The brothers looks at Aryan shocked.

Ragini: Sachin Singhania... I have heard this name before.

Sanskar: bhabhi, he's the one who wanted to harm us but bhai spoiled his plan and put him behind the bars, before your marriage.

He says with gritted teeth. Ragini's eyes widens remembering him.

Ragini: that moron! I'm going to kill him.

Arjun: he is going to regret this. I can't believe he's still stuck on that thing.

Ryan: we can tell this in the court, right?

Aryan: no! It's not enough. He used to call Laksh randomly doesn't prove anything. We know that he must be blackmailing Laksh but we don't have any proofs. And we don't know about what he was blackmailing Laksh. The reason must be very solid because Laksh isn't a fool to listen to him without a big reason.

Others too nods in agreement with him.

Swara: then? What we're going to do? The day after tomorrow is the first hearing and we don't have any proof in favor of jiju!

Aryan: we somehow have to take a further date so that we can get time to find clues and know the complete truth.

Sanskar: but no bloody lawyer is ready to take our case.

He says pulling his hair in frustration.

She opens her cupboard and starts opening all the drawers. She sighs in relief as she takes out a red colored diary from the drawer. She sits on the bed and takes her phone in her hands. She turns the pages of the diary.

Ragini: I just hope he didn't change his number.

She says as she crosses her fingers and dials a number from the diary. The bell starts ringing and someone picks up the call after a few rings.

Opposite person: hello...

Ragini: hello! Am I talking to Nirav Sharma?

Opposite person: yes! Who are you?

Ragini: oh you hippo! You forgot me so easily!

Nirav: Ragini! Is that you?

Ragini: yes! I am Ragini.

Nirav: oh my God! I can't believe it. You called! After so many years!

Ragini: yes! Actually, I need your help.

Nirav: yes, say!

Ragini: you've done law right?

Ragini: I want you to fight the case of my hus... ex husband.

Ragini disconnects the call and breaths in relief.

Ragini: one problem is sorted out. Now, the meeting with Mr stubborn.

She says as she looks at Laksh's photo on the wallpaper of her phone.

Ragini: I'll get you back.

She says determined as she closes her eyes.

Laksh was looking up at the ceiling of the cell. He was thinking about what was going to happen in the hearing,  the next day.

Laksh: tomorrow is the hearing. Maybe, tomorrow will be the last time I would be able to see my family! Because I know that the case will get closed tomorrow itself.

He looks at the door as he hears it opening. He looks on as Ragini enters inside. He immediately gets up.

She was wearing suit not saree. Her nuptial chain wasn't around her neck. There wasn't any vermillion in her hairline. She was looking so incomplete and the absence of those things reminded him that she isn't his anymore. They are not husband and wife now.

Ragini moves towards him and the constable leaves after locking the door.

Laksh: what are you doing here?

Ragini: why? I can't come to meet my sister's brother in law?

She asks with a raised eyebrow. Laksh looks at her helplessly. He wanted to hear 'my love's from her but he knew that he himself has brought their relationship to this stage. He should not expect that from her.

Ragini: what did you think that if you'll not tell anything to us then we'll not get to know anything?

Laksh: what are you talking about?

Ragini: Sachin Singhania...

Laksh looks at her shocked.

Ragini: he's the one who was blackmailing you and because of whom you're doing all this, right?

Laksh: no!

Ragini: just stop lying Laksh. We've found out this. We'll found out the reason too.

Laksh: just stay away from him Ragini.

He warns in a strict tone.

Ragini: but I was thinking to have a meeting with him.

Laksh: you're not going to do anything like that. Understand!

Ragini: and with which right you're ordering me?

Laksh goes silent at that. Ragini fights back her tears as she speaks.

Ragini: I always listened to you Laksh. I always did what you said but not this time because if I'll listen to you this time then I'll lose you forever and that's the last thing I want.

She says as a betrayer tear escapes from her eyes. Laksh was looking at her painfully.

Laksh: Ragini, try to understand.

Ragini: why? Why should I understand always? Why don't you understand that your family needs you? They can't see you like this. They can't just sit and watch you spoiling your life and going away from them.

She shouts.

Laksh: what about you?

Ragini: what do you think I want?

Laksh: you tell me.

Ragini: I want to kill you for doing this to me, to us.

Laksh: kill me then. It'll be more easy for me.

Ragini shakes her head chuckling bitterly.

Ragini: I can't do it and you know that but that doesn't mean I'll leave you for what you've done to us. I promise, you're going to cry when I'll take my revenge on you. I'll kill you in my own way.

