"And yeah-" Seungcheol stood up, "No one will go down the stage into the crowd."
"Why?" Hoshi asked.
"What why? It's dangerous." Seungcheol stated.
"How's that dangerous?" Seungkwan rolled his eyes, "Carats won't hurt us."
"I know that very well." Seungcheol nodded, "But in excitement, accidents can happen. There's no point in taking the risk."
"Oh please stop it hyung." Dino scrunched his brows, "You worry way too much."
"I'm worried about your well being."
"No one asked you to." Hoshi shrugged, "Stop forcing your decisions over us."
"Hoshi! I'm not forcing anything." Seungcheol defended, "I'm seeing you all for a lot of time now. You all just have to cut my opinions no matter what."
"You don't give opinions, you just give orders, to be honest." Minghao stated.
"And where did everyone come from? We didn't even say anything." Wonwoo muttered.
"Guys, calm down." Jeonghan stood between Seungcheol and the others.
"Of course you'll defend him again, nothing new." Seokmin sighed.
"When will you both stop using your hyung cards for no reason at all?" Seungkwan pointed out.
"Stop it guys." Joshua whispered to the younger ones, "It's too much."
"I'll just go." Seungcheol scoffed as he stormed out of the room.
"You all can't be helped." Jeonghan sighed.
"Yeah then go behind him no?" Dino looked up, "As always."
"You don't need to worry about us." Jeonghan nodded as he followed the oldest one.
"Coups! Seungcheol! Stop!" Jeonghan reached the parking lot as he saw Seungcheol getting into the car.
"I'm not stopping, if you want to come, just get into the car." Seungcheol stated without looking at the younger.
Jeonghan contemplated for a while. Where was he needed more? Of course with Seungcheol. Joshua and Jun could handle the rest of them. He got into the car as the door closed.
"Seungcheol, calm down. You know they don't mean it, right?" Jeonghan held his hand.
"They do, they mean it, Jeonghan." Seungcheol looked at him, "You know that as well. What was I saying wrong? If anyone gets into a mishap, who will suffer? Will I? No. They will. They'll get injured and I don't want it. Am I wrong? You tell me? Am I not allowed to worry about them?"
Silence fell in the car after which the younger scoffed heavily.
"Do they even love us anymore?" Jeonghan sighed as he and Seungcheol sat in the back seat of their car while the driver drove it smoothly.
"I hope they do." Seungcheol scoffed.
"Stop it hyung, you aren't my dad."
"I can take care of myself, why are you overreacting?"
"Stop treating me like I'm your actual sibling or something."
"Know your limits hyung! I'm not your own kid."
"Will you please stop bothering me? I can take care of myself."
"Will they be bothered if we leave them someday?" Jeonghan mumbled in distress.
"Don't they want us to leave already?" Seungcheol chuckled bitterly.
These kind of fights were getting more and more regular in Seventeen. Seungcheol and Jeonghan couldn't understand why their younger ones were behaving like that.
Weren't they a family? Were they not allowed to tease each other? As the older ones, were they not allowed to stop the younger ones from doing something wrong?
"Where did everything go wrong?"
"Why don't they love us now?"
"They still love and respect you." The voice of the driver echoed, "There are always two sides of the coin and they both can't see each other."
Seungcheol looked at his face and immediately recognised that he wasn't their regular driver, "How are you so sure? And first of all, who are you?"
"Do you want to see if they still love you or not?" The driver grinned.
Jeonghan and Seungcheol were confused. But the next moment, the driver intentionally slammed the car against a tree after which the car rolled over on the road.
All three of them got serious injuries. Their breaths stopped as the pace of their heartbeats gradually came to any end.
But Jeonghan and Seungcheol opened their eyes. Not in front of the car but beside it. They were perfectly fine but their eyes widened in horror when they saw their bodies lying lifelessly in the upside down car.
A crowd gathered around the vehicle as their bodies were being pulled out. No one seemed to notice them.
"Seungcheol what's happening?" Jeonghan nudged his arm.
It was when they saw the driver in front of them even though his body was stuck in the car as well.
Seungcheol grabbed his collars, "What is all this huh? Who are you?"
The driver freed himself from Seungcheol's grip and chuckled, "An eye opener, for both of you."
"What?"
"You can probably see that you're dead." The driver went on, "You said that your younger ones have lost all the love for you right? Go on, you've one year to witness them without you."
Jeonghan and Seungcheol remained silent. This can't be true. Were they dreaming?
"One year later, everything will revert to this same day and you'll be alive again." The driver continued, "Even if they don't love you, they'll still mourn for you right? But for how long? 1 month? 2 months? 3 at max. But you've a whole year to observe them. Go on, no one can see or feel you. Now you have to decide whether you wish to stay with them after everything is over or not.
In this one year, you'll understand their value. They will understand your and each other's value. You must be wondering how will they remember everything if things are going to revert back? Don't worry, they will always treasure it as a dream."
Before the duo could say anything, the driver vanished in thin air.
What was that?
"Is this even possible?" Jeonghan frowned.
•Hybe, Seventeen Practice Room, 11:30 PM•
Everyone collapsed on the floor after the rigorous practice for their new comeback.
"They didn't come back yet." Joshua worriedly stated.
"Don't you think you guys were a bit too much?" Mingyu hesitantly stated.
"I know, he wasn't wrong though." Woozi muttered.
"He seemed hurt." Jun added.
"I'm feeling really guilty right now." Seungkwan dug his face into his palm.
"I escalated things too much." Hoshi scoffed.
"Even Jeonghan hyung-" Dino gulped the lump in his throat.
"For real." Seokmin nodded.
"We were being mean, he was just worried for us." Minghao scoffed.
"Okay stop it you all, I'll just call them back and we'll apologise together." Wonwoo stood up to get his phone.
He opened his phone as a huge amount of notifications and news articles hit him like a storm. Normally, he would prioritise his work over them but the headlines weren't worth ignoring.
A shreak left his mouth as he fell down on the ground while trembling. Everyone turned towards him as they rushed to him.
Joshua picked up the phone and the screen took his soul away from his body.
Seventeen members, Scoups and Jeonghan were caught in a serious accident and were admitted to the Seoul Hospital. The doctors declared on the spot-
He couldn't read further as he broke down in tears.
"What happened?" Jun asked as he was the next to take the phone. Gradually, everyone got the news and horror took over the entire room.
No, that's not true, not at all.
"Hyung- they-" Seokmin quivered, "N-no- NO!!"
"This-" Seungkwan broke down as everyone cried loudly.
Soon enough, their manager barged into the practice room, equally shaking in fear. After seeing the scenario, he quickly understood that they must have got the news.
The internet was on fire. Fans were not able to believe it either. The fact that two eldest members of the group were no more was enough to flip their entire world.
"It's all my fault." Hoshi cried, "They wouldn't have left if I wouldn't have started the fight."
"Then I'm equally responsible." Seungkwan looked down.
"All of us are." Minghao muttered.
"This can't be true-" Woozi wiped his tears, "This- this is a lie."
All of them gathered into a group hug as they cried their hearts out.
"Guys-" The manager inhaled a deep breath, "Let's go to the hospital."
"I can't-" Dino sniffled, "I can't see them like this."
The cries and screams continued as the two eldest ones watched them without anyone knowing.
"Seungcheol." Jeonghan shook him, "This is bad. No! We can't do this to them. This is ridiculous."
"You're right." Seungcheol nodded, "Let's go back to the place where the accident had occurred. We'll find the driver and ask him to end all this."
But no matter how much they tried, they were stuck in this situation. There was no way out for the next one year.
And it was going to be hard.
They knew it.
