NEVADA

I smile, yawning as I lace up my red sneakers, even out my shirt and dust off my jeans. What a long school day and I'm glad I only have one class left of the year for me! Early graduation is THE BEST.
I smile a bit walking into Mr. Tucker's History class and sitting in my seat next to Sam, a decent friend of mine. Dropping the bag on the floor, I lean back in my seat and push my glasses up my nose. I jump when a voice cuts into my thoughts.
"Hey, Scarlett." I look over at him, smiling briefly.
"You ready?" He smiles and nods, his brown eyes lighting up before he has to go do his presentation.
The bell rings and the teacher calls him up. Sam pours the contents of his backpack out on the table. "Sorry I've got a lot of stuff." Sam mutters before starting."For my family genealogy report I decided to do it on my great-great grandfather Captain Archibald Witwicky who was one of the first people to explore the Arctic Shelf, which is a big deal." Sam starts and for once I pay attention to what someone is saying in class. Sam holds up what looks like an old map which gets my interest. The class idiot and man-whore Trent spits a spitball at Sam making the class laugh and Mr. Tucker holds up his STOP sign. I sneakily take out the wrapper of some gum I recently chewed and placed it by Tucker's hand. Something my sister and I are notorious for are pranks. I smirk then resume focus. Sam pulls out a pair of spectacles "These are really cool these are my grandfather's glasses they've seen many things. I haven't gotten them appraised yet."

Mr. Tucker stands up talking to Sam "Are you going to sell me his liver this is the 11th grade, not share and sell."

I snort softly as Sam blushes before recovering himself. "Unfortunately he became blind and was sent to a psycho ward babbling about some ice-man he discovered."
The bell goes off and I sigh and wait for everyone to leave before grabbing my bag and walk over to Sam, patting his shoulder. "Good luck."
