VI
(Just so everyone understand:
Grian, Taurtis and Techno were like brothers when they were young because Grian's mom took care of them all. But Taurtis and Techno didn't live in her house and they were not officially her children. She was just the only one who cared for them.
When she died, their paths separated. Then Grian and Taurtis met in high school. They weren't as close anymore, but they were like best friends. Then Grian and Sam fell in love, but Sam ruined it. Grian fell in love with Taurtis after that because he wanted a good relationship and knew Taurtis could give it to him. But Taurtis already loved Sam and then everything went downhill. Grian's love died with Taurtis. He decided not to love anyone else anymore in a romantic way.
When Taurtis came back, he was dead and they weren't in love anymore because it wouldn't have been possible. Then Taurtis joined The Council and the last pieces of their romantic love were destroyed by the sibling-bond The Council members had and now Grian, Taurtis and Techno are like biological brothers, even if they're not actually related)
[No one]
Grian stepped out of the hotel and looked around. He was in Phoenix Drop, the new capital of Ru'aun. He was so close to home and it was kinda scaring him.
"It looks so familiar, doesn't it?" He heard Techno's monotone voice behind him.
"It really does," He hummed to his brother.
"I still can't believe we're here," Taurtis whispered and spun around, looking at everything.
"Should we walk or take a boat?" Techno inquired. The trip to Nahakra Village was not the fastest.
"I'd recommend boat," Taurtis answered, "Or we can also walk if someone wants to get lost in that huge forest," He smirked.
"Yeah, we should take a boat," Grian nodded. They all knew that the forest was impossible to cross without permission of the witch, who lived there.
"Good," Techno sighed in relieve. He was definitely using a boat rather than trying to walk through the forest.
"We can go by the boat to the Nahakra Village and from there walk to the outskirts of the village," Taurtis mentioned.
"Let's do that," Grian nodded. He wasn't that nervous anymore, but he still was a bit nervous about going back to his old home.
The travel took a few hours, but finally the boat docked on the dock of the Nahakra Village. The trio jumped out of the boat and looked around. The place brought back so many memories.
The village looked exactly like it used to. The thieves were everywhere, but the trio was used to keeping their guards up.
"I can't believe we're back.." Taurtis whispered. He was so amazed by the fact that the place looked exactly the same.
"Still the same.. Full of thieves," Techno let his eyes run through everything that was in his vision.
"I can't believe this is the place we grew up in," Grian's breath hitched as he scouted the area with his eyes.
'This is your home? Damn, and I grew up in the sewers!' Xavier's voice rang through Grian's head.
'Did you actually grow up in the sewers.?'
'Not actually. I grew up under a bridge.'
'Are you being serious.?'
'As dead serious as I be,' The dead Fallen snorted.
'You grew up under a bridge?' Grian inquired, grinning, as the trio walked through the plaza in full amaze about the place.
'Yep. My kinds were feared and everyone hated us. I didn't have a home before I found the Watchers, but they just used me after all,' Xavier explained coldly.
'The Watchers used you?'
'The Fallen Watchers are rare and the players are fucking afraid of them. Of course the Watchers want to use us.'
"This place looks so familiar that it actually hurts," Taurtis grinned.
"Just wait 'till we get to the house," Techno grinned.
"Hey Gri, do you want to lead us there?" Taurtis asked softly and took his brother's hand.
"We'll follow you there," Techno smiled to him and took his other hand. (Technoblade having emotions caught in 4K)
"S-sure.!" Grian smiled nervously and squished both of his brothers' hand tightly before starting to walk to the direction of their house.
The trio made their way through the village to the outskirts. There was the forest that was owned by the witch named Hyria. In the edges of the forest was one single house. The only house Hyria had allowed to be built there.
They stared at the house hidden between the trees. It was there and untouched. Hyria hadn't allowed the thieves to touch it and that was something the trio were really greatful of. The house meant the world to them.
It was a medieval styled house that looked like the houses in Nahakra Village, but it also had its own unique details that made it fit the forest better.
"It's still there.." Grian whispered as they approached the house. It looked exactly like it had looked all those years ago.
"This place is bringing back so many memories," Taurtis whispered as they stopped in front of the house.
