It was already 10 pm and Jeongguk still wasn't home. He couldn't wait for him to go home. Taehyung is getting impatient.

"Where the hell could that stupid dog be?!" He groans because he is getting frustrated as the time passes by, and he was waiting for like 5 hours now.

Suddenly, the door opened, revealing a handsome and masculine werewolf, who faced Taehyung with a tight-lipped smile, clearly forced. The mas was darting his gaze to anything but Taehyung.

He couldn't look at the younger in the eyes. He felt ashamed and scared. He knew he should be used to Taehyung's painful comments about him by now, but he couldn't.

He would still get hurt whenever the younger would say something about him because no matter what it is, it will always going to be negative.

He wanted to be selfless and just let Taehyung go like how the other wanted it to. He really thought about it a lot. But he can't. No matter how much he thinks about it he couldn't let him go.

Maybe he really was selfish. For not being able to let Taehyung go. For not being able to set him free to make him truly happy. And the younger also can't do anything to escape because they were married.

Taehyung's heart doesn't belong to him. Nonetheless, he was still trying to win the younger's heart up until now even though they were already two years married.

But the vampire prince wouldn't budge.

The younger boy's heart was as hard as a stone. He wouldn't let Jeongguk in. Heck, he doesn't even consider him as a friend.

Was it wrong though?

Was it wrong to also want the younger's love? Even just a little bit of it?

He was begging for a little bit of love coming from Taehyung himself. He loves Taehyung so much to the point he's willing to do anything the younger asks him to, anything the younger wants just for him to stay by his side. To not leave him alone.

Was Jeongguk being selfish though? 

Of course, he was. Maybe what Taehyung said was true. He was also irrational. 

He was so selfish. 

Because he couldn't even grant the younger's only wish. And that is to let him go completely.

Jeongguk sighs before eyeing Taehyung, only to see the other was also staring back at him with oddity.

There was a different glint in the other's eyes that Jeongguk couldn't comprehend. The younger was oddly calm, unlike the usual angry look that he always gives Jeongguk whenever he sees him.

Jeongguk averted his gaze somewhere else to avoid eye contact with the younger. He brought some food in case the younger was hungry.

"Have you eaten yet?" He asks hesitantly. "No." The younger surprisingly answered him properly, unlike the usual  'The fuck do you even care? Did I give you permission to?' or 'Fuck off, Jeon!'

"Oh... I see" Jeongguk placed the food on the table quietly. "Here, I brought you some food. You can eat." He said and smile a bit. He felt somewhat happy because the latter didn't lash out on him like he would, usually.

But he knew that he shouldn't get his hopes up. It might go down the drain right away if he assumed that Taehyung was finally slowly loosening up to him when he actually wasn't.

Taehyung, however, who was still sitting on the couch, was silently watching him as he prepares Taehyung his food, setting it on the plate so that the younger could eat.

A vampire who has the blood of royalty such as Taehyung could eat normal human foods to satisfy their hunger. That's why they're special.

But nevertheless, they will still want blood because they are vampires after all. Their sanity won't last long without drinking blood after a week or two.

"What about you? Did you eat?" Jeongguk who was preparing the food froze. He looks at the younger, shocked, eyes wide because--- Did Taehyung just ask about him??????

If he was hungry????? Usually, Taehyung doesn't care if he ate or not because the younger was so busy avoiding him in general and he totally understands it.

The younger was still mad at him because of the unwanted marriage, but he'll wait.

Even if it would take another year, decades, or even a century. He will wait for him.

And now maybe it's finally happening. Maybe-- just maybe, after two years, Taehyung is starting to open up to Jeongguk. Maybe.

Jeongguk felt his stomach growl a little, but he shrugs it off. He can manage.

"No... B-but it's okay, you can eat first. I-I'll just eat later.." He stuttered, completely flustered, feeling mixed emotions but mostly fear since Taehyung is finally talking to him.

He fears that the younger would yell and say something bad about him again.

"You're hungry?" The younger asks again, and Jeongguk was so sure the other heard his stomach growl. He mentally scolds his stomach for even growling in front of Taehyung. His stomach is mocking him though.

His stomach growled again and he just looks up at Taehyung with an embarrassed blushing face.

He's recovering from the shock earlier so he let out a long sigh before answering properly to Taehyung.

"A little." He replied shortly. He was hungry, actually. A lot. But he would just let Taehyung eat first and not disturb him. He doesn't want the younger to be annoyed at his presence.

He doesn't want to make the same mistake that he did before when he tried to eat with the younger, it resulted to Taehyung insulting him to no end, saying how dare he even it with him and blah blah blah and leaves saying that he lost his appetite because of Jeongguk's presence.

"It's okay, really. You can eat first. I'll just eat later." smiling forcefully at the younger, remembering those painful memories.

He was about to go when he felt a hand on his wrist.

"Wait!" he heard.

He turned around to the younger, confused. Starting between Taehyung and his wrist with the other's hand holding it.

He felt electricity and sparks on his wrist where Taehyung was holding, butterflies on his stomach as he felt like his heart would explode because of how fast it was pounding inside his chest.

"W-what is it?.." he again stuttered. He started at Taehyung for the first time today in the eye longer than it has earlier.

He saw Taehyung's eyes have.....desperation?

Jeongguk couldn't really tell. Maybe he was wrong?

Besides, why would Taehyung be desperate for him? He doesn't even like Jeongguk one bit. But why---

"C-could you join me? Let's-- let's eat together... " Taehyung said shyly.

This was the first time Jeongguk was asked by the younger to eat with him so you could tell how embarrassed Taehyung is when he asked the older to join him.

He needs to do it. So he should.

However, the clueless Jeongguk looks at him in adoration, cheeks tinted in pink color. His doe eyes sparkling and he was smiling ear to ear. He looked so happy.

Poor Jeongguk.

If he only knew.
