CHAPTER 8

No one's POV:-

Time skip (to the end of the university)

Y/n exited the university premises and walked toward the nearby bus stand, where Jungkook would pick her up. She waited for him to arrive with his car.

As she stood there, a classmate, Ro-woon, approached her. He was also waiting for his bus.

Ro-woon: Hey, Y/n. Waiting for your ride?

Ro-woon was a nice guy, and Y/n occasionally talked with him when she needed something, like missed notes. They weren't close friends, but they weren't strangers either.

Y/n: Yeah.

She replied with a smile, and they began chatting about classes. While they talked, Y/n noticed a black car parked a little distance away. She recognized it immediately-it was Jungkook's car.

Jungkook arrived but hesitated to approach upon seeing Ro-woon at the bus stop. He decided to wait patiently until Ro-woon left.

Ro-woon noticed the car as well and commented,

Ro-woon: Isn't that Mr. Jeon's car?

He pointed toward the car, and Y/n felt a twinge of anxiety, knowing Jungkook was waiting for her.

Y/n: Yeah, it seems like it.

She tried to keep her tone casual, not wanting to arouse suspicion.

Ro-woon: Is he waiting for someone, or... could he be waiting for you?

He asked, raising an eyebrow. He had noticed on several occasions the way their professor and Y/n looked at each other.

Y/n: Ye- I mean, n-no. Why would he be waiting for me?

Y/n stuttered slightly, trying to dismiss the idea. Ro-woon looked at her thoughtfully.

Ro-woon: Well, maybe not. But I've noticed the way he looks at you sometimes, like there's something more.

Y/n: No, it's nothing. You're being ridiculous.

Ro-woon: Hope so.

Just then, the bus arrived. Ro-woon boarded but glanced back, noticing Y/n wasn't joining him.

Ro-woon: Hey, aren't you coming?

Y/n: Ah, I'm waiting for Jisoo. We'll take the next bus.

She lied smoothly, hoping Ro-woon wouldn't question it. He seemed to accept her explanation.

Ro-woon: Okay, see you tomorrow.

Y/n: Bye.

As the bus disappeared from view, Y/n took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. She glanced around, ensuring no one else was nearby, then walked over to Jungkook's car. The tinted window rolled down, revealing his composed yet slightly concerned expression.

Jungkook: Are you okay?

Y/n nodded.

Y/n: Yeah, just a little nervous.

She opened the door and slid into the passenger seat, the soft leather cool against her skin. There was a charged silence between them as Jungkook started the engine and pulled away from the curb. The familiar hum of the car and the city lights whizzing seemed to amplify the tension.

Y/n: Thanks for picking me up.

Jungkook: Of course. I thought it would be easier this way...

He glanced over at her, his expression softening. There was something comforting in the way he looked at her, a silent promise of safety and understanding.

Jungkook: What did Ro-woon say?

Y/n hesitated a little and ended up telling him about the conversation she had with Rowoon

Y/n: He noticed your car. Asked if you were waiting for me.

Jungkook sighed

Jungkook: We need to be careful. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

Y/n felt a pang of disappointment at his words, but she understood the gravity of the situation. They were walking on a dangerous path, and any misstep can lead them to serious consequences.

Y/n: I know. I'll be more careful.

There was a moment of quiet before Jungkook spoke again with a soft voice.

Jungkook: I'm sorry if this is making things difficult for you.

Y/n shook her head in denial and reassured him.

Y/n: No, it's not. I... I want this. Us. But it's just... complicated.

Jungkook agreed with her.

Jungkook: Yeah, it is.

Then he started driving in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. The weight of their situation hung heavy in the air, but there was also an undeniable pull between them, a connection that neither could ignore.

As they reached a quieter part of town, Jungkook slowed the car and pulled into a secluded parking spot. He turned off the engine and turned to face Y/n.

Jungkook: We need to talk about what we're doing. About where this is going.

Y/n looked at him, her heart racing. This was it-the moment they had to confront the reality of their feelings and the potential consequences. She knew they couldn't continue like this without acknowledging the risks and the depth of their emotions.

Y/n: I know. We need to be honest with each other, about what we want.

Jungkook reached out, gently taking her hand in his. His touch was warm and reassuring, a stark contrast to the uncertainty they faced.

Jungkook: Whatever happens, I want you to know that I care about you. But we have to be smart about this.

Y/n squeezed his hand, feeling a mix of emotions-fear, excitement, and an overwhelming sense of belonging. She nodded, meeting his gaze with determination.

Y/n: I care about you too. And I'll do whatever it takes to make this work.

Y/n calmed her worries as she gazed into his dark brown eyes, finishing with a smile to convey the weight of her words.

