Episode 6: Reading Books

3rd Person POV (Gonna keep trying this out)

Shuichi's mind continued to go back to the previous night, as he walked to the dinning hall. Was it all a dream? Did Kokichi also faintly remember what had happened? Shuichi couldn't be sure, and he sure as hell wasn't going to bring it up. He could still hear the small boy's soft moans in his ear. The thought made Shuichi blush. He shook his head in an attempt to make the blush go away. Luck was on his side, he felt his face get less warm as he pulled the door to the dinning room open, to be meet with a few faces looking at him, and a few continuing to look down and eat.

As Kirumi placed the detective's food down in front of him, his eyes found his way to Kokichi's who was looking down at his food with a bored expression. Shuichi sighed of relief. It seems the leader didn't remember what had transpired the previous night between them. With that in his mind, Shuichi began to eat the maid's delicious food she had prepared for him. Kaito sat next to him talking to the bluenett about random, and most likely not true, stories while Shuichi half listened to what the astronuat was saying. Shuchi saw the purple haired leader walk out the dinning, presumibly had finished eating. He blushed. He was going to give Kokichi a date ticket today. Does that mean Shuichi is interested in the boy?

He finished eating and thanked Kirumi for the meal before leaving the dinning room to find the little liar. He walked around for about ten minutes before finding Kokichi sitting next to a tree with the same bored expression he had seen earlier. Shuichi walked up to him with a warm smile as he greeted him.

"H-hey Kokichi." The bluenett said shyly.

"Heyya Shuichi! What you up too?" The purplenett responded.

"N-nothing much, you?" He said, as the memories of last night made their way into Shuichi's mind again.

"Shhuuichhiii!!! I'm boorredd"

"W-well...how 'bout we go to the library?" The detective suggested, pulling out the date ticket in his pocket and showed it to Kokichi, looking away with a blush face.

"A detective asking a leader to go to the library with him? This shouldn't be boring!" He said taking the ticket out of Shuichi's hand and examining it before putting it in his own pocket.

"O-kay! Let's go!" Kokichi says while grabbing Shuichi's hand and running to the library with the detective stumbling a bit.

They arrive at the library, taking in the smell of dusty books on the old looking shelves. Kokichi starts looking around at the many neatly placed books, still holding Shuichi's hand; to which he's blushing at. They scan the random assortment of books atop the shelves. There were many kinds, many even sutured to the each of the classmates talents. Shuichi grabs a mystery book that was placed in between many others on the shelf. He examines it. A Detective's Final Case. The cover had a picture of what was most likely a detective on it, with a worried and serious face. Kokichi noticed Shuichi examining the book.

"Oh hey! Whatcha got there?" He says while looking at the book as well.

"A mystery novel apparently." The taller responds.

"Well, do you want to read it?"

"I-I suppose so.." Just as Shuichi said that, the leader pulled them to a corner of the room and sat down, patting the space next to him, gesturing for the tall boy to sit next to him. He hesitantly does so, making sure there was enough space between the two so that it wouldn't be uncomfortable and awkward. Kokichi fully breaks that space be scooting closer to Shuichi and peering over his shoulder, making Shuichi blush.

"Soo...You gonna read it?" Kokichi asks breaking the silence. Shuichi blushes more and opens the book to the first page and reads it.

"Shuichi, can you read it to me?" The purple boy says innocently.

"U-um, sure." He responds.

Shuichi reads the mystery novel to Kokichi, becoming less and less tense as he goes on. Soon enough he felt comfortable sitting next to the small boy and his words became more confident. When there was dialog lines in the book, Kokichi would read those aloud, making different pitches of his voice to give the characters, making Shuichi giggle at the boy's playfulness. They were about 13 chapters in when Shuichi felt a slighlt heavy weight on the side of him. He stopped reading and moved his head towards the weight. He saw a sleeping Kokichi there, his head leaning on the taller's shoulder. Shuichi blushed and chuckled at the sight. He put the book down to his side and took off his jacket and carefully put it on the sleeping boy.

Shuichi continued reading as he heard the small snores coming from the leader. His eyes focused on the chest of Kokichi, watching it rise and fall, indicating that he was breathing. He felt a warm feeling in his chest. It was a feeling he had felt in the past, but it was never as warm or as strong as it was when Kokichi was near him. It was a nice feeling, but why was he feeling it when Kokichi is around? Shuichi tried to push the thought into the back of his mind for the time being, and continued to read the book. He was now half way through it. He quickly figured out the culprit of the book before they reveled it.

Some time had pasted and Shuichi had now finished the book. He looked to the side to find the leader still sleeping peacefully on his shoulder. Though there weren't any windows in the library, Shuichi could tell it was getting dark outside. He took his jacket off Kokichi and saw his expression change from a peaceful one, to a slightly irritated one because of the coldness that was now hitting him. Shuichi lightly nudged him away.

"Hey Kokichi, wake up." He said whispering. Kokichi's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Hmm?" He hummed grogglely.

"You feel asleep while we were reading." Shuichi said with a warm smile.

"Oh. Oops, sorry Shuichi!" Kokichi said returning to his energetic self. Shuichi chuckled at the sudden change of mood. He put the book to his side and stood up, extending a hand to Kokichi.

"How polite of you." The leader said taking the hand and standing up as well.

"We should get going, it's getting late." Shuichi stated.

"O-kay!"

They walked put of the library and started making their way to the dorms. Once they got to the small building, Shuichi walked Kokichi to his room.

"Bye Kokichi, I'll see you tommarrow." Shuichi said with a smile and a wave.

"Cya Shuichi! I had a lot of fun today!" Kokichi responded, making the detective blush.

He closed the door and Shuichi made his way to his own room. He took out his key and unlocked it. Once he closed and locked his door after stepping in, he walked over to the bed and collapsed on it. Today was a nice day. He thought to himself. The bluenett them got on pajamas and quickly layed back down. It didn't take that long to drift off into a peaceful sleep while thinking about the day he just had and smiling. Meanwhile, Kokichi is wide awake, a blushing mess at the fact that he had fallen asleep on the detective.
