KAYDENCE

After I had gotten out of the shower I was hesitant about walking into the bedroom. I know Harry had seen the goose bumps that rose on my arm when he touched me and I felt embarrassed. The whole point was to hide that I felt the same way about him, but my body was doing a horrible job at it.

I had realized I felt the same way about him when he confessed how he felt, and my heart had skipped a whole beat. I realized it when I had suddenly felt giddy and happy. I haven't felt happy in a long time.

But I chose to keep to myself how I felt. I would admit it to myself, but I would never admit it to him. He was Harry Styles, a guy who had so much going for him. And I was Kaydence Taylor, someone who didn't know what they wanted and had a shit ton of issues. I wasn't going to drag Harry down.

Sucking up my fear, I had walked out of the bedroom and told myself to get over it. But once I saw Harry sitting on the couch, his arm bent behind his head as he watched tv I felt butterflies again and went straight for the bed. I needed to avoid him, at least for right now.

He glanced back at me, his eyebrows knitting in confusion. "Don't you think it's a little early for bed?"

I fluffed the pillow, and threw the covers over me. "I slept on a park bench, I want to take a nap considering I didn't sleep very well."

"Yeah, I didn't sleep well either. I think I'll take one too before the concert." He stood up, walking towards me.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

He slipped off his shirt, revealing his tattoos on his chest and arms. "Getting in my bed."

"No you can't sleep here." I said too quickly.

He crossed his arms over his chest, defining the muscles in his arms. Dear God, he needed to get away now. "Why not?"

"I'm not sharing a bed with you."

He rolled his eyes, and started to lift the covers. "You're being ridiculous, we've already shared the bed twice."

I pulled the blanket from him, and spoke fast. "Harry, please. I just wanna be alone right now. I need space okay? Just for now, can you go nap on the couch."

He looked at me, then smiled. "Anything for you, love." He turned back to the couch, laying on it as I sat there trying to calm my heart.

I threw myself back on the pillows, closing my eyes and seeing nothing but green eyes and dimples as I drifted off to sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Kaydence, don't make me jump on the bed again."
I groaned, turning on my back as I slowly opened my eyes, blinking at the sudden brightness in the room. Harry was sitting at the edge of the bed, grinning at me. "Have a nice nap?"
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yeah...Why?"
His eyes were filled with amusement, and his dimple deepened as he smirked at me. "You said my name a few times."
I felt my cheeks burning, and I pulled the covers higher covering my face up until my eyes. "I did not."
"How would you know? You were sleeping."
"So were you."
He smiled bigger. Why was he so happy? "Actually, I wasn't. I was awake long enough to hear what you said."
I rolled my eyes, throwing the covers over my head and turning over on my stomach. "Whatever, I'm going back to sleep."
"No you're not, get up." He said.
I didn't answer, and shut my eyes hoping he'd go away.
He ripped the covers off me, and grabbed my ankle, dragging me down the bed and I felt panic hit me at the memory of my father doing something similar to this. I screamed and kicked at Harry, backing up against the head board. I stared at him wide eyed, my chest rising and falling rapidly.
"Don't grab me like that." I said, my voice shaking.
Harry gaped at me, his face shocked. "I...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.."
I hugged my legs to my chest, trying to control my breathing. "It's fine. Don't do it again."
He stared at me curiously, looking down I rested my head on my knees and closed my eyes. I breathed in and out slowly, pushing any thoughts of my father out of my head. He's not here Kaydence, it's just Harry. He didn't grab you, Harry did. Harry is not your dad.
I repeated this over and over again in my head as my breathing slowed. Once I felt better, I looked up at Harry to find him staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
He tilted his head, studying me. "I'm trying to figure you out."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I don't understand what just happened. Are you gonna explain?"
"Nope."
He nodded understandably. "Are you okay though?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Okay."
We both just stared at each other, waiting for the other person to say something. I didn't like how he was looking at me, it was giving me butterflies again. I had the urge to fall back into my slumber to avoid him again, but I couldn't keep doing that.
"So, you want to come to the concert tonight?" Harry asked.
"I don't think that's a good idea."
He smiled slightly. "It is, because we aren't going to sing that song. I talked to the lads and they're cool with it."
"Wait," I sat up straighter. "You told them about my brother?"
He shook his head, his beautiful curls moving with him. "No, I just told them you didn't like the song. It's not like they asked for me to elaborate on why. I would never tell them something you wouldn't want me to repeat."
I grinned, feeling proud at what he said. He wasn't so bad, I guess. "Thanks."
"No problem. So are you going to come?"
"Well I don't really want to sit alone..."
"You'll be fine, I'll practically be right next to you. Just on stage instead. Plus, you have front row again."
I sighed, standing from the bed. "Alright, I'll go."
He smiled, moving to the drawers to pull out some clothes. "Okay, go get ready."
I went to my bag, pulling out shorts and a flowy top. I felt nervous, not because of freaking out again, but because last time I was there Harry also called me his girlfriend. The last thing I wanted, was to get killed by thousands of fans.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Harry held my hand as we walked in the back door, entering backstage. He pulled me behind him, leading me through a hallway and opening up a door off to the right.

Once we got inside I noticed the other boys were already in here. Niall was sitting on a chair in front of the mirror, while Lou stood in front of him brushing make up on his face. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye and grinned. "Hey! You came."

"Yeah, I'd thought I'd give it another shot." I said.