She says as she takes a few steps closer to him. Laksh shakes his head as a small smile spreads on his lips. Ragini holds his face in between her hands.

Ragini: please tell me what he is blackmailing you about. It'll be easier for us to help you, to save you. Please...

Laksh: I can't. If that thing comes out then the result will be more worse. I can't afford that.

Ragini: and we can't afford what is happening. You just be stubborn. Don't tell anything to me. I'll find my way myself. And believe me Mr Maheshwari, you're going to pay for every single tear which has come out of my eyes because of this nonsense of yours.

Laksh: that'll happen only when I'll come out of here and that's not going to happen. So I'm saved.

He gives her the same answer like that day.

Ragini: let's see, your stubbornness wins or my love and determination.

She says in a challenging tone. Laksh's heart wanted her love to win but his brain wanted his stubbornness to win.

Laksh: you'll not go to him.

He says as he places his right hand on her left cheek. Ragini closes her eyes feeling his touch.

Ragini: did you leave any other option for me?

She asks opening her eyes. Laksh holds her through her shoulders and pulls her to himself.

Laksh: you will not go. You don't have any idea about his cheapness.

Ragini: I will go. He don't have any idea about the power of my love and the strength of my family.

Laksh: why are you so stubborn Ragini?

Ragini: what to do? You have affected me very badly.

And Laksh was at loss of words at that.

The constable comes back and opens the door.

Constable: you have to leave now. We can't allow you here for more time.

Ragini unwantedly pulls her hands back from Laksh's face and he does the same. They were staring each other without saying anything.

Laksh: you'll not go. Did you listen to me?

Ragini: I will.

She says as she turns her face and moves out with teary eyes. Laksh hits his fist on the wall.

Laksh: I don't trust that f*cker a bit. Don't know what's going to happen? Ragini, stop doing this! Please...

The next day came sooner for the Maheshwaris and Gadodias. None of them slept the previous night because of worry, tension and fear.

They comes out of the cars as they reaches the court. All enters inside and sits on the wooden chairs placed in the large hall. The judge also comes after sometime. Laksh was also brought by the police. He looks at his family for once but soon turns his face away.

Laksh (in mind): you can't fall weak Laksh. Be strong.

The hearing starts and as expected everything was going against Laksh. Nirav puts a few things in front like Laksh was with Ragini that day and Gourav also says the same but those things were not enough and on top of that Laksh was himself accepting the crime. It was the biggest thing that was going against them.

Judge: all the proofs are going against him and he himself is accepting his crime. There isn't much in this case.

Nirav: sir, before you take any decision, can I say something?

The judge nods singing him to continue.

Nirav: the Indian law says that many culprits go unpunished can be accepted but not a single innocent person should be punished. I know the case is seeming crystal clear but it is not. There's much more to it. My client hasn't done anything. I know, right now I don't have proofs in his favor. I want you to give us some time so that we can find proofs. Please, I'm requesting you otherwise an innocent person will get the punishment for a crime he never did and the one who did that will be roaming out freely. It's the matter of a life.

All looks at the judge hopefully. Ragini joins her hands, continuously praying. Laksh looks at her and shakes his head.

Judge: I agree that no innocent person should be punished for the crime he didn't do. I'm giving you two weeks to gather proofs. If you couldn't find proofs to prove him innocent in these two weeks then I have to take the decision. The court is adjourned for the day.

He says and leaves the hall. Ragini looks at Laksh painfully as the police starts taking him away.

Ragini: thank you so much Nirav.

Nirav: as a lawyer, it's my job to save the innocent. I'll do anything that takes us to save him if he's innocent.

All: he is!

Naina: what we're going to do? How we're going to make him confess and know the truth?

Ragini: I know what we're going to do. I have a plan.

She tells her plan to her family and Aryan.

Aryan: bhabhi, it's very risky. We're not going to do this.

Ragini: I know but we don't have any other way.

Ryan: what about bhayu?

Ragini: who's going to tell him?

Sanskar: he'll kill us for not stopping you and supporting you.

Ragini: don't worry. I'll not let him kill you.

She says chuckling but others were looking at her with straight faces.

Swara: I don't like this plan.

Misha: even I don't. Di, we can't take such a big risk with you?

Ragini: guys, relax! Nothing will happen to me. And also, I'll not be alone.

Ragini: no but or anything. We need to save him and I'm ready to take every risk to save him.

Everyone looks at each other and nods half heartedly.

This is what's happening. I honestly want to be regular with this story but this isn't helping. I'm updating my other stories more regularly than this because there, the response is not falling that badly. But here😑😑. I don't know what to say. Are only writers bounded to be regular, not readers?
