“So—“ I dragged out once everyone else had disappeared. I wasn’t sure what the hell I was supposed to say to her, I didn’t even know whether she wanted to speak to me or not.

“I’m sorry,” Chloe rushed to speak before either myself or Matthew had the opportunity to actually say anything. “I didn’t mean anything I said. I’m not ashamed to call you my brother, you don’t disappoint me and I definitely don’t hate you.”

“Why did you say it then?” I asked, noticing that Matthew was attempting to make a run for it when he thought neither of us were looking. “And don’t you even think of sneaking off Jenkinson. I got things to ask you.”

“Why do people keep calling me by my surname?” Matthew complained. I heard Chloe let out a slight chuckle as she walked over to where Matthew was now standing, she leant against him and he wrapped his arm protectively around her. Even a blind person could see how much he loved her, regardless of what problems they had and unresolved arguments there were.

“Firstly, it’s kind of hot,” I heard Chloe whisper and it made me want to be sick just listening to the two of them. Chloe then turned her attention back to me and spoke, “and, secondly, I was angry. You told me that you thought you saw Matthew cheating on me and you never told me. I hated you for keeping it to yourself and it genuinely felt like you were picking him over me.”

“I never meant to hurt you. You had just lost your son and I knew if I told you about Matthew then it would break you and, honestly, I would never have been able to cope with that.” I sighed as I told her the truth. I had to deal with her breakdown after she first cut our parents out of her life, I had to deal with her when Amanda was ill and she didn’t have a bloody clue what was going on, and I had to deal with her when she discovered that she had lost her son.

“Can I just point out that there was nothing to tell anyone about me since I did nothing wrong,” Matthew muttered angrily.

“That’s not what it looked like from my perspective. It looked like you were enjoying a damn good bl—“

“Yeah. I don’t need to hear about it,” Chloe interrupted me before I could even finish the sentence. I knew she didn’t want to imagine the two of them together, least of all in a way which was highly inappropriate.

“Not being funny though, I never liked Charlotte and I hated that you were with her to be honest. So why the hell would I sleep with someone I hate?” Matthew asked, but I didn’t have an answer for him so I opted for remaining silent instead.

I knew he was right. Hell, I even knew that he hated the girl because he never kept that a secret. He openly told me of his hate for her and how he thought I was a ‘fucking twat’ for asking her to marry me. I guess you wouldn’t sleep with someone you hated, not when you had someone like my sister waiting for you every single day.

“Do you love my sister?” I finally broke the silence which had fallen.

“There aren’t enough words in the world to tell you how much I love her,” Matthew replied.

“And you love your daughter?” I dared to ask. I knew that he did and I was in dangerous territory by even asking the question, but I simply wanted to be sure that this what he wanted and that he was willing to fight for what he had with my sister.

“What kind of question is that? Of course I fucking love Amanda,” Matthew snapped.

“I understand you asked Chloe to marry you? For real this time?” I asked with a slight laugh, it wasn’t my fault that I found it hilarious that he actually wanted to do it properly, but it was also the thought of how they were going to deal with all the questions.

Everyone assumed that had married each other five years ago. In the eyes of the law they were married but, I guess, in their eyes they wanted to do it their way and they wanted their perfect day; not my father’s version of a perfect day.

“Yes…” Matthew said, deliberately dragging out the last letter of the word.

“Then do it. Stop thinking about the past and look to the future,” I said because I didn’t want either of them to lose each other, I didn’t want this to be the end of their relationship because they couldn’t work past the hell they had been through. “I know losing your son was hard, fuck it was hard for me too, but you need to move forward not backwards. You have a beautiful daughter and you have the rest of your lives to try for another baby. Please, don’t throw what the two of you have away.”

When Chloe told me that she had lost her son, it hurt a lot more than I thought it would. Not in the way it hurts the mother, nowhere near as much as it hurts the mother, but it still hurt like hell. She had a bump, she could see her son and she had grown to love him, then she lost him like he wasn’t ever there.

I cried, fuck I cried. I would never get to be an uncle to that child and I wanted nothing more than to break down in tears, but I needed to be strong for Chloe. She blamed herself, said that she was useless as a woman and an even worse wife because she couldn’t even carry a baby to term.

I was hurting for the loss of my nephew but, at the same time, I was hurting for my sister because I didn’t have the first clue on how to deal with her pain. I just wanted to take it all from her, but all I could do was hold her and tell it was going to be OK.

