I'm sorry
Soon the cops came, as well as an ambulance for Sam.
"Please help him!" Jessica cried as they placed Sam onto a stretcher.
She then watched as they shut the ambulance doors.
Jessica then walked over to Danny who was handcuffed.
"You son of a bitch! You ruin everything! You always ruin everything!" She screams as an officer pulls her away.
"You better hope he doesn't die, YOU DUMBASS! I HATE YOU! I FUCKING HATE YOUUUU!"
"MOMMY! MY DADDY! WHERE SHAMMY?" Jessica hears Julia shout.
"Fuck you, Daniel Huston." She says before she walks over and takes Julia from Christine.
"Mommy!"
"Come here, baby girl.." Jessica holds her tight before looking Christine in the eyes.
"Thank you.." She speaks softy.
"Of course.." Christine looks down and nervously rubs her arm.
"I'm sorry."
"You leave his ass. Take those boys and never look back, do you hear me?
Never Look Back!"
Christine looks into Jessica's eyes and nods her head.
"I hope he's okay, Jessica."
"Me too.."
**
Jessica called her mother on the way to the hospital.
Ann is now on her way to pick up Julia. She will be staying at her house tonight.
Jane is on her way to help Albert out with the rest of the kids, and Dorothy and George are on their way to be with Jessica at the hospital.
"Mommy.. is my Shammy gonna be okay?"
"Yeah baby.. he's gonna be okay. I promise.."
"My daddy hit him so hard.. he was bleedin'!"
"I know but let's not think about that right now. We just have to pray super super hard, okay?"
"Okay.."
"We have to pray that Sam is pain free as soon as possible..
We have to pray that the doctors help him and that he's good as new as soon as possible!"
"Please God.. Please please please.." Julia says cuddling into her mother's chest.
**
Soon Ann, George and Dorothy arrived.
"How's he doing?" Dorothy asks.
"I don't know. I don't know anything."
Dorothy sighs.
"He is going to rot in hell, Jessica."
"I know that, mom." Jessica said lightly patting Julia's back.
"Is she sleeping?"
"Yeah.. she's had a hard day." Jessica softly kisses the top of her head.
"Poor baby."
"I'll go ahead and take her before they come out to speak with you.
Please keep me updated." Ann says.
"I will. I'll send it in the family group text." George says.
"Thank you, George. And please, no one post anything on social media. I appreciate the prayers but, the last thing I need right now is judgmental visitors." Jessica says.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. We'll make sure no one knows a thing." Dorothy gives her daughter a soft smile.
"Thank you.. here Ann. You have clothes she can wear? Poor thing is still in her uniform."
"Yeah, I have lots of clothes! No worries."
"Thank you."
Julia wakes up when she feels Ann attempting to take her from her mother.
"Eh! Noooo..' She whines softly. "I want my mommy.."
"Baby girl, remember I told you you were going to spend the night at auntie Annie's with your cousins?"
Julia whines and places her hands on the back of Jessica's neck.
"Mommyyyy.. Mommyyyy!" She cries.
Jessica stands up and gently bounces her.
"It's okay. Mommy will see you in the morning, okay?"
"I no want to leave my daddy." Julia spoke in a low whine.
"I know but baby girl, only adults are allowed in the room. Go with aunt Ann and get a good nights sleep, and in the morning you can come back and hopefully see him."
"Okayyy.."
Jessica kisses her cheek.
"That's a good girl. I love you, baby."
"I love you too, mommy."
**
It is now an hour and a half after Ann left with Julia, and still they have not heard a single word.
"Two hours and not a word. This isn't good." Jessica says fiddling with her hands.
"They're helping him.. no news is good news, I think.." Dorothy rubs her back.
Jessica stares down to the ground, then nods her head.
"Just last week he was talking about marrying me.. Why haven't I married him, mom? I love him so much.
If he.. if he dies.. I'll never be Mrs. Samuel Shepard. Ever."
"Honey, he isn't going to die."
"He loves me, ma. He really really loves me.
.... And I love him. So much! How am I going to live without him?"
"Stop talking like this, Jessica! He's going to be fine!"
"I saw it all happen, mom. It didn't look good.
Everyone I love leaves me.. I can't lose him, mom. I can't lose him!" Jessica lowers her head as she cries.

One week ago.
Jessica laid on her side, sleeping peacefully. The sun shining through the window, and the birds chirping.
Sam moved over and smiled when he saw her beautiful face.
"Jessie.. wake up, Jessie." Sam hummed softly.
He then poked her nose, then kissed it softly.
"Mmmm.." Jessica whines and gently pushes him off of her.
"What is it, baby button?"
"Your mustache tickles!" She whines as she stares up to him with a cute pout.
"Aw, I'm sorry!"
"It's okay, I forgive you!" Jessica smiles big.
"Well that was a quick mood change!" Sam chuckles.
Jessica giggles as she places her hands against his bare back.
"Kiss me."
Sam smiles softly before kissing Jessica's soft lips.
"Mmm.. you know you're truly in love when you kiss them before either one of you has brushed their teeth."
Jessica giggles and gently squeezes Sam's arms.
"Jessie?"
"Yeah?"
"When are you gonna marry me?"
"When I have a moment to breathe. Let's see.. Evie is four and a half months old, soooo.. maybe in seventeen years?"
"Jess.."
"I'm kidding, Sammy!" Jessica smiles and holds his cheeks.
"But it is crazy right now. Maybe we can start planning some time next year."
"I want to marry you tomorrow. I want you to be my wife."
"Aw, aren't you cute!"
"I really am, Jess."
Jessica giggles as she snakes her leg up against his body.
Sam then kisses her lips and places his hand on her thigh.
"Mmm.. oh Sam.." She moans softly.
Sam's kisses then travel down Jessica's neck.
Jessica giggled from the tickle of his facial hair.
"Sammy, it's Sunday!" She squeals.
Sam then looks up and says, "God understands!"

"If I could, I'd marry that man tomorrow."
"I know, baby" Dorothy sighs and pats Jessica's back.
"The family of Samuel Shepard."
"Yes? That's me! Is he okay?!"
"Are you his wife?"
"I'm his fiancé."
"I'm sorry, ma'am, unless you're a family member or his wife, I cannot release any information about the patient."
"No! No, of course you can tell me! I'm his fiancé! We have kids together!"
"I'm sorry, ma'am."
"His parents are on her way but they're driving from Chicago! They won't be here till early morning! Please! Just tell me he's okay!"
"I am very sorry ma'am. I wish I could."
"Please! Please tell me he's okay!" Jessica sobs.