Jungkook leaned in and gently kissed the back of her hand, reassuring her with his actions.

The gesture sent a jolt through Y/n's body, and butterflies erupted within her. A blush spread across her cheeks, turning them a soft crimson.

He smiled at her reaction, finding it adorable, and felt a deep desire to hold her in his arms and never let go.

After a moment, he started the car again, but this time he held her hand, caressing it occasionally as he drove with the other.

He stopped his car at her apartment and both of them shared a little talk and parted their ways.

Time skip to the cafe where Jisoo works

Jisoo POV:-

I came to the cafe after the university and went to the restroom to change my clothes.
When I came back after wearing my uniform, I stopped seeing the world wide handsome, Seokjin, my crush.

Seokjin: Hello

Seokjin chimed with a world wide smile dangling on his face.

Jisoo: Hi

Seokjin: How was the day so far.

Jisoo: It's been good, but I am feeling a bit drained.

Seokjin: Then take a break for sometime.

Jisoo: Nahh, it's ok. I still have energy left.

I replied him with a hint of assurance in my tone. We were talking but our conversation was interrupted by our manager.

Manager: What are you doing here. We have customers to attend to,  go and serve their orders. You can chat later.

Looking around I found the cafe environment a bit more crowded than before and realised we needed to start our work.

Jisoo: I will talk with you later. Let's start our work.

Seokjin: Yeah

We headed in different directions to initiate our work.

Taking orders, serving drinks and food and making sure our customers has a great experience. With this flow, the time passes.

After some time, the crowd seems less. The sits are deserted. Ensuring the remaining customers have no problems, I headed to the counter area for taking a short break.

Shifts of many staffs are also over and there aren't many staffs to attain customers. I was sitting when the bell rang indicating, my not so long break is over.

When I went to the new costumer, I saw a man and a woman. Maybe they are a couple, that's what I guessed. But the woman seemed familar to me.

And yes, I know her she is Jeon Yerin, Mr. Jeon's wife. I have never met her but I have seen her in the university functions.

So my guess was wrong, they aren't a couple. I felt a little bad for Y/n at that moment seeing her.

Y/n has a crush on Mr. Jeon from so long but he is already married and Mrs. Jeon is also a beautiful lady. They both must be a happy couple.

Jisoo: What would you like to order..?

I asked maintaining my professionalism deciding not to reveal my identity of being a student of his husband.

The man who was with her replied,

Man: We would like to have two latte's only.

I am guessing, he might be her friend. Ignoring my guessing game, I took their order and went to the counter.

When their order is ready, I delivered it to them and came back to take a rest. I watched them, they stayed here for like 30 minutes talking and then went.

After some time, my shift also ended. I went to the restroom, changed my clothes and headed back to my apartment.

Jungkook POV:-

(Living room)

Today is one of the most beautiful days for me. Of course, Y/n accepted my proposal, and now we're officially together. Thinking about the moments in my cabin, a smile formed on my lips unknowingly.

I know it's not right, but I can't help how I feel. I'm aware that I'm not being fair to Yerin, and it feels like I'm cheating on her, but I swear that when the right time comes, I'll tell her everything.

I promise to be honest with her and make sure she doesn't feel betrayed. I'll also ensure that Y/n doesn't feel like just another woman. I'll make everything right. Once Y/n and I are ready to face the world together, we'll reveal the truth to Yerin and our families.

The incident at the bus stand caught us off guard, so we must proceed with caution to prevent raising any suspicions.

I leaned back and sighed, feeling the weight of everything. It's hard not to feel guilty, but being with Yn makes me happy in a way I haven't felt in a long time. I know it's wrong to hide this from Yerin, but for now, I just want to enjoy these moments with Yn.

I'm scared of what will happen when we tell the truth. It's going to hurt Yerin, and I don't want her to feel like she wasn't enough. But I also don't want Yn to think she's just a secret or a fling. I need to be careful, for everyone's sake.

Even though it's messy, I believe in what Yn and I have. It feels real, and I want to hold onto it, even if just for a little while longer.

Just as I was lost in my thoughts, the sound of someone punching password at the door brought me back. I quickly sat up, trying to hide my guilt. The door opened, and Yerin walked in, looking tired but with a hint of a smile.

Yerin: Hey

she greeted, putting her bag down.

Yerin: How was your day?

Me: Busy

I answered, forcing a smile.

Me: Yours?

Yerin: Long

she said, sighing as she kicked off her shoes.

Yerin: Just glad to be home

She said with a smile. When she said the word "Home," I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. I was hiding my feelings for Yn, but little did I know that Yerin had her own secrets.

I am not sure but I always feel like she is hiding something from me. I feel like there are a lot of things that are hidden from me. The things that are in front of me isn't enough.