"This garden was where I learned to fight," Techno hummed sadly. He really missed their childhood when they didn't have to worry about anything and everything was really chill and fun.
"Yeah, and we would just run around here while mom watched us through the kitchen's window," Grian smiled sadly and tears filled his eyes. He really misses his mother.
"We would roll in the mud 'till she noticed and hurried outside to stop us. Then she would force us to take a bath and change clothes," Taurtis sniffled. The memories were really flowing back to them.
"She would laugh at the jokes we made even if they were not even funny," Techno smiled through his tears. He never cried in front of others, but he trusted Grian and Taurtis.
"Some nights we would have sleepovers and all fit into my bed. She would hum us her favorite tune and read some books she had found from the village," Grian added and didn't even bother to wipe away his tears because he knew they wouldn't stop.
"She would take us to the village and threaten everyone who tried to mug us. She would also tell us everything about the village and its history," Taurtis remembered.
"She would braid my hair and wash our clothes after we got them all dirty," Techno tried wiping away his tears, but it was no use.
"Sometimes she would take us to the forest to meet her friend Hyria. Hyria would always show us all really amazing magic tricks and something mom would even join her and use her Watcher-magic," Grian looked at the forest.
"She would make many different foods by herself, using the vegetables and herbs that grew in the garden," Taurtis looked around in the garden the were standing in.
"She would let us practice with the wooden swords and show us many really cool techniques. Her fight was so elegant that I yet have seen someone as elegant as her, if there even is one," Techno added.
"She would always worry about us, but she was never extremely overprotective. She was only making sure we were safe and nothing was wrong. She really cared about all of us," Grian sniffled.
"She was so kind to everyone who was kind to her. She never hurt the animals and was always really careful with the nature. The forest was her favorite place," Taurtis looked at the forest.
"She was always so kind and nice. Even if she was mad, she didn't ever shout at us. She would just raise her voice a bit and that was enough to make us shut up and listen to her," Techno remembered.
"Her favorite flower was Lily of The Valley. They grew in the forest and we would always go there to hang out on the small meadow in the forest where they grew. She taught us not to pick up flowers if not needed because the flowers belonged to the nature," Grian reminded.
"Her purple eyes were always so pretty and welcoming. They never looked creepy or scary even if it wasn't really a natural eye color," Taurtis hummed. Now all three of them were hiding purple eyes behind their illusion eye colors.
"She was never mean to us. Sometimes strick, but never mean. She always kept her cool around us and rarely yelled at the strangers who were trying to mug us," Techno whispered.
"If one of us got injured, she didn't hesitate to help. She always patched us up and made sure we were feeling safe. She really showed us that we meant the world to her," Grian sobbed.
"She always chose us over her, even if me and Techno weren't even her kids biologically or legally. She really gave us the love we needed and showed us what love means," Taurtis bit his lower lip to hold back a sob.
They looked at each other before Grian placed his hand on the door handle and let the door flew wide open.
The house looked exactly the same as it had looked all those years ago. Nothing had chanced. On the living room floor was Grian's homework that he had left there the morning of the day everything went downhill. On the bathroom was a bucket full of cleaning water because Ciliren had been planning on washing the floors that day. Grian's bed wasn't made and there were games all around the floor from the boys' game night the night before.
"Everything is exactly like it was before.." Grian whispered as his eyes stopped on the dried blood stain on the kitchen's floor.
"Everything had been so great the day before.. But then it all just snapped..." Taurtis whispered as he glanced at the floor of Grian's room.
"The Watchers are cruel..." Techno whispered.
"They ruin lives and tear families apart.. It was better for a moment when The Council was there, but now it's getting worse again when we're no longer in charge..." Grian whispered and glanced at a picture of him as a baby and his mother holding him.
"She didn't deserve to die.." Taurtis whispered and tried to wipe away his tears.
"She definitely didn't deserve it.." Techno nodded as tears fell from his eyes.
"She didn't... But still she died... And we can't do anything else about it..." Grian whispered and gently placed his hand on top of the picture.
"Everything will be okay in the end, I'm sure it will.!" Taurtis wrapped his arms around Grian, Techno following the action.
"At least we still have each other.!" Techno added.
'It'll be okay, trust me,' Xavier joined.
'Alright... I-I trust you.!'
