by Bruce of all people. "Asgard has been attacked by a man called Thanos. He's collecting the infinity stones," He draws a breath, "and he wants the mind stone."
