☆ Chapter 3 ☆
"Do you want a lift home?"
"No, it's fine. I can walk."
"Are you sure?"
You thought for a minute.
"Actually, that would be nice... it's starting to get dark. But only if it's not a problem."
He sighed.
"Of course it's not a problem, if it was I wouldn't have offered."
"Oh, okay..."
"I just have to tidy this up real quick,"
Levi said, referring to the papers that were spread across the floor. You nodded, bending down to help him pick up the papers. You gave them to him and he placed them in neat piles.
"Come on, let's go,"
Levi said, walking toward the door. You grabbed your bag and followed him, checking you had your house keys in your pocket, considering that was the reason you were here in the first place. Levi locked the door to his office, then started making his way through the halls with you beside him. The two of you walked through the front gates, Levi locking them as you passed. You walked across the street to Levi's black car. He unlocked it and the two of you climbed into his car; his extremely clean car. Levi climbed into the drivers seat and started the engine.. He started to drive down the street. It wasn't long before you were nearing your house.
"That's my house there,"
You said, pointing out the house. Levi turned into the driveway and parked behind your car.
"Is that your car?"
He asked.
"Yeah, but I don't use it much; most places I need to go are in walking distance."
"Right,"
"Thanks for the lift, bye,"
You said, unbuckling your seatbelt.
"I'll walk you to the door,"
"Oh, okay then,"
The both of you climbed out of the car. You walked to the front door and pulled your keys from the pocket, unlocking the door.
"Do you live alone?"
Levi asked, looking at the two-storey house.
"Mmhm,"
You mumbled, fiddling with your keys.
"Where are your parents?"
His question made you tense up.
"I'm sorry; you don't have to tell me if you don't want to,"
You recovered and unlocked the door, stepping inside.
"No, it's okay,"
"So uh...Where are your parents?"
He asked cautiously, not wanting to upset you.
"The cemetery,"
You replied calmly. It had been years since you had been asked that question; most people already knew not to ask.
"Oh, I'm really sorry,"
Levi apologized,
"It's okay..."
You said quietly,
"Do you have any other family?"
"Yeah, I've got an older brother, but I don't see him much. He moved away about a year ago now."
"Right,"
"Um, do you want to come in?"
You asked, since he was still standing in the doorway.
"Sure,"
He stepped inside.
"How about I stay for dinner, we can order in or something? I feel bad for asking about your parents..."
"Um okay... if you want to?"
You said, walking toward the living room and sitting down. Levi followed you, sitting beside you. You sat in silence before Levi piped up.
"What do you want to eat?"
You shrugged.
"I don't know, it's up to you,"
Levi thought for a minute.
"Chinese okay with you?"
You nodded.
"I'll go find their number,"
You pulled out your phone and looked up their number.
"Found it,"
You said, looking up at Levi.
"What'd you want?"
"I'll have whatever you're having,"
He replied. You thought for a moment.
"Okay,"
You called the number and ordered for the two of you. Meanwhile, Levi had got up off the couch and started looking around. You kept the place clean, but maybe Levi's definition of clean was different to yours because as he examined the room, he had a disgusted look on his face. You finished ordering and hung up. Levi had walked into the kitchen and was probably inspecting to make sure it was 'clean'. You stood up from the couch, making your way into the kitchen. Surely enough, Levi was looking at the stovetop, grimacing at any sign of something being even slightly dirty. You walked over to him.
"Finished."
You said, smiling. Levi came over to you and placed his hands on your hips, pressing his lips to yours.
☆☆☆
You and Levi were sitting on the couch again. There were three loud knocks at the door.
"I'll get it,"
Levi said, getting up off the couch. He opened the door. The young delivery boy held out two boxes.
"That'll be $30,"
He said. Levi handed him the money, thanked him and shut the door. He came back to you on the couch. It felt weird; having him here, in your house. He sat down beside you, handing you one of the boxes and a pair of chopsticks.
"You want to watch a movie or something?"
You asked.
"Sure, what movies have you got?"
"Um, they're just over there, you can choose."
"Okay,"
He got up off the couch and looked through the rack full of movies.
"How about this one?"
He said, pulling out a movie.
"What is it?"
"The Conjuring."
'Of course he had to choose a scary movie.' You thought to yourself. You hated horror movies. You didn't even know where that movie came from, it was probably the only horror movie you owned.
"Sure,"
You answered; Not wanting to embarrass yourself by saying no. Levi walked over to the TV and put the disc in, coming to sit beside you again. He slung his arm around your shoulders. You tensed up, causing him to look over at you,
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing!"
You said, shaking your head.
"Hm? Okay..."
He took one last glance at you before turning back to the screen. You looked down at the box of food in front of you, starting to eat as the movie started. You unconsciously snuggled into Levi, seeking the comfort and protection. It actually worked quite well, seeming to not be as scared. He held you close, eating as well.
Ding, Dong
The doorbell rung, causing you to jump.
"It's just the doorbell,"
Levi said, chuckling softly.
"Who is it anyway?"
He asked, pausing the movie.
"I don't know..."
