"Applejack.. she's smiling.."

That strange feeling came back as soon I saw Applejack smiling in joy. I stared back at her but she immediately looked away as soon our eyes met. I smiled back and decided to tease her about tossing the ball to me but Rarity and Sunset blocked my way to give me more compliments before I could take my first step.

Fs: "Okay what the heck just happened?!" Flash asked in shock, standing up from bench before running towards us.

Aj: "She jumped high, its not a big deal ya know?" Aj replied but her smile was gone.. I wonder why?

Pp:" It is a big deal Applejuice-"

Aj:" Its Applejack,"

Pp:" Potato tomato, its still a big deal cause she jumped so high even though her height looks like a 7 year old!" Pinkie yelled in excitement which affected me but I just laughed it off.

Rd:" Hehe, Gee.. thanks Pinkie.." I replied, placing my hand on the back of my neck.

R:" Wow Rainbow I dint know you can jump that high! I guess we underestimated you a while ago, sorry darling." Rarity nervously told me before turning her attention to Applejack beside her.

Ss: "Yeah not bad.. but is anyone gonna talk about that Rainbow literally connected and slammed the ball with her eyes close in mid-air?!"

Aj: "I'm not into fashion Rar- WAIT, WHAT?!" The cowgirl gasped in shock when she heard the captain's question.

Ts: "Wait she did?! Dang she's breaking all known laws of gravity.."

Pp: "English please, Twilight."

Ts:" HOW CAN SHE JUMP SO HIGH?!"

Ss: "The egghead is now confused." Sunset replied, making the others laugh at Twilight.

R: "Seriously darling, how do you jump so high?" Rarity asked confused.

Rd: " Because people don't have wings, we look for ways to fly." I confidently answered with a grin.

Rarity and Pinkie pie was completely amazed but Sunset smacked the back of my head, making me gasp in shock.

Ss:" Stop Acting cool goddamnit!" she teasingly yelled while messing around with my hair.

Rd:" Eh?! Im sorry captain!" I nervously laughed back while my team joined in.

While me and the upperclassmen have fun, we heard someone cough on purpose at the back, so we all turned around to see Applejack with her arms crossed.

Aj:" Can we go back to the game now?" She asked while giving us her usual deadly stare which freaked us all except for the captain.

Sunset then chuckled softly before walking up to Applejack and placing her hand on the cowgirl's shoulder, making Aj look back in confusion. At first we thought that the captain will scold her again but she unexpectedly laughed.

Aj: "Uh.. Captain?" Aj stuttered in nervousness as she watch Sunset laugh mysteriously.

Ss: "You were great too Applejack, it was a perfect toss." Sunset replied with a grin, making Aj blush from the compliment.

Aj: "Wha- of course I know that! Ehem.. Thanks Sunset." She nervously said while looking away to avoid us from looking at her blushing face.

Ts: "Anyways, you and Applejack make a good team."

Pp: "Yeah im jealous." Pinkie added with a laugh.

Rd:" Thanks guys, with my skill I know I'll be the next Ace!" I replied with confidence.

" I'm not giving up my title so easily, kid."

I looked at my right and saw Sunset, her arms was crossed and she has this amused look across her face which made me confused. I then glanced at my other friends but they avoid making eye contact with me for some reason. But when I finally realized it, my eyes widened as I immediately looked back at the captain.

Rd": Wait.. you're the well-known Ace all over Equestria?!" I asked in shock.

She sighed and moved her head 'no' to answer my question.

Ss:" I was the former well-known Ace.. until my friend stole the title from me when they beaten us in Nationals last year. But I'm just glad that I am CHS'S official Ace." Sunset explained with a smile.

Rd:" YOU WERE THE FORMER ACE?!" I yelled again, making Sunset jump in shock.

Ss: " Geez dint you hear me a while ago?"

Rd: 'What was it like to be the Ace?! How did you got the title?! WHO TOOK THE TITLE FROM YOU?!" I asked with joy.

Ss: "I just did my best at spiking I guess." Sunset nervously replied with a giggle.

Rd: "That's so awesome! no wonder you can jump that high when you served the ball a while ago! its so cool!"

Sunset's cheeks reddened as she laughed nervously while looking away to hide her blushing face.

Ss: "Geez stop complimenting me! Im a 3rd year and all so I dont deserve this kind of fame." The captain nervously laughed, making the others charge at her.

Pp: "Its not fair! I want to get complements too!."

Ss: "ACK! Get away from me!" Sunset immediately yelled as soon she saw the team running towards her.

The captain then ran towards Flash but Pinkie pie happily jumped at her which made her tumble at the floor. I thought they were fighting at the time but.. They look like they're having fun, is this normal?

Me and Aj just watched Sunset getting beaten up from the distance. But when I noticed that its only me and Applejack, I quickly took the chance to talk to her.

Rd: "Hey.."

Aj: 'Hey?"

As our eyes met at that very moment, I took a deep breath before asking her the question that bothered me a while ago.

Rd: "Why did you toss the ball to me a while ago? I thought you only toss the ball to players who have potential on winning?"