“When did you become a relationship expert?” Chloe managed to joke.

“About the same time I realised I never really loved Charlotte and Erin was the one for me,” I smiled like a total idiot.

        “Which was?” Matthew prodded.

        “Doesn’t matter.”

“Oh, come on brother, don’t be like that,” Matthew laughed. I loved it when he called me his brother because I knew he’d never had someone like me in his life before. Since the day I moved in, he has always treated me like a brother and I loved him like a brother.

“I don’t know. Maybe about six, seven months ago. I kind of realised I couldn’t just settle for having sex with her because I was always going to want more,” I replied. I know what I agreed with Erin and, sure, the sex was amazing and I loved being able to call her whenever I need to get rid of some serious frustrations but I wanted more than that. The sex was never going to be good enough on its own because there was always the chance she was going to find someone else and leave me, I couldn’t bear the thought of her with another man.

“You know, when she dropped Amanda off, she said the exact same thing,” Chloe smiled.

“I love her Clo. Like, when I look at you and Matthew, that’s what I want with Erin. I want what you two have,” I smiled as I thought about the life I could have with Erin.

When I looked at my sister, I wanted that kind of life with Erin. I wanted her to be there for me whenever I got home from work, I wanted to be able to go to bed with her and cuddle, I wanted to tell her that I loved her and kiss her to show her how much I loved her, I wanted to marry her, I even wanted to have children with her.

When I was with Charlotte I didn’t ever feel like this. I asked her to marry me but that more because I was caught up in the moment of the entire thing. I wanted the same thing my sister had and Charlotte was willing to give it to me, so I guess I just took it and never really thought twice about the entire thing.

“Have you told her that?” Matthew asked.

“Well, I’ve told her that I love her, but I’ve not told her anything else besides that,” I shrugged, I didn’t think it was that big a deal.

“Then do it. A girl loves to hear how a guy is really feeling about them. They love to know that there is that one person who is constantly thinking about them, that one person who is never going to leave them, that one person who loves them and everything about them. It’s what keeps a girl going sometimes,” Chloe said with a smile as she wrapped her arm around Matthew and started walking in the direction of the living room. I followed after them in a moment of silence, taking the time to think about what she had just said before I spoke again.

“Does Matthew do that? I mean, tell you all those things?”

“All the time,” Chloe smiled back at me and then walked into the room. I quickly followed after her, seeing that she had taken the empty seat beside Charlotte while Matthew settled for sitting opposite her in the spare chair next to Marcus.

The last empty chair was at the head of the table with Braydon one side and Erin the other. I watched as everyone else began taking the food and putting it on their plates, I couldn’t help but smile at how strangely perfect the moment was.

Chloe and Matthew looked like they were ready to fight the world and there was nothing which would stop the two of them now. Marcus was actually smiling, something which I had never seen in the time I had known him. Braydon and Charlotte were in quiet conversation with each other and they both seemed content with life, neither of them actually looked like they were out for trouble.

And I, I had Erin and I wasn’t going to let anything change that. She made me feel things I never thought were possible and I loved her. I loved her in the way my sister loved her husband and, since the day they married each other, that was really the only kind of love I wanted.

“So, Charlotte—“ Matthew spoke, her name slipping off his tongue with a whole lot of coldness.

“What?” Charlotte snapped and I chuckled, noting that she hadn’t changed all that much in the time since I last saw her.

“How do you know Braydon?” Matthew replied calmly, though I am sure that had something to do with the fact Chloe was rubbing her foot up and down his leg with a suggestive smirk on her face. Anyone else and I would have congratulated them but, just the fact it was my sister, it was enough to make me throw everything I had eaten that day back up.

“He’s my cousin,” Charlotte said before putting another piece of chicken into her mouth.

“Unfortunately,” Braydon muttered and he really didn’t look impressed by the fact he was related to her. In the space of a couple of minutes their entire mood had changed and I was amazed how something so perfect could be something so tragic in the space of a couple of seconds.

“So, Erin. How did you and Jason meet?” Charlotte asked, deciding that she was going to ignore the comment from Braydon and I was glad that she did. I couldn’t be doing with another argument, not when things were going so well.

