Flashback to Y/N, Thomas, and Colter's childhood:

It was a normal day in the Scorch.

Thomas and Colter were getting into their usual trouble.. which was nothing new for them..

Thomas was digging through a GIANT pile of Junk.. like he was looking for something...

"Come on T we have to get back before the sun goes down. You know (Y/N) is gonna be worried about us."
Colter tells me..

"I know. I just need like five more minutes." I tell him.

"Fine. But don't tell me I told you so if we come across some cranks on our way back." Colter tells me.

"We won't come across any cranks. You worry too much Tracker." Thomas says.

Colter laughs at Thomas.. "I worry too much..

"Found it." Thomas says with a smile on his face holding a bracelet with an imprint of a snowflake on it.

"Great (Y/N'S) gonna love it. Can we go now?" Colter asks a little annoyed with me.

Just as I'm about to answer we both hear the loudest screech coming in our direction..

I look and what I see makes my blood go cold..

A GIANT Horde of Cranks..

"Oh Shuck! We better move it!" Colter yells..

I jump from the top of the pile and as soon as I land.. my feet don't stop both Colter and I take off running..

We run and run.. while still having the cranks on our tail..

I look over at Colter and yell "We need to lead them away somehow.. I can't risk them getting near my sister." Colter nods..

Colter looks at the group before he continues with his story..

"How did you lead the cranks away?" The twins ask..

Colter laughs.. "I was getting to that part of the story."

Colter looks over at (Y/N) and says "I'm sure you know that your brother is quite reckless.. especially when it comes to you."

"Yeah I've learned that about him." I say.

Colter looks at the group and says "Well Thomas was so reckless when we were friends that he used himself as bait and led the cranks away from where him and (Y/N) lived."

I looked up at Tommy and was stunned that he did that but not at all surprised..

"So after I knew the cranks were gone and (Y/N) was safe.. I got her from her house and we went looking for Thomas."

"Lucky for me Thomas left some shoe imprints in the dirt and his trail was easy to follow. Once we found him I tell you I've never seen a little girl so happy to see her Big Brother.. (Y/N) ran right up to him and jumped into his arms." Colter tells everyone.

"So what was that about we aren't going to run into any Cranks?" Colter asks Thomas..

Thomas just punches his friend in the arm..

"Ohh.. What was that for?" Colter asks..

"That's me saying that you were right about the cranks. I'm sorry I shouldn't have put us both in danger." Thomas says..

"It's alright T. I forgive you. Besides
(Y/N) would miss my superpower. If I ever went away. So I guess we are stuck with each other." Colter tells Thomas.

Thomas just laughs at his friend as he ends his storytelling..

"Is that why (Y/N) calls you Tracker?" Minho asks.

"Yes. I've got a skill for tracking people down." He tells everyone.

Thomas chuckles "Yeah my sister has always called it your superpower.
Every time we would play Hide and Seek (Y/N) would always think Colter was cheating with his 'Superpower." Thomas tells the group..

And they all laugh..

Those were the days living with NO worries. Carefree.. Thomas says..

(Y/N) smiles at her Husband, brother, parents, and all her friends.. knowing they can sit by the fire and just be normal is PERFECT!!