Aj: "Look.. I had no choice okay? You still have no potential at winning." She answered with a sigh but instead of being serious, I decided to tease her.

Rd: "Oh come on! Admit it, you only threw the ball to me because you like me." I said, grinning at the end.

The cowgirl's cheeks unexpectedly redden for some reason but she immediately covered her face with her hat.

Aj: "Shut up Rainbow! I dont like you." She growled back as her voice was filled with embarrassment.

Rd: "Lies~" I continued to tease her but I kept feeling this strange heavy feeling on my chest.

I like watching her get all shy and touchy but why isnt she yelling at me? She would usually beat me up at a time like this, but she kept on covering her face.

Suddenly, we heard the captain yelling at the distance so my moment with Applejack was interrupted. We looked back and saw Sunset running to her side of the court with her team.

Ss: "Okay! Like what Applejack said, we need to continue this match before Twilight and the others beat me up again."

We all agreed so we went back to our position and ready our stance, Applejack was about to serve so she ran at the back after she took the ball from Flash.

She then took a deep breath before throwing the ball upwards and slamming it to the other team. Twilight received the ball, passing it Sunset to do her amazing spike again.

But as soon Sunset spiked the ball with force, it bounced back to their base because Rarity jumped at the time and blocked the ball with her left hand.

Pinkie pie immediately dived in to save the ball before it hits the ground.

Pp: "Its up! Cover!"

Ss: "Chance ball!" Sunset yelled before  receiving the ball and passing it to Twilight.

Twilight immediately jumped, matching the ball's air time and tossing the ball back to Sunset for her to spike back.

When CHS's ace, aka Sunset, finally spiked the ball with perfect timing, Rarity tried to block it again but the captain unexpectedly did a cross shot which went directly at Applejack.

Aj: "Take it Rainbow!" She yelled while stepping out of the way so I can receive the ball for her.

I nodded in agreement so I immediately ran to her position and did a receiving position but I dint match the ball's speed in time so it went directly in my shoulder which made me gasp in pain.

Rd: "ACK! Its up Applejack!" I yelled back before running to Aj's side.

As soon the ball went up in the air, Applejack jumped and tossed the ball backward. But before she could even touch the ball, I quickly jumped beside her.

When she finally tossed the ball, I closed my eyes and hoping that I will feel the ball's impact in my palm. But when I felt it, I opened my eyes and saw the view from up the net.

I cant help but smile irresistibly before closing my eyes again and slamming the ball into the other side.

"T H U M P ! "

I fell back to ground, I immediately looked at the other team, they were again shocked and speechless. I then looked at Applejack beside me, she was smiling irresistibly again.

" YEAHH!" Me and Aj yelled in joy at the same time. I happily raised my hand to offer her a high five but she ignored it, as usual.

Fs: "Okay who is this kid?!" Flash yelled in shock at the bench.

Ts: "That was a quick.. You two did a quick attack!" Twilight yelled amazed.

Rd: "What? Whats a quick?" I asked confused while wiping away the sweat in my forehead.

Pp: "The thing you just did now with Applejack!"

Aj: "What..?"

Ss: "You two seriously dont know the thing you just did a while ago?!"

"No.." Me and Applejack replied.

Twilight did a face palm before walking towards the net to talk to us.

Ts: "A quick attack is a precise and fast set that occurs when the setter toss the ball to a spiker thats about 2 inches away from her. with the hitter either fastly approaching or already in mid-air when the set is executed. This type of set requires great accuracy and timing between the setter and the hitter."

Aj: "English please." Applejack said in a teasing tone.

Ts: "I JUST TOLD YOU!"

Ss: "Woah relax Twi, lets go back to game. Score their point flash!" Sunset lastly said before returning back to her position.

As the match finally finished, we lost with the score of 13-25. I groaned in exhaustion before running to the bench to drink some water same with Applejack.

Ss: "Great game girls, Rainbow, Applejack come over here!" Sunset yelled, getting our attention so we approached her.

She then smiled as she took something from her bag, our eyes widened when I saw a club form in her hand.

Ss: "You two, sign your names here cause were welcoming you today as a official member of the wonderbolts' volleyball club!"

Rd: "YEAHH!" I happily yelled as I took the club form from Sunset and ran to the bench to grab a pen in my bag.

Applejack on the other hand just smiled before taking her club form and walking to her bag which was beside mine.

Rd: "THIS IS AWESOME!" I squealed in joy while writing my name on the form.

But when I felt someone tap my shoulder, I turned around and saw Applejack handing out her hand which made me confused but happy at the same time.

Rd: "What? You want a hand shake or something?" I asked with a grin.

Aj: 'Heck no.. I just need to borrow your pen. " she growled back.

I laughed as I handed her my pen. suddenly, we heard the door open, hitting the wall with force which made me loud noise which shocked us all.

I looked back and saw a another blue haired guy with a light blue streak. The other upperclassmen quickly greeted him but the boy was sweating and panicking as heck.

Ts: "Hi big brother! What's up?" Twilight greeted.

Ss: 'Hey Shining armor, why are you panting?"

Sa: "We got a.. Practice match against Saint's academy today!"

Wait.. Saint's academy? My old school?!

That means..
