Kristen's POV
I woke up to my alarm clock. I turned it off and slowly got up. I yawned and went over to Ariel to wake her  up. I shook her awake and she yawned then turned to me.
"Good morning Kristen." Ariel said as she rubbed her eyes.
"Morning Ariel. Remember today we gotta do our chores today." I say as she starts to get up.
    We both get dressed and go downstairs to eat breakfast. As we enter the living room my dad and some random dude are talking with each other.
   "One second." My dad says to the guy then turns to us. "Morning girls! This is Rhett. He now works here at the shack!" My dad says.
"Hey." Rhett says.
"Hi!" I say back. I look over at Ariel who is staring Rhett uncomfortably. I smile and elbow her. She blinks and looks at me stepping on my foot. I laugh and we both walk into the kitchen. As we enter Jackie is sitting there singing while drawing, Linda is playing with her food, Jason is sleeping, Alex is playing on his phone, and Tiffany is eating.
"Hey guys!" I say cheerfully as I come in and go straight for the food. Ariel comes in looking like she was now fully awake. She doesn't say anything as she sits down.
I think someone has a crush!
Ariel's POV
Today was a huge day for us all, it was our first mystery hunt thing!!! I bring the journal, Kristen brings water, Jason brings food, Jackie brings medical supplies, Linda brought a flashlight, and Alex brings a pocket knife. We were so prepared for this it really showed our parents how excited and ready we were. As we were all running out the door my dad stopped me.
"Be careful okay?" My dad said to me. "I really don't want this 'Mystery Hunt' to end up with you guys in the hospital or worse."
"Dad I doubt that we are going to get hurt." I smiled and paused. "But don't worry I'll be super careful." I said walking out the door catch up with everyone else.
"So you guys are serious about this?" Jackie asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah I am completely serious about this Jackie." I said grabbing the journal. I flipped through a couple pages stopping at one that had been ripped out. I shrug and continue walking putting the journal back in my jacket.
We continue walking around until we find so weird hole in the ground. We could see a glowing light inside of it.
   "Who's going in first?" Kristen asked.
   It was silent until Alex spoke up. "Um...I guess I will."
   "Okay but be careful! The hole looks like it goes really far down." I say grabbing the flashlight from Linda.
   "So uh how am I supposed to get down there?" Alex asked making everyone look around.
   "What about that rope that's conveniently place right there." Jackie asks pointing to a rope that was right next to the hole.
   "Oh well, that works." I laugh grabbing the rope. "Since we can't hold you up with just ourselves I'm gonna go ahead a tie this to a tree." I tie the rope to the tree then hand the rope to Alex. He ties it to his backpack because 'it's much safer doing this way.' The rest of us grab the rope a lower him down.
   He points the flashlight at the glowing things to reveal that it's actually some weird looking cave creatures. We finally get him to the bottom and Alex starts looking around with the flashlight.
   "Looks safe to me!" He yells. "Who's coming down with me?" We all say 'me!' excitedly. "It can only be one of you because someone's gonna need to pull us up. What about you Ariel?" He asks.
   "Sure!!!" I yell excitedly.
   "Okay then." He takes off his backpack. "Bring it up!" We do as told a bring the backpack up. "Now Ariel put it on and the rest of you lower Ariel down!!"
   I put on the backpack but before I was lowered down we saw someone. "Tiffany?" I say making everyone look over.
   "Oh hey guys what are you doing?" Tiffany asks as brushes her dirty hair out of he face.
   "We are going on a mystery hunt!" Linda blurted out.
   "Is it just you guys? It doesn't seem like Pacifica would ever let you guys come out here by yourself." Tiffany said as patted Linda's head.
   "Oh yeah we are here with Alex. He's down there." Kristen smiled.
   "Oh he's here with you guys." Tiffany said rolling her eyes.
"Hey guys what's taking so long?!" Alex yelled.
"Tiffany's here!" I yelled back.
"Oh she's here." Alex said as he crossed his arms.
"What do you two have against each other?" I asked.
"That isn't important. Now let's just lower whoever is next." Tiffany said grabbing the rope.
   "I'm going down next." I said putting the backpack back on.
   "Alright let's lower you down then."
