Abandoned by One. Blessed by Another.
The young Kalosian boy sighed, looking out the window. Winter was one of the worst and best times of the year for him. He hated days like this- the days where the freezing weather would bring colds and pain. But he also loved winter because it was the season that his sister was born in. And he loved his sister.
The door to his room opened. The boy, Calem, turned and smiled at the young Unovian girl, a girl who was two years younger than him. "Hey, Noel."
"Hey, Calem. How are you doing?" She asked, coming over to sit by him.
"Much better. Resting helped. I don't feel nearly as congested now. I can finally breathe again."
"That's great to hear. Did you eat anything today?"
"A little. Not like I felt much like eating, anyways. But I have to do it."
"Good." Noel smiled and kissed his cheek and, although this was a common friendly greeting in the Kalos region, it made Calem blush.
"Oh, by the way, I'm gonna be going with Shauna, Trevor, Tierno, and Serena to Shalour City. We want to watch one of Korrina's matches there. If you're feeling well enough to join, you can."
Calem nodded. "Will do." He got up to start getting ready.
"Remember to take a pill for your cold before you head out!" Noel shouted over her shoulder.
Calem got ready and took the medicine before walking out the front door. The others were waiting for him.
"Hey, Calem!" Serena hugged him gently. "I can see that you're doing better!"
"Yeah, um, thanks," Calem said awkwardly, blushing a bit.
"No problem! But still, take it easy. We don't want it returning."
Calem nodded, wrapping his scarf around his face a bit tighter. It was freezing outside, and the majority of his face was already red. It was hard to tell whether the color was from his cold, the freezing temperature, or the fact that two girls had acted romantically towards him today.
"Let's go before we all freeze to death."
As the group walked to Shalour City, Calem suddenly had a flashback to when his parents had first brought Noel home. He had been so excited, hearing that he was going to be getting a little sister. But the moment he laid eyes on her..... something sparked.
Calem remembered going up to Noel and holding out his hand, remembered her tiny hand grabbing his finger. He smiled at that memory. And then.....
"Calem? Calem, are you okay?"
He snapped out of his thoughts. "S-Sorry..... I was just thinking about something."
"Well..... we're here. Shalour City. You can look around if you'd like, but we're heading into the Gym."
Calem nodded and headed towards the Gym, shivering slightly as he walked inside. He headed straight towards the locker room and walked inside while the others headed into the stadium.
"So you made it. Glad to see that you're feeling better."
Calem looked up and smiled. "Well....."
"Hey." Korrina walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him. "You should really work up a stronger immune system. Might keep you from getting sick all the time."
"I have a naturally weak immune system. You know this." He blushed and hugged her back.
"Yeah, I know. I'm just teasing." Korrina smiled at him. "There's someone I would like you to meet."
"Oh?"
A young platinum blonde walked up to them. She kinda hid behind Korrina, peeking out from behind her.
"This is my sister, Faith."
Calem looked at Faith, trying not to stare. She really was a pretty girl, and Calem felt something spark inside of him.
Faith looked at him and blushed intensely, her eyes sparkling. Calem blushed and looked away.
Noticing the exchange, Korrina giggled. "This is adorable!"
"W-Wha- no it's not!!!"
Korrina smiled. "If you say so. How about you two get to know each other?"
Faith slowly nodded.
"U-Um..... sure, I guess," Calem said.
Korrina smiled and left to heal up her Pokémon before the next match.
"So..... how about we..... walk around the city?" Calem asked Faith.
"Sure..... but didn't Korrina mention something about your cold? Are you sure you'll be able to handle it?" Faith asked.
"That's something I'm worried about. But I'm sure I can manage," Calem replied.
"Okay." Faith smiled.
Calem smiled back. "Let's go."

And now, bloopers for this chapter:
This was one of those awkward moments when you have absolutely no idea what to say, so you end up saying something like, "Thanks" or "You too", even though it makes no sense at all. Even after re-writing the script, it was still awkward, but it made more sense than before. What are your guys' thoughts?
Faith: Personally, I think it was maybe one of the funniest ones for the chapter. There isn't much to laugh at during this. This blooper is golden. Absolutely priceless.
Serena: I'm just trying to figure out why I blushed during this.
Noel: I was just confused, to be completely honest.
Calem: I was embarrassed. Really. That has to be one of the worst awkward-moment scenarios ever.
Faith: Yeah, but it was funny.
Calem: N-No it wasn't!!!
Faith: It was. I have a meme that matches it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serena: I couldn't help myself! I thought it would be cute.
Faith: You literally called him out for that before I was even introduced.
Serena: Still!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Faith: Oh god. Please no. Don't remind me of that. I'm gonna blush again.
Korri: Because you like him!
Faith: Just..... stop.
Calem: I mean, I'm not gonna complain about it- wait what?
Faith: 0///0
Korrina: 👁👄👁
