"I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing you cook Natsu."

"Hey! I cook sometimes."

"If you call buying the food from a restaurant, cooking, then you do all the time...anyway, you really don't need to, Natsu. I can cook myself, you know?"

"Yeah yeah..."

"...I actually really need money so I was thinking of going on a job soon."

"Okay."

"...like tomorrow. I was going to go to the guild tomorrow and pick one out?"

"..."

"Natsu?"

"...yeah that sounds great, Lucy.."

I sigh and lift my head off of my arm where it had previously set for the last thirty minutes.

Cana looks at me from the corner of her eye at my movement, the barrel in her lap shifting slightly.

I look to her and shrug my shoulders, forming a quick smile.

"I should probably just get going. It's already past four."

A half frown appears on her face and she manages a small wave with her hand.

"Okay, Lucy. Be careful on your own."

I address her as I walk away with a quick wave, shrugging off her worry.

I walk towards the doors and Erza glances at me before pausing her conversation with Gray.

They both walk towards me.

"Going alone?"

I nod my head and smile a small smile.

"Yeah, if I go any later I won't be able to get a train back tonight."

Gray shakes his head.

"Natsu's probably causing trouble at his other job...maybe you should be happy that he's not going to be there to cause anymore damage?"

I let out a quick laugh and shrug my shoulders, though Gray's attempt to lighten my mood isn't working at all.

"Yeah, you're probably right. I should get going now."

Erza speaks up.

"We could go along with you since Natsu isn't back yet."

I shake my head and open one of the doors.

"That's alright. I can handle it by myself."

A soft smile appears on Erza's face and she nods her head just barely.

"Okay, Lucy."

Gray waves a good bye to me.

My hand pushes against the door and I wave with a smile as I disappear out of the door, it falling shut behind me as I let go.

I pause for a moment, feeling the rays of the sun shining down onto my pale skin, my eyes closing in content with the warmth.

I told him that I was going to go on a job...so why did he take one?

I didn't technically ask him if he was going to go with me or if he wanted to...but we're a team. I thought that it was a given that he should come with me.

A heavy sigh comes out of my mouth and I open my eyes.

I shake my head and my hands quickly, as if I'm wringing something off that's coated onto my body. When I stop, I put a smile on my face and start walking in the direction of the station.

Oh well, Lucy.

It's just one job.
