Hate to Quit

She pecked on the door to her boss' office, and she heard a low 'hm,' meaning to enter. Once the pinkette was in the overly large office, she couldn't help but notice how attractive he is when he's in complete focus. The Uchiha was staring at his computer, and writing on a sheet of paper.

"Excuse me, sir?" She asked.

He glanced at her, and she continued, "Would you like anything? Coffee? Food?"

"No, thank you."

The pinkette nodded, and quickly exited the office. Sighing in embarrassment, she walked into the lobby, where her best friend was taking calls and putting them on hold.

"What do I do?" Sakura asked.

The blonde-haired woman took off her headset, and smirked at her emerald-eyed friend.

"Is it about Mr. Uchiha again?" She winked.

Sakura whined, "What the hell is wrong with me?! I can't fall in love with my boss!"

Ino shook her head, and replied, "Tsk, tsk. What are we going to do with you?"

The pinkette sighed, "Maybe I should quit."

"Wha-"

Sakura cut Ino off, "It's the only way. I can't let my feelings take over me. I'll get fired anyway."

"But Sakura, you've worked here for nearly two years. Why do you love him now?"

She smiled, "I've always loved him, but it's time I stopped. It's not like a girl like me could ever be with him. He's way out of my league."

Ino frowned, "You shouldn't put yourself down like that. You never kno-"

"I'm sorry, but I have to. I need to move on, otherwise I'll keep staying optimistic, and love will never find me, because I'll be invested on being with Sasuke."

"M-Mr. Uchiha, I need to speak with you." Sakura said from behind the door. Her heart was pounding, knowing she was giving up.

"Come in." He said quietly.

After walking in, Sakura saw he was in the same position as the last time she saw him. Once his eyes met hers, he saw the expression on her face, which held sadness. The Uchiha put down his pen, closed his laptop, and signaled her to take a seat with his hand. The pinkette sat in the seat across from his large desk, and he leaned back in his chair.

"M-Mr. Uchiha. . . ," She trailed off.

There was a long pause, and she sighed, "I quit."

She looked up at his face, and there was still no expression. She looked down at her lap.

"I see," He replied, "But it doesn't seem like you want to go."

Her head snapped up in surprise.

"I don't want to leave, I love working here."

He stared at her, "Then what's the problem?"

"It's complicated. . ." The pinkette stared at him, and she changed her mind, "I guess since I'm leaving and I'll probably never see you again, I can tell you."

Sasuke waited for her to continue.

She put her face in her hands, "Oh gosh," Sakura looked up at him, "I've developed feelings for you, and I know that does not belong in the workplace. I don't want to get in your way, so I'm going to pack up my things immediately, and you'll never have to see me again."

Sakura rose from her seat, and took long strides to the door. She placed her hand on the door handle, preparing to push downward, but the next word he said stopped her.

"Stay."

This was a short one, I know.

I feel like every one-shot I write is awkward XD

Guys, PLEASE give me requests. The creativity department in my brain is under maintenance, and I'm eager to write something good.

By the way, if you read "Criminal Case," then I'd like to notify you ahead of time that it is off hold. There will be a new chapter in the next few days.