“It was in a pub. We were both drowning our sorrows of failed relationships and we sort of ended up back at my place that night,” Erin laughed nervously. I placed my hand on her leg under the table and gave it a reassuring squeeze, causing her to turn her attention in my direction as she flashed an awkward smile.

“How long have you been together then?” Charlotte replied and I was surprised that she was genuinely interested in this conversation.

When you are in a relationship with someone for a year and a half, you tend to pick up on everything they do. From knowing when they are lying to being able to tell whether or not they are interested in something. It’s a really useful tool to master where your partner is concerned.

“Sexually or in a general relationship?” Erin chuckled though that was quickly replaced by a slight gasp as I moved my hand further up her leg, moving the hem of her dress further up with each movement my hand made. She tried to push me away but, the more she did that, the tighter my grip got and I sat there with a satisfied smirk on my face.

        “Well—“

“Please. I don’t need to hear about the sexual exploits of my brother,” Chloe cringed.

“It’s not like you’ve never heard, or seen, me before,” I smirked.

I loved reminding her of the times she had caught me in compromising positions with women. It was hilarious watching her reaction as she tried to force the images from her brain again.

“Wait? Hasn’t she caught us before?” Erin asked. I knew she was doing it on purpose just to add to Chloe’s discomfort and, while Chloe was doing her best to ignore what was being said, the rest of us were finding it hard to contain our laughter.

“Pretty sure she has. I believe she caught us on the sofa,” I chuckled.

“A sofa which I quickly removed from the house and set fire to,” Chloe muttered and she wasn’t joking either. I came home from work to find it gone and, when I asked her where it was, she simply pointed to the flames in the garden.

She told she wasn’t able to sit on it again knowing I had, and I quote, ‘done the dirty with some girl’. I had never mentioned the times I heard Chloe and Matthew going at it with each other at three in the morning; they were so god damn loud and they didn’t even know it.

“You are just as bad as your brother. I remember the time I got home and you were sucking Matthew off in the ki—“

“Anyway,” Chloe interrupted Charlotte before she could even finish that sentence. It was cruel, but I loved seeing my sister in such discomfort, especially about a topic which she used to be so open about. “I do believe we were talking about Jason and Erin, not mine and Matthew’s sex life.”

“What sex life?” Matthew muttered and I was pretty sure no one was supposed to hear that but he really needed to work on his skills when it came to talking to himself.

“Have you two not slept together?” Marcus opened his mouth and it was that question which turned Chloe’s face an even brighter shade of red than a fire engine. I couldn’t help but notice that her foot was still moving dangerously close to Matthew’s crotch and, sure I was teasing Erin, but my sister couldn’t see me doing that like I could see her.

“How have you two gone without sex? Sophia and I have sex at least three times a week,” Braydon spoke up like it was the most casual thing in the world.

“Jason and I do it every single night, three times if I’m lucky,” Erin smirked. I could go for longer but she had a hard time keeping up with me so the limit was set at three times a night, if I could be bothered and she was in the mood.

My fingers were now dangerously close to her underwear and I could hear her breathing hitch slightly as I lightly brushed my fingers across her thigh, never going near her core. I wanted to drive her crazy but not tip her over the edge, at least not while we were in the company of people I had knew and loved.

“I’m not even in a relationship and I get a good fuck every now and again,” Marcus ever the gentleman that he was putting it exactly how it was.

“Wonderful,” Chloe and Matthew both muttered distastefully at the same time.

“So, when was the last time you two fuc—“

“Made love, Marcus, made love. Just because you fuck, doesn’t mean everyone else in the world does it too,” Chloe stated dryly and I could tell that she was getting rapidly pissed off with the direction this had now taken. Just because we were all so open about the number of times we had slept with people and how often it happened, that didn’t mean that she wanted to be as well.

“To answer your question Charl, Erin and I have been together for just over two weeks now,” I said, realising that it was time to end that conversation before it got too much for Chloe and Matthew.

They had already told us they weren’t sleeping in the same bed anymore, so I guess the sex was also a no go where their relationship was concerned. I also didn’t need to hear about what my sister got up to in the bedroom either.

Watching her turn her husband on under the table was bad enough in itself, although that seemed to have stopped around the time Marcus opened his mouth and spoke. He was always the one you could rely on to kill the mood, bless him.

