5- A Home Truth.

"Babe, do you want me to walk you home?" Catherine smiled sympathetically, noticing her girlfriend's discomfort.

"Yeah, please Cath, " Jane rose her head so her eyes met with Cath's.

"Come on then, " Her voice remained soft and quiet as she offered out her hand, gently leading Jane away from the group.

As they turned into Jane's road, Jane stopped and took both of Catherine's hands, a while away from the house.

"Cath, wait a minute, "

"Yeah, what's wrong, baby?" She whispered, keeping a firm grip on Jane's palms.

"I haven't told my parents about us, walk with me still, but can I kiss you goodbye here?" She managed a small smile.

"Course, " An understanding Catherine leant in close and planted a kiss softly on Jane's lips.

"Love you, " She smiled as she began walking.

"Love you too, "

Nearing the door, Jane clenched her fist, and knocked, waiting for someone to answer. Neither of her parents trusted her with a key, even at 15.

"Hey Mum, " Jane plastered a fake smile on her face and took a step inside.

"Bye Jane! Love yo-" Catherine immediately swallowed her words. She knew she'd messed up. And Jane was going to pay the price.

"What? Did she just say..." Jane's mum asked, her eyes sending a cold stare. Fear wrapped around Jane's stomach, forcing a small squeak from the teen's mouth accompanied with a nod.

Catherine stood behind a car. The Seymours' front door was wide open so Cath could only helplessly watch the mess she'd caused without making things worse.

"You're gay?" She scoffed, as if it were a sin.

"No. I'm bi..." Jane whispered, looking down.

"I assumed you're ashamed?" Her mother placed her hands on her hips, her eyes opening wider with every word.

The usually timid Jane, never stood up for herself, and just let other's opinions devour her alive but that day, she gives a response that shocks everyone.
