Chapter 4. 'The feelings in our heart'
Thorin hugged you tightly as you said goodbye. You were standing outside the hotel.
Dwalin held his keys in one hand and their bag's in his other. Neither of them smiled as they said their goodbyes. Your smile was missing too.
It took a long time before Thorin could let you go. He didn't know when he would see you again. Let alone hold you and being able to kiss you again.
If there would ever be a second time.
'Her cab is here' you heard Dwalin say.
Thorin pulled back slowly. He let his fingers graze your soft hair one more time.
You had insisted on taking a cab home, even though they had offered to take you there. You had declined because you were confused. So much had happened in just one single night.
It was clear on their faces that this was not what they wanted to happen. When you saw that, it crossed your mind that they may had wanted to go for another round. That could be the only reason why they didn't want to let you go.
They had already said their goodbyes when you were still in your hotelroom.
Thorin had gone downstairs to check out when Dwalin had hugged you tightly. A single tear had escaped his eye though he said it was just sweat.
Dwalin held the door to the cab open for you so that you could get in.
You waved them goodbye as you were driven away from them. A sudden sting in your heart surprised you when you realised you would never see them again. Was this how Katie felt everytime she left a one-night-stand behind?
Probably not.
The tears started to roll down your cheeks. You hid your head behind your hands. Why did it hurt so much when this was only a one time thing?
It had all been so magical and special when they had made love you to in that hotel room. They were nothing like the men in Katie's stories. They were true gentlemen.
Your shoulders were still shaking when you got home.
Dwalin had already paid the cabby upfront so you didn't have to worry about that. He bid you a goodday and left when you closed the door of his cab.
You stood outside for a while.
It was a cold morning in autumn. The leaves had started to fall. Nature didn't really reflect how you felt inside.
The leafs still had something magical about them. A beauty that you could see even from afar.
Right now you just felt hollow.
Your heart was screaming for you to get back to them. Your feet were more then willing to take you there. But your head told you that you needed to take some time for yourself to figure it all out.
Hesitantly, you walked towards your door and went inside. It was time for a bowl of ice cream.

'Do you want to talk about it?' Thorin offered.
Dwalin had been roaming around their house all day long. He was cleaning stuff that was spotless. Washing all their clothes when it really wasn't neccessary. And probably drinking more coffee then he should.
Thorin was leaning against the table, a cop of tea in his hand. He watched his boyfriend fighting with a pillow to get the so called 'dust' out of it.
It was always the pillows that received a beating when he didn't know how to express his feelings.
Dwalin didn't stop his cleaning spree. 'Talk about what?' he growled.
'About her' Thorin said. He wasn't able to say your name. It would only make him emotional too. The pillows were already suffering enough.
It was enough to cause Dwalin to stop beating the pillows. He still didn't face him though. 'What about her?' he asked. Thorin could tell that he was emotional too.
Thorin chuckled in a sarcastic tone. 'Really? Yesterday, we set out to find our third. We find a beautiful, smart, young woman who is only five years younger then me. She is absolutely perfect and then, for whatever reason, she closes off from us and decides to leave.'
That was the short version.
Dwalin turned around, his eyes watery. He opened his mouth to say something but decided not to. Instead, he threw the pillow away from him and went upstairs.
Thorin put his mug down, sitting himself down on a chair.
He wanted to be there for his boyfriend but he clearly didn't want that right now. It was still too fresh.
All of it was crazy if you really thought about it. They had only met you yesterday and they were smitten with you, like a couple of teens, within seconds. Neither of them had expected that to happen.
Thorin leaned his head on his hand, staring outside as the leafs fell down from their tree.
He could only think about you. How confused you must feel right now. Maybe it had all taken you by surprise.
After all, you were a virgin before you met them. You clearly thought that this was only a one-night-stand. And there they went to tell you they believed you were theirs. He laughed to himself.
How foolish they had been.
They had probably scared you by saying that. It wasn't really their fault.
This meeting was somewhat similiar to the way Thorin and Dwalin met. It had also been at a bar but they didn't jump into bed right away.
However, Dwalin had immediately told Thorin that he wanted something long-term with him. If he was interested.
Thorin had also been a little taken aback by this in-your-face reproach. But it had made him feel safe to know from the start what this stranger wanted from him.
Soon, they had begun dating and all had worked out well. They were inseperable now.
He heard his boyfriend's footsteps coming down the stairs.
Dwalin wrapped his arms around Thorin and laid his head down on his shoulder. Thorin gently laid his hand on Dwalin's arm.
'I just want her back' Dwalin said.
'Me too' Thorin answered.
