Chapter 11. 'I was right'
He didn't want to get up just yet. And really, there was no need to. You were still laying in his arms so everything was fine. Just like Dwalin said things would be.
Why had he been panicking about it last night? It would have saved him a headache if he hadn't.
Thorin moved himself closer to the warm body that was pressed against his.
"Stop your wiggling, I am not awake yet" Dwalin murmured.
Thorin smirked. This was their usual conversation in the morning. If Dwalin would get it his way, they would never leave their bed.
He let his hands wander over his boyfriend's chest. Dwalin was hairy with a lot of muscle. Thorin loved it.
"I know I am a pretty sight but I am not fully awake yet" Dwalin said, now more awake.
"Are you complaining?" Thorin asked, trying to sound hurt.
Dwalin smiled, pulling him closer and kissing him on the cheek. 'You know I am not complaining. You just wake me up too early.'
Something dawned on Thorin. 'Where is (y/n)?' he asked.
You couldn't lay in between them like he first thought you still were. They would have crushed you by now.
"She probably lays behind us. Our lass needed to go the bathroom during the night so I cuddled up to you. Isn't that right lass?"
There was no reply. Thorin was getting anxcious.
"Don't worry, she is probably still sleeping" Dwalin said when he noticed Thorin's expression.
It didn't calm him down. Thorin pushed himself up on one arm so he could look over Dwalin.
To find that the other side of the bed was empty.
You were not there.
Thorin hurried out of bed to run downstairs. Where could you be? He had to search for you. "(Y/N)!" he yelled.
Dwalin turned around in bed and saw the empty space. He started to get worried too. But you could still be downstairs, making breakfast. Or you were in their study to look at the books. Still, he jumped out of bed to search for you too.
They searched for you in every room but couldn't find you.
"Where is she?" Thorin shouted. He was panicked. What if you hadn't left willingly? Maybe that lizard had abducted you. If he would dare to touch you...
"Thorin?"
Thorin spun around. Dwalin was standing in the doorway. Holding your phone. He rushed forward to look at it.
The messages between Katie and you were still on display on the screen. Thorin could swear his heart stopped beating at that very moment.
"She thinks-" he started but couldn't finish his sentence. He didn't want to say it out loud.
Dwalin nodded. "The lass thinks we are the guys who want to hurt her. That is why she didn't want to sleep in our clothes and went to bed early." He sat down on the couch, burying his head in his hands.
Thorin didn't waste any time. He logged into Facebook and searched for your name. Katie was in your friendlist. And there, he had her last name. He grabbed his phone and called to his company.
"Yes, I need you to track down the location of another phone. It belongs to Katie McGrew. ... Thank you."
"We can't do that Thorin. You said so yourself. (Y/N) left because of all at. I don't want to lose her completely" Dwalin said after Thorin hang up the phone.
"Neither do I. I will send some guys her way to protect her. She doesn't have to know they are there. We need to keep her safe."
Dwalin nodded. "Agreed."

"(Y/N)? Is it alright if I go to the store for a minute or two? We need some more bread."
You hid your head beneath your pillow. "Mhmmm" you moaned in reply.
"I'll be right back" Katie said.
It didn't really sink in with you. The past few days had asked a lot of you. You were determined to stay in bed for the next couple of days.
For some reason, you didn't have a job anymore.
Thorin and Dwalin must have been psychopaths. They had been trying to separate you from your normal circle of friends and family. That's what they had been doing.
Katie had told you so last night. Your mind was messed up right now. To have a friend like her by your side was something you were thankful for right now.
Hesitantly, you got up from your bed. You stretched and yawned.
You got up to explore Katie's home. Your stomache felt rather empty. It was time to feed the growling beast.
The floor was stone cold as you walked over it to get to the kitchen.
Katie lived in a small home near the library. The streets around her house were busy, filled with traffic, day and night. This wasn't a house you could stay for long. Too busy for your liking.
You prefered the quietness of a nearby forest or park. Like the home of Thorin and Dwalin...
Don't think about them. You must forget about them. They were up to no good.
You found the bread, a plate and a knife so you could get started on preparing your breakfast.
Quietly you sat at the table to eat. Katie didn't have a radio so you couldn't listen to music. The noises of traffic were the only sounds to keep you company.
*Crash*
You jumped up from your chair. That sound came from outside.
"What was that?" you asked. You were frozen in place. What if they had found you?
But how could they? You didn't bring your phone with you so they couldn't locate you. They had probably found your phone but there was nothing they could do wi- Katie.
They could still find out everything about Katie. And her phone-
You grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer. It wasn't the time to act like a coward. You counted to ten before slowly tip toeing to the front door.
It sounded like the sound had come from near the front door. Chills ran down your spine when you remembered what happened the last time you had opened a door. You could still feel the knife against your throat.
You shook the feeling off. This time, you had a knife too. You would show them that you could defend yourself.
You laid your hand on the doorknob. You tried to open it but it was locked.
You frowned.
Why would Katie lock her door? To your knowledge, she never did when she left.
She probably tried to keep you safe. Maybe she also remembered that they could trace her phone as well.
That was probably it. You shrugged it off.
You moved to the window to look outside. There was nothing there. Just traffic racing by, people walking towards the centrum of the town and two man who were walking their dog.
Nothing that could have made the sound on purpose. It could have been a bird or the newspaper that was thrown against the door. You sighed in relief.
It was normal you were feeling tense. The last few days had been pretty overwhelming. Nothing to worry about.
You cleaned up your plate and went back upstairs to take a bath. Maybe that would relax you.
The bath filled itself quickly with warm water. The smell of lavender filled your nostrils. You couldn't wait to clean yourself.
You lowered yourself in the deliciously hot water with soap. How you loved bubbles. Finally you could relax again.
The door opened downstairs. You heard hurried footsteps coming up the stairs.
"(Y/N)!" Katie yelled.
"Katie?" you asked confused.
She stormed into the bathroom. You were barely able to cover yourself up in time. "Katie, what is wr-"
"(Y/N), your house... it burned down."