He smiled, and Lou turned his cheek away from me, brushing more makeup on. She looked up at me smiling briefly before she went back to paying attention to Niall.

I looked around the room, and Zayn, Louis, and Liam were sitting on the couch talking. Harry pulled me to them, and they all looked up at me. Liam smiled and stood up, giving me a hug. I tried not to flinch, but just stood there awkwardly as he hugged me.

"How are you?" He asked, pulling away from me and gripping my shoulders.

"Okay I guess."

"Okay? You're at our concert, you should be better then okay." Zayn said, joking.

"I'm not a fan, remember?" I said.

"Ah, so honest. I like it." Niall said from behind me. The boys all chuckled and continued on with their conversation they were having as I stood there, leaning against the wall.

Harry was sitting on the arm of the couch, his hands on his knees. He was laughing with his friends, and I watched him as he laughed even harder at something they said. He threw his head back, and clapped his hands once while he laughed. I smiled slightly, I liked his laugh. It was loud and ridiculous, and it was one of those laughs that once you heard it, you couldn't help but smile or laugh too. His dimple was also the deepest when he laughed and he looked so happy. I honestly had never seen anyone so beautiful.

I glanced from Harry to Louis, he was already staring at me, smirking. He had caught me staring at Harry, and I felt my face turning red from embarrassment. I looked away, pretending I hadn't noticed and turned my attention to the floor.

The door opened, and a woman I didn't recognize stepped into the room. She was older, she had dark brown hair, and blue eyes. She glanced around the room, her eyes stopping on Harry.

Harry glanced up at the door, and he smiled when he saw the woman. He stood up, walking towards her.

"Hi mum." He said, hugging the woman who was obviously his mother.

She hugged him back, smiling up at her son. "How's my boy?"

He smiled. "I'm good mum, how are you?"

"Oh I'm fine, actually I'm more then fine. I have a surprise for you." She said, practically jumping in place from excitement.

Harry raised his perfect eyebrow. "A surprise?"

She nodded, and moved to open the door. A girl with dark brown hair, caramel coloured skin, big brown eyes with long eyelashes, and a smile that was so white and perfect I wondered how she got her teeth that white, stepped into the room. She was really pretty.

Harry stared at her with wide eyes, then broke into the biggest smile I have ever seen. "Nicole?!"

She giggled, and waved at him timidly. "Hi Harry."

"Oh my God." He ran to her, hugging her tightly as she threw her arms around his waist. For some reason I didn't like looking at her hands touching the bottom of his back, and thought about what a whore she must be.

What the hell was wrong with me? I didn't even know the girl, and here I was thinking about how she probably belonged on a pole. I needed to relax.

They pulled away from the hug, and Harry smiled down at her. "What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be in England finishing school?"

She smiled and rolled her big brown eyes. "I already finished school, that just goes to show how much you know about me styles."

Styles. I called him that...

He laughed. Then she laughed. Then they both laughed. Ugh what the actual fuck. Nothing was even that funny.

I stood there against the wall, and looked down at my converse. I felt out of place, and I wanted to leave with out being noticed. I glanced up meeting Louis's eyes, he gave a sympathetic look, and I smiled sadly at him.

Harry turned from his friend, noticing me. "Oh, mum, Nicole, I want you to meet someone."

I stayed where I was until Harry grabbed my hand, pulling me away from the wall and right next to him.

"This is my girlfriend, Kaydence."

I almost corrected him about being his girlfriend, then remembered the bet. I shut my mouth and smiled at both of them.

Harry's mom smiled at me politely, while Nicole 's smile seemed fake.

I turned to Harry's mom. "Nice to meet you Mrs...?"

She smiled, and pulled me in for a hug. "Call me Anne, darling."

Pulling away from her I nodded and smiled. "Okay, Anne it is."

She brushed my hair that was on my cheek. "Harry, she's beautiful."

Harry grinned, squeezing my hand. "I know."

I blushed, and turned my attention to Nicole. She was staring down at mine and Harry's hands. She looked up, and composed herself, grinning at me from ear to ear. "Hi, I'm Nicole Fontan." She Stuck her hand out at me.

Good, I'm not a hugging person either.

I reached out and shook her hand. "Kaydence Taylor."

She nodded, and dropped her hand. We both stood there, awkwardly staring at each other.

"Hey, I think we need to start getting ready to get on stage." Thank you Louis, I thought as he stepped up next to Harry.

Harry nodded, and opened the door, calling a security guard over. "Can you escort Kaydence to her seat please?"

"Oh Harry, Nicole too. She's going to watch the concert front row."

Harry turned to Nicole. "Where's your seat?"

"It's seat number four."

Harry's face brightened, and he turned to me smiling. "Your seat three, you guys are right next to each other." He turned back to the security guard. "Escort them both please?"

Fuck.

The security guard nodded, and gestured for us to follow. Nicole walked ahead of me and out the door, but not before hugging Harry.

She stood at the door frame waiting for me, and Harry grabbed my hand pulling me back when I tried to walk away. I looked up at him, confused.

He quickly leaned down and kissed my cheek, making it burn from his kiss. He pushed my hair behind my ear, leaning down by my ear. "Just so you know, I'll be thinking of you the whole time." He let me go, and I turned away from him before he could see my red face.

I walked up to Nicole, looking up at her. She waved to Harry, then turned to me and gave me the fakest smile, and followed the security guard.

This was bad. Really bad.
