3 - The Spot Is Where We All Meet

Anna had been sat at the spot, on the field for the last hour - the length period four should have been - on her phone. The school were very strict with a no-phones policy, but Anna couldn't care less. At all.

She waited, scrolling through social media, for the rest of the circle to arrive. The nickname 'The Circle' came about because nothing about any of them was shared outside the group. They only thing the rest of the student body knew about the group was that Jane and Catherine were going out. The group were very good at keeping secrets and used that to their advantage.

Anna checked the time. 15:47. Normally, the other girls would be there by now. What if-

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of laughter penetrating the air around her, followed by a distinctive retort, easily identifiable as Cathy's.

"Anne! You can not say that!"

"I can and I did, so whatcha' gonna do about it, Parr?" Anne laughed, moving her head in a snake-like motion in front of Cathy with her arms out to the side.

"Anna!" Cathy snatched the opportunity to change the subject with both hands. Anna waved as the rest of the girls headed over to meet her.

"So, how were your lessons..." Anna smirked, her arms folded across her chest. It wasn't really a question, it was more to show off she didn't have a lesson, or she had the guts to not turn up to it at least.

"Anne, Cath and I had history, and it wasn't even that bad!" Jane giggled, removing her phone from out of her light grey handbag she'd placed in front of her.

"It was for me! I had to watch you two constantly flirting! The entire lesson!" Anne exclaimed before mocking Jane, leaning into Catherine and twirling her hair the way Jane does. "Ooh Catherine, what year did he get married for the second time?"

Jane playfully rolled her eyes.

"I do not do that!"

"You do, you so do..." Anne sniggered, "And I know you weren't even asking something you actually needed the answer to, because I copied off you the entire lesson!"

"Anne! I don't do that, " Jane stated emphatically. "And why did you copy me?" Her voice was gentle and didn't contain even a hint of annoyance.

"You had answers, I needed some, " Anne answered honestly. "Oh, don't worry, I'm pretty sure she knows I copy everyone else, some of the work in my book is yours, all 'my' homework is either Courtney S's or Vicki's and the rest of the classwork is Henry's.

As soon as Anne mentioned his name, Jane's hand subconsciously rose and rested on her stomach; where his baby was. "Oh, um, sorry Jane, " Anne whispered as Jane melted into Catherine, placing her head on Cath's shoulder.

"Out of interest, Jane, have you told him yet?" Cathy asked, putting her hand on Jane's knee for comfort.

All she could respond with was a simple shake of the head.
