CHAPTER 4
I followed behind Harry, keeping my distance. I watched him out of curiosity, how he walked so confidently and how the muscles in his back seem to flex as he moved. He reaches up and brushes his curly hair back, and I catch sight of his tattoos peaking out from under his sleeve. He glances over his shoulder and I turn away quickly.
He chuckles and shakes his head to himself. "Checking me out?"
"Get over yourself, Styles." I say, groaning and rolling my eyes.
"I'm just calling it the way I see it."
"There's nothing to see, not every girl obsesses over you." I shoot back.
His dimple comes out the slightest as he smirks at me. "Actually most girls do."
"That's cause you're ho-" I bite my tongue to keep from saying what I was going to say. What the hell Kay?
He grins so big at me it is annoyingly cute. "Hot?"
"You do realize it's a turn off when guys know they're hot."
"I don't know I'm hot," he glances over his shoulder at me. "I'm just guessing I might be, considering most of them offer to have sex with me."
"And do you take them up on that offer?" I ask.
He shrugs and scratches the back of his head. "sometimes."
"You're gross."
He laughs and gestures to himself with his hands. "I'm a guy."
"Let me ask you something, have you ever had a relationship with any of those girls you 'shagged'?"
"Nope," he replies. Just what I had expected.
"That's what I thought." I say, quickening my pace.
He halts in his tracks though, making me run into his hard back.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He turns around, facing me and his eyebrow is arched.
"It means, I'm pretty sure you're incapable of having a relationship. You're the type of guy who has one night stands. You'll never really settle down." I brush past him with ease and walk up the stairs, and heard him following behind me.
"That's not true, I can have a girlfriend."
"Ha! Yeah right. I bet you've never been in love."
He catches up to me quickly and walks beside me. "oh and you have?"
I look down at the floor and shook my head. He was right, I've never been in love either. "That's different." I said, shaking my head.
"How is that any different?" He asks, his eyebrows knitting together.
"Because, girls throw themselves at you all the time. You have a chance to fall in love. Guys don't even look my way." I say quietly.
His eyebrows shot up. "That's hard to believe. You look like a girl who's done it all."
I glance at him, raising my eyebrow. "Are you calling me a slut?"
He laughs throwing his head back, and the dimples in his cheek are on full display. His throat bobs as he laughs and I will admit it's a beautiful sight.
"No, I'm just saying you don't look like the type that would be a v-"
"Virgin?" I ask incredulously.
"Well, are you?" He ask, smirking at me while his eyes darken.
I smack my lips shut and shake my head. "I am not having this conversation with you. I don't even know you."
"Well then get to know me." He says smiling.
"Don't want to."
He bit down on his lip to try and hide his smile. "You're feisty."
I push the loose strands of my hair behind my ear and sighed, fastening my pace so I can get away from him as soon as possible. "Ya well bite me."
We walked in silence for the next few minutes, the only sound being our feet against the pavement. I kept my gaze locked ahead of me and nervously twisted the ring I wore on my finger. We're almost to the parking lot.
"You know what, let's have a bet." He said.
"What?" I asked.
He came to a stop and pivoted on his heel, facing me. "A bet. I want to bet that I can have a real relationship."
I looked at him evenly. "Right, you do that and I'll read about it in 'People' magazine. Sounds good." I said, patting his shoulder.
He rolled his eyes. "No. You and me. Be my girlfriend. I want to show that I can be a good boyfriend."
I was gaped at him in bewilderment, my mouth hanging open. "Me?"
He shrugged, "Why not?"
"Because, I don't even like you."
He smirked. "You will."
"And that is one of the reasons why I don't like you. You're full of yourself." I walked around him towards the parking lot.
He ran up next to me and smiled. "C'mon, I can make you famous?"
"I don't want to be famous."
"Well then I'll give you something in return, anything."
"You don't have anything I want."
He sighed and grabbed my arm, pulling me to a halt. "Look, I don't know why but I find you interesting. You're different. And, what you said bothered me, and you're probably not the only one who thinks that. I want to prove you wrong."
I tried to ignore the tingling feeling I felt under his hand and pulled my arm away. "So prove me wrong. It just doesn't need to be with me." I mumbled before turning away from him.
"Just think about it. I have a Twitter, message me when you decide. I'll be in town for three more weeks, and I'll be waiting. " He said, staring at me.
I unlocked my car door, and glanced at him. "Don't hold your breath." With that I slid into my car, and drove away with Harry in my rear view mirror.
