Chapter 7: Zero
Rocking. Swaying. Such a comforting motion. Aside from plunging a knife into the heart. That's more fun. It's been too long since my last kill, oh how close I was to taking the eye of the black hedgehog. Heh.... His screams would have been delicious... Then the silver one stopped me, like he always did.
'No fun' my friends danced in darkness on the pale grey walls of my room. Unlike the others I didn't get a say in what colour I got for paint. Oh well.
'They're no fun. No fun' They say, giggling childishly. I giggle with them, eyes locked on my shadow friends as they laughed and danced. They always seem to be having fun. I wish I could join them. I wish I was a shadow on the wall too... But they aren't just shadows, they're real. But it seems like I'm the only one who sees them. They say it's because I'm special, no one else is worthy to be their friends.
A loud knock came from the grey door behind me, "Zero? Can we come in?" It was that silver hedgehog...
I growled, for now my friends vanished. They hate visitors. I would too, if I didn't have my knife. They have someone new with them, a female. The sent from her was ashes and trees, her voice full of anger and challenge. A new victim. A slow smile spread across my lips, I hum softly, knowing they would come in anyway.
They did, the silver hedgehog holding the female. She was struggling and demanding they let her go... A dog? No...
I turned to them, "Heeeeeeeeey~!"
"We need you to do something for us."
I tilt my head, normally they don't want me to do anything. "Ohhhh?"
"Yes. This one here won't talk, we need someone to... Encourage her.." The hedgehog sweat-dropped, "Sonic, where's the rope?"
The blue one, Sonic, walked to my closet and pulled out rope. I hiss at him, moving back.
"It's not for you, this time."
Silver, the silver one sighed, "It was never meant to be..."
The wolf in his hands squirmed, "Let me go!!"
Sonic tied the girl's hands behind her with the rope, slowly I stopped growling.
"Now, don't kill her, but hurt her as you wish." Silver let her go. She ran to the door, almost like Sonic... Sonic got in her way, shutting the door. Now blocking the only way out, since I don't have a window.
My ears twitched, 'Kill..... Kill.... New kill'
The wolf growled, "Why are you doing this?!"
"You said you could beat her with your hands tied behind your back. Unless, you admit you can't, you're too weak to." Sonic shrugged.
"I'm not weak!" She head-butted him.
He held his ground, "Prove it, coward."
She shook her head, like she was dizzy. I slowly stood, my friends chanting for me to fight. To win. To kill. A giggle left my lips.
The wolf's ear twitches and she glanced up at me, "What, you think this is funny?"
I didn't respond as I pull out my knife, "Game ooooon...."
She growled, running at me and jumping, her leg coming for my face. I stepped to the side, letting her shoot past me. She landed, turning to face me.
'Kill... Kill... Kill...'
I slashed at her, my blade aimed for her stomach. She moved back, before bringing her head towards my own. Seeing her do this before I was ready, raising my hand and caught her head. Gripping her hair I throw her into the wall, a web of cracks appearing from collision. She let out a cry of pain, the contact must have crushed her arms. The wolf fell to the ground, trying to get up.
Again I grab her by the hair, the ponytail this time, shoving her into the ground, knife raised. She struggled for a while, before smirking and disappearing. I fell forward, my knife scattering away from me.
"Whaaaaaaa?!" My eyes widen as I looked around. How did she... Where did she...? As I turned, a foot collided with my face. A pained Yelp left me as I skid across the floor. Slowly getting up, I look for my knife. Where is it? My friends voices are softer now, whispering angrily. It was on the other side of the room, the wolf standing in front of it.
I growled and ran at her, throwing a fist. She dodged, hitting me in the side with her head. Instantly I bite on her shoulder, digging my teeth in deep. Blood gushed into my mouth, oh what a sweet taste. She screamed, before kneeing me in the gut. I didn't let go, biting down harder.
'Scream.... Scream...' My friends loved the sound more than me, I relished in her whimpers, mentally I begged for more.
A sharp pain suddenly went through my ear, the wolf sinking her teeth through my flesh. I felt blood seep out, and it hurt. In a Yelp I let go of her shoulder, grabbing her jaw. In a single squeeze it broke, the sound filling me with happiness. She screamed louder, stumbling back, against a wall.
Grabbing my knife, I run at her, stabbing the blade into her stomach. After a few rounds of those screams, my aim turned to her neck. In one swift motion I could end her, I can let her bleed out from the neck. My knife was raised and driven downward.
Before I froze, a green glow surrounding me. The wolf fell to her knees, before then falling flat on her face.
"Zero, that's enough. We said hurt, not kill."
I growled, "Kill... Kill..." I giggled sweetly.
"No, that's enough." Silver walked over, "I think she learnt her lesson anyway. If she wakes up, I'm sure she'll talk."
No... No no no no no. She's supposed to DIE. She's supposed to be dead! My friends, they stopped talking and laughing. They're gone.
"Sonic, take her home until she talks." Silver turned to the blue hedgehog, "I don't trust her here with Renny and the others."
"Right." He picked her up and bolted out of the room.
Silver let me go, "Thank you Zero, you were great help."
I stumbled over to the corner, curling up into a small ball.
"For a thanks to your help, you can go hunting tonight, but only one person, okay?"
My ears lift, "Hunting.... Killing?"
He chuckled, before leaving the room
I smile to myself, one victim. My friends will love this.
