I took a deep breath and stood upright.
I walked ahead, noticing Gojo's glances behind me.
Yaga, as serious as ever, asked, "Shouldn't you already be in Osaka?"
I replied, "Sorry, wanted to enjoy the last day."
Yaga gestured with his hand to hurry up.
I rushed into my room, quickly grabbed a suitcase, and packed my essentials.
I felt Gojo's presence, and as I turned around, he slammed the door, saying, "You're just leaving without any objection?"
I continued packing and said, "Firstly, it's only for a few months, and secondly, there's a shortage of personnel. If two strong sorcerer are already here in Tokyo, why not split up for a while?"
He looked at me with wide eyes and then said, "Is that so?"
I turned to face him, and he came very close, but his gaze was cold and not as affectionate as yesterday.
I wanted to open my mouth and say something, but he placed his index finger on my lips to hush me and said, "Have fun in Osaka," and disappeared.
Did I say something wrong? I thought he was an idiot.
I went out with my suitcase, and Yaga, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara were outside.
The three youngsters looked sad.
I patted them on the head and assured them, "Everything will be fine, and tell Gojo that he's a jerk."
Megumi looked at me strangely.
I put some chocolate in his pocket as blackmail; he looked at me dumbfounded.
I grinned and then went to Yaga, and we fist-bumped.
Then, I got into the car and waved to them from the window.
They waved back, but I felt hurt. Why did Gojo ignore me?
After half an hour of driving, the car came to a stop. I had fallen asleep and didn't notice. The door opened, and someone pinched my cheek.
I didn't wake up, so the person pulled on both cheeks and said annoyed, "Get up."
In shock, I activated my ice.
When I opened my eyes more clearly, I saw Gojo.
He said, "Oh, the ice princess is awake," snapped his fingers to break the ice, and pulled me out of the car.
I held onto the seat tightly.
He said, "Still being stubborn, huh?" and pulled harder on my legs.
I made a annoyed grimace, "Let me go," and held on even tighter.
The driver acted as if nothing was happening behind him.
I tried to free my legs from his grip, but then he pulled even harder, lifting me out of the car like a sack of potatoes.
From below, I saw a silly grin.
I shot ice spikes at him, but he just waved his hand back and forth, grinning, "You know that won't work," and then let me go.
With my head not far from the ground, I hit and rolled to the side, screaming "OUCH."
When he offered his hand to help me up, he stupidly said, "Why are you crying?"
This hit a nerve, and from below, I activated my ice, creating a hole in the ground, and he fell in.
He said, "Seriously?"
I imitated him and said, "Why are you crying?"
He laughed and then easily got up, standing in front of me.
The height difference was so evident.
Suddenly, he hugged me tightly and said, "Sorry for earlier."
I hugged him back, burying my face in his chest, murmuring, "I'll miss you."
He patted my head with his hand and said, "I'll miss you too."
I lifted my head so I could look him in the eyes and said, "We'll stay in touch."
He smiled sadly at me and said, "Of course, and now get back in; the journey still has 5 hours left."
I nodded and pulled away from him just before getting back in.
However, he pulled me back to him and kissed me with affection.
The combination of his perfume and the taste of cherry and raspberry in his mouth made me only want to kiss him back.
He held my face with his hands and then broke the kiss.
He pressed his forehead against mine and said, "If anything happens, let me know immediately, okay?"
I nodded.
He pinched my cheeks one last time and smiled at me.
Every time I looked into his eyes, it felt like I was looking at my reflection, as if we were made for each other.
I got back into the car, and the driver turned to me, asking softly, "Is the gentleman bothering you?"
I laughed and shook my head, saying, "No, everything's fine."
Gojo closed the door behind me, and the driver started driving.
I turned around one last time and saw him waving at me until he was no longer visible.
I rested my head against the window, and after a while, I fell asleep again.
The driver woke me up, and I opened my eyes.
I opened the car door, stepped out, and stretched.
Taking out my phone, I snapped a photo of myself and sent it to Gojo.
After putting my phone away, I entered the academy, guided by some servants to the director's office.
They opened the door, and inside, a man sat behind the desk, seemingly the director.
I didn't recognize him at first, but then, shocked, I exclaimed, "Grandpa?!"
He grinned at me, saying, "My sweet grandchild, come here."
He stood up, hugged me tightly, and I hugged him back, saying, "Long time no see."
He replied, "We'll be seeing each other more often now," with a grin.
Confused, I asked, "Why wasn't I informed that you're the head and the one who called for me?"
He released the hug, yawned, and said, "I wanted to keep my sweet grandchild away from that damn Gojo clan."
My eyes widened as I realized he only called me because of Gojo, and there was no actual personnel shortage.
Coldly, I said, "What's the meaning of this, Grandpa?"
He shrugged, "What do you mean?"
Angrily, I said, "Just because our clans are at war with the Gojo clan doesn't mean you should take it out on individual people," then turned around, slammed the door behind me, and went to my room.
My things were already neatly folded in the wardrobe.
I threw myself onto my bed, took a deep breath, and exhaled.
I received a message from Gojo, opened it, and saw a photo of him playing soccer with the head of a cursed spirit.
I grinned and replied, "Don't you have anything better to do?"
He responded shortly after, "Just trying to pass the time."
Then he asked, "And how is it?"
I replied, "So far, so good. Hope tomorrow will be more interesting,"and put my Phone away and fell asleep in my bed.