“It was going well until he met my parents half naked,” Erin laughed and, much to my amusement, she had to take a sharp intake of breath as my finger moved over the front of her underwear at an agonisingly slow pace. I loved how innocent everyone thought her to be but, behind closed doors, she was an animal and I got to experience that.

“I bet your father wasn’t impressed,” Braydon said as he finished his last mouthful of food.

“Oh, no, he managed to sweet talk my father by pretending that he knew all there was to know about motor sports and golf. It was my mother who despised him and insisted I could do so much better than Jason,” Erin managed to say, her hands gripping the edge of the table as she tried to calm herself down and stop herself from giving away what was going on under the table.

“Golf he actually knows about but motor sports? How the fuck did you pull that off?” Matthew laughed because he knew what I was like.

I did actually have a genuine interest in golf and had wanted to play for a while now, but I had never found a club which I could find myself fitting in with. Motor sports, that was something entirely different, I hated motor sports so I have no idea how the hell I managed to pull it off.

“Don’t ask bro. I still don’t know how I managed it myself,” I said as I found my attention moving to Chloe again.

The smile which was there at the start of dinner was now gone and she was looking intently at her phone, like she was waiting for something or someone to reply to her.

“Clo?” I said, but she didn’t look up. I repeated her name a couple more times, but she only looked at me when Charlotte tapped her and told her I was talking to her.

        “Huh? What?” she finally said.

“Are you OK?” I asked and I was worried about her, but she went back to looking at her phone and a couple of seconds later a slight smile appeared back on her face.

“Er, this has been lovely, but it’s time for you all to leave now,” Chloe suddenly said as she ushered us all from the table, barely giving Erin a couple of seconds to readjust herself.

I had successfully driven her to point of needing release and, the moment we got home, I was going to take her up to our bedroom to show her just how much I loved her.

“But I’m still eating,” Marcus complained.

“Take the plate with you for all I care. Make sure you bring it back tomorrow though,” Chloe shrugged as she continued to push us all until we were out of the house. Matthew was looking at her with confusion as he wondered what the hell was going on.

“What is going on?” Marcus asked while shoving some more food into his mouth.

“Well, my in-laws are keeping my daughter for the night and I am going to make the most of this freedom,” Chloe smirked and I knew what she was talking about, which I took as our cue to leave.

“I think we should get home and we should get home now,” Erin whispered in my ear and I could sense the frustration in her tone as I moved my hand from her waist so that it was sitting on her arse as we walked towards our car.

“But you guys told me I could stay here tonight?” Marcus complained again.

“Look, I am going to have hot and passionate sex with my husband. It’s been over six months since we last fucked and I am suffering from some serious sexual frustration,” Chloe replied smugly as Matthew appeared behind her and began kissing her neck, which was definitely my cue to leave because I didn’t need images of my sister and Matthew when I was going home to my relieve my own sexual tensions with the woman that I happened to love.

“—and it’s going to be fucking amazing,” were the last words I heard come from my sister’s mouth before I got into the car and slammed the door shut.

“You know, if we weren’t sitting right outside your sister’s house I would happily fuck you right now,” Erin’s voice sent pleasant chills down my spine and I could feel myself growing hard as the words flew right out of her mouth. Her hand, which she had placed in my knee, was now moving quickly up my leg and it was growing impossible for me to keep my urges under control.

“Stop,” my voice came out as a hiss. I was just about to concentrate for long enough to move the car out of the drive and begin the journey home though, if Erin continued like this, we wouldn’t be making it home and I would be pulling over to satisfy our needs.

“This is for driving me crazy at dinner,” she whispered seductively in my ear, her hands making quick work of my zipper as her hands moved to the inside of my trousers with ease. The feel of her hand moving slowly towards my cock was enough for me to close my eyes momentarily as I released a low moan which, given our current situation, only encouraged her to continue teasing me to the point it actually hurt.

“I told you to stop,” I groaned but she carried on ignoring me with a smirk on her face and it was becoming increasingly more difficult to concentrate on the road ahead, especially when all I wanted to do was throw my head back and enjoy the pleasure she was giving me.

“I never listen though,” she smiled innocently.

“Argh. Fuck,” I shouted as I found a side road and pulled over, bringing the car to an abrupt stop as I grabbed both her hands and pulled her towards me, my lips immediately finding hers.

“Fuck me Jason. Please,” Erin said breathlessly and that was all it took for me to completely loss control.
