HARRY

I was so worried about Kaydence when I came to the hotel and realized she wasn't here yet. I had my head in my hands and was convinced something might of happened to her, that I can't explain the relief I felt when she walked through the door.

She hadn't looked at me and after pleading for her to tell me what was wrong, she did.

She looked at me, her eyes hard and determined. "I killed my brother."

I reflexively flinched from her answer, blinking several times before I responded. "What?" I must of heard wrong.

"I killed my brother."

I stood there staring at her my eyes wide. I never expected her to say that, and I didn't know how to respond. She said she killed someone. Her brother. I knew deep down that any normal person would take off running or call the police, but my curiosity got the best of me.

"What happened?" I asked.

She furrowed her eye brows at me, pressing her lips tightly together and shook her head. "I gotta go." She tried to push past me, but I held my ground.

"No, tell me what happened."

She pulled back, and looked at me with the most confused look on her face. "You're suppose to hate me and let me leave. You're not suppose to ask me what happened."

"I don't hate you, and I won't let you leave. And I am asking you what happened."

She ran her fingers through her hair, her hand trembling nervously. "I wasn't prepared for this."

"For what?" I asked.

"For you to not hate me."

I reached out, pushing her hair away from her face and she flinched from my touch. "I don't. And I need you to tell me what happened." I said, while trying to meet her eyes.

She refused to meet my eyes, and stepped away from me. "I can't tell you."

"Yes you can."

"Harry, I can't." Her voice shook.

"You can." I whispered to her.

She gazed at me for a moment, then turned away walking towards the bed. She sat at the end of it and stared straight ahead. I walked to her, sat next to her and waited patiently for her to begin.

We sat there in silence for awhile, when she finally spoke. "I never had any friends in high school, ya know."

"Why?" I asked cautiously.

She looked down at the floor, kicking the carpet with the tip of her toe. "Just didn't." She stopped, going back to gazing ahead. "My brother Daniel was my best friend. Like, my only friend. He was two years older then me, and would dress up as a high school kid and sneak in the school just so he could eat lunch with me and I wouldn't have to eat alone." A small smile played on her lips, and her eyes glossed over.

"Anyways, on my seventeenth birthday he snuck into the school at lunch and I ditched the rest of my classes because he said he was taking me out the rest of the day. He took me to the beach and we spent the whole afternoon just relaxing and playing in the water. We built a huge sand castle, and dug up sand craps then put them all on the castle so they could be guards of the castle." She laughed lightly, and I couldn't help but smile at that.

Her smile faltered. "We left the beach kind of late and it was dark. I begged him to let me drive and he did, since it was my birthday. I was a fan of you guys at the time and plugged my iPod into the auxiliary cord and started playing your songs. He told me to "turn the shit off" but I only blasted it louder and sang along to the songs. He gave up, and just laughed it off. Irresistible came on, and It was my favorite song at the time. I started singing to it, and dancing crazy trying to make Danny laugh, I wasn't paying attention to the road..."

She stared off, losing herself in her thoughts.

"Then what happened?" I asked her softly.

She blinked, and I saw a tear slide down her face. "I ran a red light, and a car hit us. The impact was from his side. I blacked out, and woke up on a stretcher awhile later. There were ambulances everywhere, and I searched for my brother on one of the other stretchers but he wasn't there. I looked back to the car, and saw a body on the floor, and black bag over it."

I sat there in silence, staring at her. She really thought she killed him, but she didn't. It was an accident.

"It was an accident." I state.

She shakes her head, her hair falling in her face. "He died. And it was my fault. Which is why my mother hates me, I don't blame her of coarse."

"You're mom blames you?"

She nods. "Yeah, but it is my fault. My mom told me I was to leave the house once I graduated and not to return."

"What'd your dad say?"

I notice how her shoulders seem to tense, and her grip tightens around the edge of the bed. "He left us, remember?"

"Yeah...but doesn't he know?"

"No."

I decide that I won't say anything further about her father, and try to help her.

I reach over and take a hold of her hand.

"Is that why you panicked on stage? Because the song..it was the one you sang to when it happened?"

She nods slowly, her eyes forming tears.

"It wasn't your fault." I say softly, trying to make her understand.

"But it was. I was the one driving. I was messing around when I shouldn't have."

I squeeze her hand gently. "But it was an accident Kay. You need to understand that. You can't blame yourself for it. You have to forgive yourself."

She looks at me, her eyes spilling tears and her bottom lip trembled and even though it's a bad time, I can't help but think how cute it is.

"I can't." She whispers.

I caress her hand with my thumb. "You can."

She shakes her head, and her body begins to shake. "I can't. I.." She stops and whimpers. Her head falls, and she starts to sob.

She looks up at me with the most heartbreaking expression on her face. "I killed him. I killed my best friend. My brother. And I hate myself for it." Her voice breaks at the end and she erupts into more sobs, and I can't think of anything to say that will comfort her, because deep down I think there is nothing that can. She's hurting, So I do the only thing I can do at this moment.

I pull her close to me, wrap her in my arms and hold her.

Okay, sorry I took long to update but this chapter was kinda hard to write so y'all better enjoy it. Haha just kidding.
