So near yet so far

First story, hooray!

[Warning: Angst and real life situations]

[ Bdubs' POV]

[Hippie Commune]

I wondered through the grassy lands of hippie territory. I picked up a few little flowers in the area, enjoying the beauty of its petals and its wonderful scent. I placed one or two in my inventory and tried searching for more.

"Hey Budbs! Watcha doing?" A sudden voice from behind asked.

I turned around and saw a hermit landing infront of him, dirty blond locks were slightly ruffled from his flight but what do you expect? We fly a lot! "Hey, you don't mind if I pick some few flowers Grian?" I asked politely, receiving a soft smile from the small hermit.

"I don't mind, I have a couple of my flowers in my dye farm." He grabbed my hand and brought me to this big barn. Last time if I remember... wasn't it a mess ton of shulker boxes? "So what kind of flowers do you want? Orchid, dandelion, lilies, peon-"

"Any flower will do." I replied. Grian stared at me suspiciously but not in a negative way, more of his curiosity was perking up. He continued grabbing a handful of them and carried them in his arms.

"You seem very calm today, usually when I see you, your rather ummm... active." He said to me, but I just chuckled. "It's a beautiful day for renunion, one that's so close yet so far." I replied poetically. Grian couldn't contain his laughter before putting the flowers in a spare shulker box.

"Your beginning to sound like Joe now, is there any reason why you want this small amount of flowers?" He asked, I finally came to realize that he doesn't know yet. "Your new to hermitcraft correct? Then I guess you don't know what I've been doing for a while now."

I signalled Grian to follow me, he got the memo and carried the shulker. We both quietly strolled through the forest before reaching new hermit land. As we walked passed the structures, the new guy couldn't help but gaze at all the detailed buildings I made, for a builder he looked like a kid in a candy store.

The silence finally broke when we reached a little one block of stone in the middle with a sign on the top and a worn out picture on the bottom. It looked slightly plain until I retrieved the flowers from the shulker and planted them around the block. I digged a little path around it for design and kneeled In front of the block.

The hermit stood there confused but stayed silent. He took a quick glance with an even more confused expression, but the same time shock and guilt were in his eyes. "I-In memory of Ivy? May she r-rest in peac-e?" He whispered, stuttering his words.

"Hehe... " I chuckled quietly. "Ivy was a daughter a lost 2 years ago, kind of the reason why I stopped YouTube for a while.." I continued smiling softly, I patted the dirt next to me, signalling him to sit next to me. And so Grian did. "What happened to her?"

"There were.... Issues, with her health. After birth, I was t-thankful... That me and my family were able to spend time with her, for 18 hours....before she passed ...away..." Grian's eyes widened. He looked at the picture again with a sad look in his eyes. A pic of a man... Bdubs... Holding a newborn...

"I'm sorry Bdubs... I didn't know." He muttered. Whilst I silently stared at the stone brick, Grian suddenly started drawing something from a ripped page.
2 minutes later he finished a little sketch, of a flower. He placed it beside the drawing.

"A Gladiolus flower, signifies remembrance." He smiled sadly at me, patting my shoulder. I choked a sob, warm liquids blurred my vision. "T-Thank you... G-Grian..." I showed a genuine smirk towards him before going back at staring the picture with my vision even more blurred.

Grian finally stood up from his place. He gave another pat on my back, then flew off towards hermit land. Leaving me, at peace, with flowers, sadness, and a picture of my daughter... I retrieved the picture with a slight touch of me fingers, stared at it with a warm but sad smile formed on my face.

"So close....yet so far..." A silent sob broken the silence..

[Tango's POV]

[Hermit Land]

I waited patiently for a few of my contestants outside the boom box minigame, I was so excited to finally let the others play this game again, especially the once who haven't tried. My excitement grew more when I saw one of the contestants arriving. "Grian your here! Hope Mumbo will be joining us today!" I exclaimed.

My excitement died down into concern when I saw the hermit. He looked like he left reality, a tear formed near his cheek, and his gremlin energy wasn't there at place. "G? Is something wrong?"

Grian snapped back from his mind before hastily wiping the tear that strayed from his eyes. "Hehe nothing's wrong, just got a bit sidetracked.." he laughed nervously but didn't fail to show an empathetic smile.

My concerns were still high but Grian didn't seem to looked that troubled, just a bit sad, so I didn't overthink it too much. "Okay.." I warmly replied. "Anyways, I'll go and check if Mumbo arrives." Grian suggested before flying off across the minigames.

I felt a bit worried about his behavior... But I recognized that expression he had in his face. It was guilt. I didn't want to question it any further and went back inside the game....

I know Sam, I write too much angst. XD

But I wanted to dedicate this to Bdubs during his recent video. I was already aware that he lost his daughter a long time ago but it was a heartfelt video. It was brave of him to share what's been bothering him ever since the Kobe Bryant incident.

Rest in peace Ivy, Kobe, and his daughter.

(Wanna say something? Skull, Chumbo?) Seriously we need to fix the nicknames

(Its angst.-sKull. what more can I say? I'm  like iskall and diorite towards angst LOL)

(Greichi Akechi- So my angst is the new diorite, oof.)
